Martha walked on as she tried to reach the mansion; the sky looked pregnant. She knew a heavy storm was coming along but what could she expect, Lady Winston and her step-sister would never miss a chance to put her in absolute misery and harm's way.

It was a long way to the mansion. After this she was undoubtedly going to get her revenge she had never felt so certain about this. She had not put a plan together, but she would have to start from somewhere.

In this world, it felt like her limbs were cut. There were ways things were done in this previous life, she had no connection here, there was nothing she could do, it was all different from the world she knew. She was still new here. It was a battle for her to get acquainted to the way things were done over here, their system was entirely different from what she knew, the people she met and the way they thought. Holding the letter she was sent to collect from the winery, she walked faster and could see the mansion from a far distance.

It would take her a reasonable amount of time to get there. Looking round, she searched for a shelter she could run into because it was sure she could not beat the rain. Like the clouds knew her thought and a drop of rain hit her nose she quickened her step and in cue the rain droplet increased to drizzles of rain getting ready to be a heavy down pour on anyone or anything within its reach she decided to give up and walked casually as she would because there was no difference anyway. The rain had caught up with so why run when eventually she would be all drenched.

Just as she gave up, someone in a horse came riding towards her. Martha ignored them walking on in the rain. "Mary is that you?" She recognized the voice. She looked to see the annoying perfect face of no one else but Philip.

"Get onto the horse so we can head home". She ignored him and kept walking. She would never accept help from the spurn of the devil she kept on walking ignoring his presence. Suddenly he lifts her by her waist off the floor causing gaps to escape her lips. It was as if she weighed nothing. She could no longer feel her legs touch the ground. By now the rain began to pour like it was taking out its vengeance on all things found within its reach. It was like the rain was feeding off her emotions, she could not struggle much for fear of falling and being trampled by the horse. Philip saw that there was no way they can make it home without being drenched or catching a fever. As he rode, she began to hit him on his chest while he found shelter from the rain. She continued her take vengeful revenge on his chest. There was no way she would spend her time with him at a shelter. While she continued pounding on his chest, a groan escaped her mouth. Philip swore he heard it with that there was a chance she could talk again with the proper treatment. He smiled inwardly this is going to be fun.

Once they arrived at a shelter, Martha made sure she did not spear a second as she attempted to get down, but he was quick enough to help her down. She felt his hand guiding her off the horse but she pushed him away making her stumble down the horse.

"Why can't you let me help you, not everyone is against you, you know?" He tries to help her gain her balance when he gets off the horse but she pushes him off.

Looking around, the shelter was a stable,it didn't look too big but it could house up to 2 to 3 horses. The rain had drenched her totally as her hair was stuck to her face, she wipes hair strand from her face angrily, right now she could feel the cold getting into her very bones, without saying a word she walks to the corner of a room bundled straws together and sat with her face tucked between her knees. She felt so disgusted with herself, her shoes, clothes and hair all drenched with the rain.

Leaning on the wall, she closed her eyes, thinking of the situation she was stuck in. Philip decided to give her space as he led his horse to the corner soothing him and giving him hays to eat. He didn't have to bind his horse because he was an obedient one. Once he was done he began to look around for what he would need to make the place warm enough. A few minutes before he realized something was wrong, he looked at the lady at the back observing her, she was shaking and the noise coming from her were her teeth chattering. The rain had been falling for quite some time and there seemed to be no end to it

"Mary" he called out to her but got no answer. He could see a frown on her face as her eyebrows looked rigid and her body tensed. He moved carefully and slowly towards her as he laid his palm on her fore head to his surprise, she didn't fight back or push at him. That was a change, and then he realized that she had gotten a fever which made her unable to react. He cursed under his breath as what he was trying to avoid did happen, making him feel bad.

He quickly lifted her up and slightly placed her beside his chest, giving her a little tug and calling out her name, but he got no response. He was bothered, he knew he had to keep her warm, and there was only one way to do it in this situation. God help him when she wakes up to see what he would have to do.
