Chapter 141: The strange brother

878words

It was after dinner when we finally arrived home. The house was quiet and Dominick's Audi was absent from the garage. Even though I knew he was still in the city, it felt like he was far away. I missed him more than he knew, but also wondered what he was doing. It wasn't like him not to call or text me back, but I had to remind myself to trust him. Besides, Pierre was with him and I knew my best friend would keep a good eye out for me.

I helped Dakota to her bedroom before she fell right back to sleep. Now the house was even more quiet and I didn't know what to do with myself. I brought my bag of goodies to our bedroom and set the contents out on the bed. I stared at them with curiosity and couldn't wait for him to get home. My phone was still quiet with no missed calls or texts from him and now my worried thoughts were beginning to take over.

Instead of torturing myself, I tried to call luis, but his phone went to voice-mail too. "You've reached the one and only luis. Leave a message, bitch." Beep.

"Luis, it's lynn. I haven't heard a word from either of you since this morning. Please call or text me back. Okay? Okay." I hung up and slumped down on the edge of the bed before I curled up beside the sex toys.

Exhaustion quickly took over me and I fell asleep with my phone in my hand, silently hoping I'd wake to one of them calling me back. But it wasn't my phone that woke me late at night. A small disturbance from the kitchen made me shoot straight up. I looked at my phone and saw that it was nearing 4 a.m. but I quickly shut it off as my eyes burned.

I slid from the bed and left our bedroom, stealing a peek into Dakota's room to find her still asleep. My heart thundered with excitement knowing that Drake was finally home. I descended the stairs as quickly as I could in my sleep-sated mind and stormed into the kitchen where I had heard the noise. I kept the lights off to prevent my eyes from burning again when I saw Drake's silhouette just as he closed the fridge door.

Without a single word, I marched up to him and turned him around before I basically jumped in his arms and slammed my lips against his. His strong arms effortlessly held me up as he devoured my mouth and moaned against my tongue.

But it was different.

There was a roughness in this kiss that Drake had never delivered before and... was that the taste of cigarettes? Drake didn't smoke.

The garage door opened as voices filtered into the kitchen right before the bright lights turned on. My eyes were wide open as my mouth moved against a complete stranger's mouth. I yelped and tried to pull away but the guy beneath me wasn't letting go.

"What the fuck?!" Drake's voice made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

I was ripped away from the stranger before I even knew what was happening. Drake slammed the guy up against the counters by his throat as anger permeated off of him. I sank back and right up beside luis as he held my hand. I had to blink several times at the sight in front of me.

The guy I had just been sucking face with looked eerily similar to Drake, except for the enormous amounts of ink. They were the same height and body build, yet the stranger's eyes were menacing and a completely different color.

"Calm down, brother," the guy said as he held up his hands.

Brother? Like Drake's actual brother?! Holy shit.

"You had your hands and mouth on the wrong woman, Diego. I should fucking kill you right now," Drake hissed through clenched teeth. "What the fuck are you even doing in my house? You know you're not welcome here."

This Diego guy laughed. "Dakota called me. You apparently aren't doing your brotherly duties so she called in the good one." He pushed Drake off of him and stepped aside.

"The good one? Are you fucking kidding me right now?"

"You look drunk, big brother. Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."

"You son of a bitch," Drake hissed before he tackled Diego against the cabinets behind him. They went at it like animals as I shrieked and stepped back with luis at my side.

"What the fuck is going on?" Luis shrieked next to me as he clung to me.

"I don't know!" I cried.

"Enough!!" A woman hollered as she stepped into the kitchen and tore the two apart.

I blinked several times as I stared at the woman who had the same eyes as Drake and the face structure of Dakota. She was graying and looked as if she didn't have more than ten pounds of body fat on her. Her eyes were a bit sunken in and her wrinkles looked like old leather.

"Mom?" Drake asked as he stepped back and blinked at her as well.

"Hello, Drake."
