Chapter 104: So jealous

Any happy childhood memory that I had went right out the window after today and I couldn't stop myself from wondering if they ever loved me. Was I always just a paycheck for them? I tried to remember my life as a little girl and realized all the memories were blurry. I've always looked up to my parents as they were always there, but if my mom was actually my nanny, that would make sense. Fuck!
Someone knocked on the door as I quickly wiped away my tears and jumped up to grab clothes from my luggage. I didn't want them to see me this.
"You okay, babe?" Drake's voice filled the room as I gave him a smile over my shoulder.
"I'm fine. I'll be out in a moment."
The look of sadness on his face nearly tore me in two. I knew that he was just trying to help and even though his feelings meant everything to me, I couldn't focus on them right now. I couldn't lose Drake and I would fight like hell when this was all over, but for now, I need to focus on the matter at hand.
I got dressed and joined the guys back in the living room when the elevator doors dinged and Micky stepped into the room in full uniform.
His eyes scanned the room and landed on mine as he smirked.
"Lynn," he greeted as he stepped up to me and went in for a hug. I hugged him back but not without hearing a growl come from Drake. "Luis, my man!" He shook Luis's hand and then went in for a half hug. Then he looked at D and just gave him a nod. "Drake," he greeted dryly.
"I see you're still looking sharp in that uniform of yours," Luis purred and I was about to fan his face. Calm down, P!
Micky chuckled and shook his head. "And I see you still know how to make a straight man blush."
Luis laughed. "Are you, though?"
"Okay!" I waved my hands. "Can we get this show on the road, please?"
Micky touched my arm and stared deep into my eyes. "Are you okay, lynn? I came here as fast as I could."
Drake stepped up beside me and wrapped an arm around my shoulders which pushed Micky's hand from my arm. Jesus, here we go.
"I need tk show you some things and then i need you to help on what to do next. I didn't know who else to call ",
"You know i will always be here for you", Mickey grinned.
.Drake growled again and i looked up at him. "Relax!"
When I looked back at Micky, I could tell that he knew exactly what he was doing. Did he enjoy ruffling Drake's feathers? God, this is not going to be fun, but I need his help.
I handed him Drake's phone. "Read through those documents. It's too much to discuss."
He took the phone and stared at the screen as I watched his brow furrow into anger and surprise and then shock. The few minutes it took him to read through it were the longest minutes in my life. I kept chewing on the inside of my cheek and I had wrapped my arm around Drake's waist and held on tightly. My nerves were all over the place and I just hoped that Micky would be able to help me.
"Jesus Christ," Micky hissed out as he handed Drake back his phone. "You found this information?" He asked Drake.
"I know a guy," Drake replied sharply.
Micky nodded. "Seems like a thorough guy." He blew out a breath and looked at me. "Fuck, lynn, that's some deep shit. You cool?"
"I'm not entirely sure what I am, Micky. I just need your help on what to do next."
He stepped back and ran a hand over his face while his other hand rested on his utility belt. He was clearly thinking and my heart hammered against my chest the entire time. Then he turned back to us.
"You've got some solid proof in those emails. That's a great start. Do you have more?"
I nervously nodded. "I have a detailed journal spanning over several years. And..." I paused, remembering the box hidden in my closet, "I have a shoebox hidden in my closet at my parents. It has financial papers about Jason and several letters I hid from my parents from Tuffin Aerospace. I got them when I was so young that I forgot about them until now."
The blood drained from my face as I recalled what one of the letters had said. It discussed an account in my name that I would be able to take out of when I turned eighteen. I received that letter when I was nine-years-old and hid it in that box. I had completely forgotten about that until just now. My life with Jason was so crazy that all I could focus on was how to get the hell out. Nothing else mattered.
Micky nodded. "Good. I need you to get those things as soon as you can."
"Fuck that! She isn't going back there!" Drake barked.
"I get it," Micky stated with a nod. "You go back with her. Act completely normal. I'll wire you both up and have a team parked nearby in case anything goes wrong." Micky turned his eyes to me. "Think you can handle that, lynn?"
I took several breaths and knew that I could. I gave him a single nod and said, "Let's fucking do this."
