Chapter 51: Favorite porn star

"I knew I recognized you. My old lady fucking loves you, man. "He held up his phone to me and I saw the video playing on the screen. His volume was on but it was turned down, moans filling the space around us as I watched myself fuck Monique in the video we just shot a month ago.
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat and looked away, clearing my throat.
"Ah, man, can I get a picture with you? My old lady will freak out."
I hated it when fans recognized me in person. It wasn't too often but then there were die-hard fans like this guy who probably watched every movie I had out.
"Sure, Let's make it quick."
The guy already had his phone up when he snapped the picture and grinned from ear to ear.
"This is so fucking awesome. She isn't going to believe this!" He leaned in, getting close to me as I tried to shift away from him. "How do you do it, man? You can last for hours and make the woman scream. I can't even come close to your stamina. Do you take pills."
I really didn't want to talk about my dick and stamina with this complete stranger in the middle of an emergency room.
"Practice," I replied, hoping my one word answers would give him the hint that I wasn't interested in speaking with him.
"I got you," He whispered, holding his hands up. "I'm just pumped I got to meet you, man, keep killing it." Then he stood up and returned to his chair before he put his phone up to his ear. "Guess what, baby." He spoke loudly into the phone. "I just met your favorite porn star! Drake Hudson!"
To old woman sitting across from us nearly dropped her magazine as she stared up at me with disapproving eyes. That was a normal reaction from the elderly when they found out my reaction, but then my eyes moved around the room and the looks directed at me had changed. The men looked envious and the women were drooling. Fucking hell, man.
Standing up from my spot, I needed to get some fresh air. The entire fucking emergency room just heard that I was a porn star and I didn't lynn coming out of the elevator to witness any of their stairs and whispers. They'd probably think she's one of my co stars and I didn't need that biker asshole to rat me out before I could get the chance to tell her myself.
This is the moment I wish I never quit smoking. I could really use a fucking cigarette right now, staring down at my phone with zero missed calls from Lynn and no text messages. What the fuck is going on up there? I'm going a bit nuts right now, pacing back and forth on the sidewalk.
My phone began to ring and I nearly dropped it as I tried to answer it, seeing kristoff's name on the screen. Fuck, this is the last thing I needed right now.
"Hey," I answered, shoving my free hand in my front pocket.
"Drake, are you busy?"
I squeezed my eyes shut and knew why he was asking that. "I'm at the emergency room with lynny. Her friend was in an accident."
"Oh shit, is he okay?"
"No clue yet."
"Well, I know you're probably pacing back and forth going crazy right now. Why don't you come to work and distract yourself? Lenny didn't fucking show up and I have this huge shoot with no male lead. I'll pay you extra, Drake. You know I will."
I wanted to tell him to get bent, but I knew I that wouldn't go over well.
"I'm a little busy right now, kristoff, or did you not hear me?"
Kristoff sighed into the phone. "Listen, brother, I know you've been getting involved with this Lynn girl and that's fine, but you're slacking here, kid. The exec's, are getting a little irritated with you for your lack of movies lately. Show up tonight or pay the fine."
I gripped my phone and felt my jaw tighten. I knew that if I didn't show up tonight that I'd be fined with a hefty price and benched until further notice. That couldn't happen.
"I'll be there in twenty." I hung up on him before he could say anything else.
Anger was pumping through me and I hated it. Before Lynn, getting cold to a shoot was no big deal. I'd take a quick shower, brush my teeth, and head over to the studios without hesitation. Now, all I want to do is throw up and take the wrong turn and keep driving until I find a new life.
Lynn.
She needs to know that I have to take off, but fuck, I hate leaving her here without a ride home.
Dialing her number, I waited for her to answer.
"Hey," sorry I haven't called you. Luis is fine. Mouthy as ever, but fine," Lynn laughed into the phone and her laugh felt like someone just sucker punched me in the gut.
I tried to smile but I was in no mood for it.
"Good, I'm glad to hear that. Listen, I just got a call from my boss. Someone didn't show up so I have to go in. Are you okay here?" I squeezed my eyes shut and waited for the disappointment in her voice, but it never came.
"Oh, that's fine, Drake! Thank you for bringing me here. I can manage until this jerk gets discharged from the hospital in the morning and then we'll take a cab back to my place."
I nodded, taking a deep breath in. "You sure?"
