Ciara's POV
I hurriedly ran out of the fast-food chain to catch up to Shan where I came up to him. I grabbed him and he turned to me, "Shan, where are you going? Please come back."
He said bitterly, "No, I'm not going back, I'm heading straight home! I've lost my mood and appetite," but I stopped him.
"Shan," I replied, "what you said to Faith was so terrible. She's simply worried about you, and what's wrong with all of that? Why not give your real father a chance? I'm sure —"
He suddenly punched a metal pole which surprised and terrified me, "Can you all mind your own f***ing biz?! Please, don't control my life on who I like being with! Why are you pushing me to be nice or seeing that stupid Phillip?!!" he exclaimed.
"What the hell is wrong with you? You're stressing me out!" I yelled, even though I was already stressed out with him. I'm only trying to support him!
"It's because of all of you! You're forcing me to meet that family, whom I despise! I despise them, and I don't want to see that Phillip! Just don't get involved in my family problems! I don't your help!"
I was taken aback when I heard that from him. "Wow! You don't want me to intrude?! Fine then!" I don't care if others are staring at us right now, "Well, you don't need me. You take care of your life, okay? You know, I'm only trying to help you restore your relationship with your family! I guess you don't need me!"
He probably realized he'd gone too far, but it was too late. I stormed back into McDonald's to retrieve my belongings. "I needed to go, people," I muttered.
I could see the look of bewilderment on their faces, but I was also in a bad mood. Is it my fault that I want to help my lover with his problem? I understand that accepting everything he knows is difficult.
I walked out and saw that he was still waiting for me outside, "Babe," he yelled out, and I could see his guilt, but I just started walking. He grabbed my arms and said, "Babe. I'm sorry. Please forgive me."
"Save it. I won't meddle, right? I'm doing you a favor." I turned away and left him speechless
Because my blood is still boiling from what happened, I just rode a tricycle home. As soon as I arrived, I noticed that my folks were already at home.
When I arrived at the house, they were busy preparing lunch. "Wow, it smells fantastic," I think as I smell the delectable meal from the kitchen.
"You're here!" Mom exclaimed, and I dashed over to kiss her on the cheek, as well as Dad's. "How's school?"
"It was fantastic. I also recorded my performance," I stated as I reached into my bag for my phone.
"Show me!" mom exclaimed as she grabbed my phone. Both of them were watching my performance at the same time, and I could tell they were ecstatic to see me on stage.
They had no idea I could play instruments because they had been so busy for so long.
"Wow, that's terrific! You got your singing genes from me," my mother exclaimed. She has a beautiful voice, and my father is an amazing musician.
They met in a band, and that's how their romance began!
I simply groaned and took a seat to eat. I thought no one noticed that dad caught my attention, "Oh, what happened to you? Is there a problem?"
"just a little, Dad. Shan and I had a bit of a quarrel," I said. "Is it wrong to meddle and help him with his problem?"
"No, dear, what's the matter?"
"It's about his father," I explained, "but it's not about Mr. John, it's about his biological father." They were surprised to learn about it because they had no idea.
Mom remarked, "Wait, so his Dad is different?" I nodded.
"We only found out last week, and Shan was upset, and he didn't seem to accept it. I just wanted to help him, but we fought because he didn't want me to tell him whether or not he should accept his biological father. You get what I'm saying?"
"You know, just give him some time," my father said when he learned about it. "It won't be simple to accept someone, especially when you know him and he doesn't know him well."
"That's right," mom said, "especially because he's used to John being his father; after all, John is loving, so Shan is naturally attached to John."
I suddenly remembered something, "By the way, I heard that Uncle Derek invited Mr. John Anderson's family to Surigao for the birthday,"
Dad inquired, "Yeah. Why? You want to invite someone?"
"If at all possible."
"Sure, it's OK! The more the merrier," I smiled as I joined them for lunch.
