“Hey, I heard that the new student was already here,” Hailey said while sipping her orange juice.
“Really? A boy or a girl?” I asked while raising my eyebrow. I heard her giggles.
“It's a boy, I don't know if I already told you about him, but yes, he's a boy.” I shrugged my shoulder.
Our class was already done and we decided to go outside.
“Did you already see him?” I asked while having a bewildered look on my face. She shook his face.
We are currently sitting on the bench. It's nearby the school, so we can see all the students who are walking away from it.
All of a sudden, a group of students went out while talking to each other. They walked in our direction.
“What happened to your first day?” the guy asked the man who was tall among them all.
“It's fine and I already expected that they will be going to be happy if they see me,” the man answered.
I'm just observing them when they passed from the bench.
Hailey was just looking at me while raising her eyebrow. I laughed secretly. “I think, that's the new student that they were talking about,” she whispered.
“Did you see his name tag?” she asked. I shook my head as a sign of my answer. “Eh? Why?” Her shoulder slumped down and she took a deep breath.
She glances at her wristwatch, “It's time to go, bye-bye! See you tomorrow!” I smiled when she said those words.
In a few seconds, she stands up and started to walk away from the bench. I'm just looking at her back while waiting for her to disappear from my sight.
Hailey is pretty and kind. She's talkative, however, she doesn't have a lot of friends. She's with me all the time when we are at school.
When Hailey was already gone, I stand up and fixed myself. I texted my father saying I'm going to the cafe.
After a few minutes, my father arrived in front of me while riding our car.
“Hop in! Let's go!” I smiled at him and went inside the car. My parents were already here in our city.
I thought they are going to go home after 2 weeks, but here they are...
I took a deep breath and let it out slowly, after an hour of driving, we already reached the cafe and it's already 2:50 in the afternoon.
From my point of view, I should be able to set my attendance card as early as I can.
“Take care, Dad!” I said while smiling. I went out of the car.
“Astrid, do you still have some money?” I nodded as a sign of my answer. “I see, take care!” I waved my hands while I'm watching him disappear.
After a few minutes, I started to walk through the pathway and go to our locker room.
“Hey! Astrid!” I turned my head in her direction. “Kaye!” I shouted while walking around the locker room.
“How's your day? How's the experience yesterday?” she asked while raising her eyebrow.
“It's fun, but tiring, however, I learned something from that day, so I should continue to do this job,” I answered.
I went to my locker and organized all the things inside of it. I found a white rose.
“Kaye, do you know where it comes from?” I whispered. She walks in my direction.
“Huh?” I pointed out the flower using my finger.
“I don't know? When I came here, there's no one in here until you came.” I shrugged my shoulder and decided to change my clothes into my uniform from the cafe.
It's already 3:30 in the afternoon, I should put some time into my attendance card. When the time was already printed I put it back.
I went to the kitchen, “Astrid! Hurry up, double time! We have a lot of customers!” the barista said.
“Yes, Sir!” I exclaimed. He gave me the tray and I walked immediately to the customer's tables.
“Good afternoon, Sir! May I take your order, please?” I greeted the customer. He glanced at me.
“Can I get some Expresso? That's it.” I smiled while writing his order. “Please, wait for at least 5 minutes to 10 minutes, please enjoy your time!” I walked away and go to the second table.
“Good day, Miss! Can I take your order?” I asked. She raised her eyebrow and his lips pressed together into a thin line.
“What's your WIFI password? Can you state it to me?” My jaw dropped a bit. I gasped when she looked directly into my eyes.
“Uhm... Miss, please ask our Barista for the password and... Please, order some coffee or desserts before we can let you connect to our WIFI.”
She rolled her eyes, “Just give me one cinnamon coffee, that's it.” I wrote it down and go to the counter.
“Can you give these donuts to table 3?” I nodded and took the donuts. I walked carefully and put it down on table number 3.
“Feel free to enjoy your donuts!” I smiled. They smiled back and I turned my back at them to go to the counter.
“One Expresso and one cinnamon coffee!” my head automatically turned at the counter. I raised my hand a bit to give some signals.
To inform them that those are my customer's orders. When I reached the counter, I whispered to our barista that the person who ordered the cinnamon coffee wanted to know the password.
He writes it down and he folds the paper. He smiled at me for a second and he started to brew some coffee.
“Here's your coffee, Sir,” I said in a calm voice. He thanked me before I go to the other table.
“Here's your cinnamon coffee, Miss.” I put the mug together with the paper with the password.
She mouthed the word, “Thank you.” I gave her a sweet smile and go to the other table. My eyes widen when I saw the students who were sitting in the corner.
“Good afternoon! May I take your order?” I greeted. They looked at me.
“Hey, where's your money? Money down! Money down!” the guy with glasses shouted. They laughed awkwardly.
“You're so noisy! Keep your mouth shut, it's a good thing to do!” the guy beside him said. The man with glasses glared at the person beside him.
“Shut up,” the man with dark-haired said. In a split of seconds, they became silent. The guy looked at me with a cheerful smile.
“Please give us the delicious glazed donuts and the most popular coffee, we are willing to wait until 4:30 in the afternoon,” he stated.
“Thank you for your cooperation! Please wait for your orders,” I responded. I gave him a wide smile.
His face became pink. His friends started to make some noise to tease him, but he managed to ignore them.
I turned my back from their table and started to reach the counter.
“They said that they want our delicious glazed donuts and most popular coffee, they said that they are willing to wait until 4:30,” I stated.
“Copied,” he responded. I looked at my wristwatch, it's already 4 in the afternoon, so we have 30 minutes to go.
I walked to the other side of the Cafe. It's a place where the customers want to do their business.
What I mean, their reports, and presentation. Also for the college students.
All of a sudden, my phone rang.
“Excuse me—” Someone bumped at me while I'm holding the tray and my phone. I touched my forehead.
After a few seconds, my vision became blurry.
