PRINCESS HELLEN'S POV
"Why waste your precious time negotiating with the human? Why not just get her out of this palace and get rid of her now that no one needs her anymore?" Asher questions, her voice laced curiosity as she follows behind me.
"You don't understand." I shake my head at her, my voice a mixture of anger and frustration.
"What don't I understand, your highness?" Asher presses and I stop in my tracks.
"The human has a mate bond with the alpha kings. I need her to accept their rejection before I can do away with her, or it will cause them pain."
Asher's eyes widen in surprise. "I thought you just wanted to be their queen. I didn't know you cared about them that much."
I purse my lips. " It will be simpler to earn their complete love without them being tied to a past dead mate. If she could just accept their rejection, it would severe even the tiniest thread of affection they hold for her."
Asher nod slowly understanding. "But what if she refuses to reject them? What then?"
"She is a lowlife human and will never willingly let go. She knows the kings can offer her a life she can only dream of having." Asher adds.
Offcourse I didn't expect her to just let go that easily, but I had still held a little bit of hope.
"She just needs a little bit more coercion." I say. "I have a good plan already, but you and Julia must help me get that crown and get her out of here after," I declare. I still have to find a way to get that crown on her human head as my mother had written in that letter, so that the curse will be fully lifted.
Asher nods in silent agreement and loyalty.
ELLA'S POV
I groan in pain as I take off my dress, there are a few faint specks of blood staining the fabric. I retrieve my small mirror from my bag and carefully angle it to inspect the aftermath of Princess Hellen's brutal attack. There are quite a few rough scratches marring my upper shoulders but they don't look severe, nothing I can't survive until I inform my mates what happened.
If Sir, William hadn't shown up when he did, Princess Hellen's wrath might have led to a far more tragic outcome, with me probably dead. I'm thankful he showed up in time, even though he didn't exactly help me. I wonder if he's upset because I went against his advice and helped the kings.
I suddenly hear the echo of light footsteps out in the hallway before a light knock on the door sends my heart racing once again.
Has princess Hellen already decided the beating she gave me wasn't enough and have come back. But then she wouldn't be knocking, right? I quickly wrap one of my bedding around my naked body before cautiously approaching the door.
I peer through the keyhole first for confirmation and to my relief, it is merely servant holding a fancy box.
"A gift from the kings, for the evening, miss," the servant announces as soon as I open the door, handing the box to me.
Seems like my mates are so set to thank me for giving them my blood by all means they can think of.
I thank her and take the box inside to my bed.
I curiously open it to find a luxurious golden dress made of pure royal satin inside. Beautiful is an underrating, exquisite is the right word to describe It. It looks similar to the ones Princess Hellen usually wears to important events. A slight smile appears on my face as I lay the gown out on my bed. Tears gathering in my eyes, it's the most precious thing I have ever got. It's my first gift besides flowers and from my lovely mates.
I quickly pull off the sheet from my body and slip on the dress. It's long, goes all the way to my ankles and spreads a little on the floor behind me.
Now I wish I had a long mirror to see the new, incredible me! I still use my small one.
I didn't know that my waist is so tiny, or that my bosom is a little bigger than that of many girls. I may not be as thin as princess Hellen, but everything seems right. The only thing that is not up to standard is my hair. I grab a comb and disentangle it until it's all looking long and sleek. I leave it loose instead of putting it back in a ponytail.
Now I think I look like the girls princess Hellen believe are worthy of my mates attention. Or it's just me that is too excited to be in such a beautiful dress and other people won't think I look as good.
As I gaze at my beautiful reflection in the small mirror, a daring idea suddenly sparks in my mind. Perhaps it is time to quell the animosity and jealousy that is between me and Hellen. I grab my coat and confidently head to her chambers.
I take off the coat before entering so she will see the beautiful dress clearly.
Without bothering to knock on her bedroom door, I push open the door to find her engrossed in a hushed conversation with Asher and Julia. Their expressions of displeasure at the sudden intrusion quickly mobs to ones of seething anger when they see my dress.
"Doesn't this dress look nice, Your Highness?" I asks sarcastically, knowing they know I can't afford it.
Princess Hellen's voice quivers with barely contained rage as she retorts, "That dress is merely a pitiful way for them to tell you, your blood help is worth just a stupid dress."
Ignoring her jealous words, I step forward, such that we are almost a step away from each other. "Since we both love the alpha kings, or rather, you love my mates, I believe there might be a better way to solve our problem."
Princess Hellen lets out a dismissive snort. "What can a lowly human like you have to say that would interest me?"
Asher quickly rises from the bed and comes to Hellen's side. "Oh, come now, your highness. Let's hear what the stupid human has to say. It might be amusing." she says and they all laugh out loud.
"Fine. Go on.." Princess Hellen says acctually sounding a little intrigued.
"Let attend the royal dinner together, your highness and then we shall ask each of the alpha kings to choose between us. If they choose me, you will walk away in peace, as I will have won their favor." I suggest confidently.
Princess Hellen smirks. " And if they choose me?"
I hesitate for a moment. Maybe this was a bad idea! I should have really thought this through first.
"Then I will accept their rejection with grace and walk away, as you asked."
Princess Hellen laughs triumphantly, her icy brown eyes gleaming with confidence. "Very well then, Let's see who the kings really like," she says with a smirk.
Asher nods in agreement, her eyes flickering between me and Princess Hellen. "I must say, Tonight will be a big show of heartbreak, I hope you won't cry after you are rejected," she adds, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
My heart races in my chest as my mind now fully registers what I just rushly suggested. The fancy dress had made me feel sure about the kings' feelings for me, but now doubt begins to seep in. What if they choose Princess Hellen? Where will I even go?
But I push those thoughts aside. "I stand by my proposal," I declare. "We let the kings decide."
Princess Hellen nods. "Very well, let the games begin," she says, her voice laced with anticipation.
I walk out of her chambers but I can't help but feel a sense of fear. I know that this can either be the beginning of a new lovely life for me or my next emotional trauma.
But I square my shoulders and hold my head high. For the love and trust I have on my mates, I am willing to risk it all. I know they won't disappoint me.
