Chapter 3

After leaving the hospital I went to the mall.

I bought myself a fairly decent outfit.

Michael sent a message with a warning.

[If you don't come today, you really don't deserve to become our George family member! ]

I smiled and casually deleted the message.

As an unfaithful father, he was not qualified to judge me.

In order to appear with a new look, I spent a huge amount of money on my makeup and hair.

Looking at myself in the mirror, who seemed to be ten years younger, I felt it seemed so long ago.

It was said that if a woman marries the right person, she will become younger and younger.

Now without anyone telling me, I knew that I made the wrong choice.

It was already dark when I finished, and I finally got on the car to George's house.

The George family was large, and speeches before each family feast would take two hours.

This time I calculated the time exactly.

The banquet had just started when I arrived.

I saw Noah first when I entered the door, and he was sitting between Michael and Olivia.

His little face was bulging with food.

My heart warmed when I saw him.

Even if my relationship with Michael failed.

He was my son, who was raised with all my heart.

Carrying the gift I had picked for him, I walked up to him quickly, smiling with loving eyes.

"My dear, I congratulate you on winning first place!"

"This is the gift I picked for you. Do you like it?"

After my words were spoken, there was a silence in the hell.

Michael's face darkened instantly.

Noah looked at the toy in my hand with disgust.

He turned around and snuggled into Olivia's arms, being amused by Olivia and laughing out loud.

I felt a pang of bitterness in my heart.

Michael gritted his teeth and then said, "Noah's competition has been over for a month, and today's theme is family-banquet!"

The atmosphere was freezing cold.

Noticing that, Olivia smiled and spoke to ease the situation.

"Michael, don't be angry. I specifically asked about that condition. People with postpartum depression will have memory disorders when they are serious."

After hearing that, Michael's face darkened even more.

Several elders from the George family looked at me with dissatisfaction.

After Michael's parents had an accident, his sister Sarah George took charge of the George family.

Hearing those, she immediately spoke.

"No woman doesn't give birth to a child. Giving birth to a child in our George family saves so much trouble. It's simply a blessing from your previous life."

"Not everyone has this fate. Not just any person can become the George family member!"

Since the day I was with Michael, I had knew she hated me.

She knew that Michael disobeyed his parents for me.

She once thought that I was involved in the death of their parents.

If Michael and I hadn't been together, his parents wouldn't have been so angry that they wanted to move the company out of the country.

They wouldn't have been on the plane that crashed.

For that reason, I always tolerated her.

As long as I could be with Michael, being scolded didn't matter.

But now, I couldn't even protect my own son.

Whoever wanted to compromise could compromise.

I looked at Olivia's fake kind and gentle expression.

I questioned sternly, "You deliberately sent me a message this afternoon saying that Noah likes this toy."

"But you and Michael had to go to work and doesn't have time to queue up to buy it, so I went to the mall and queued for three hours."

"In order to express my respect for the solemnity of the family banquet, I even went to tidy up my clothes and hair. Is this how you treat me? Is this my blessing?"

I lifted the toy in my hand high up and smashed it hard on the ground.

"Is this the toy that Noah likes?"

Michael slammed the table suddenly, causing several glasses to fall to the ground.

They were broken into scraps.

"Olivia kindly reminded you, but do you still need others to tell you what your own son likes?"

"You don't go to work, so how busy are you every day that you don't have time to visit your son?"

"Look at yourself, how can you look like a mother?"

"I don't think you need to continue today's meal!"

I chuckled and folded my arms.

I had no intention of finishing the meal from the beginning.

It was my battlefield, and had never been my home!

The next second, I turned to leave, but I heard the sound of some object breaking through the air behind me.

A ceramic teacup flew past my face and hit the wall, shattering into pieces.

Sarah said angrily, "An uneducated guy! There are so many family elders here. This is not a place where you can come and go as you please!"

"Our George family is not a market!"

The broken pieces of the teacup just now flew onto my face.

A bloody mark was left.

Blood was running down my cheek.

Years of resentment in my heart burst out in that moment.

I slowly turned my head, facing Sarah's haughty expression.

"Upbringing? Haha, you don't seem to know what upbringing is. Do you want me to teach you?"
