Chapter 10

Victoria's father, the old Beta who had been biding his time in silence, seized the opportunity while the Alpha was away in the human world chasing his wife. He allied with the Rogues and invaded the Pack.
Without the Alpha to hold the line, the Pack members were like lambs to the slaughter.
Victoria dragged her broken, bleeding body, wielding a machine gun she had snatched from a guard, and sprayed bullets wildly at her own clansmen.
Within ten minutes, corpses littered the ground.
When Eric arrived, over three hundred invading Rogues had seized every key vantage point.
Victoria stood on a high platform, stepping on the old butler's corpse. She was laughing maniacally as she directed her minions to empty the family vault.
"The Alpha is back!"
Someone shouted, and all the Rogues stopped what they were doing to look at the main gate.
"Kill him! Whoever brings me his head gets a hundred million!" Victoria shrieked her order.
Three hundred Rogues swarmed him at once.
Eric didn't dodge. With a near-suicidal frenzy, he charged straight into the pack of Rogues.
Without Bella, what was the use of this life anyway?
With the Alpha's support, the Pack's warriors snapped out of their shock and began to fight back.
An hour later, the square was piled high with Rogue corpses.
Eric stood amidst a sea of blood and bodies, holding Victoria's father's severed head in his hand.
He had torn the traitorous old Beta's neck apart with his bare hands.
But Eric's body had been pierced by countless blades. There was a gaping, bloody hole in his stomach.
Eric stumbled. He looked down at the blade tip protruding from his body and actually smiled.
Then, he fell heavily to his knees.
His vision began to blur.
The cries of the surviving Pack members surrounded him, but Eric couldn't hear them.
In the second before darkness swallowed him, the only thought flashing through his mind was:
If I die now, will Bella shed a tear for me?
Even just one drop would be enough.
After falling unconscious, Eric had a dream.
He dreamed of three years ago, when he proposed to Bella in the human world.
She stood by the sea, wearing a simple white dress, looking breathtakingly beautiful.
Eric looked at her with anticipation. "Bella, marry me. I will love you with my life, protect you, and make you the happiest woman in the world."
Bella had nodded shyly back then, blushing as she reached out and threw herself into his arms, saying, "I do."
But in the dream...
Bella didn't smile. Her eyes were cold.
"Protect me? Or hang up on the call when our child and I were dying?"
Eric panicked. In the dream, he shook his head desperately, trying to explain, trying to grab her hand.
"No... it's not like that... I know I was wrong..."
Bella picked up the ring. The next second, she threw it directly into the sea.
"Eric, I don't love you anymore. You make me sick."
With that, Bella turned around.
Behind her, the mercenary Alex walked out.
Alex wrapped his arm around her waist, shot a provocative glance at Eric, and then lowered his head to kiss Bella on the lips.
Bella closed her eyes and responded passionately, a sweet, genuine smile—one Eric hadn't seen in a long time—blooming on her face.
They walked away in each other's arms, their backs turned to him with finality.
Leaving Eric alone on the edge of the freezing cliff.
"No—!!"
"Bella! Don't go!!"
"Please, don't leave me!!"
