Abstract

Jacob, the male protagonist, had been adopted by Isabella, heir to a crime syndicate, for five years. He was originally groomed to be her successor. However, he was falsely accused of harboring inappropriate romantic feelings for his guardian. After Isabella became engaged, he was exiled to Alcatraz Island and subjected to prolonged cruel abuse. A year later, he was brought back, yet his mind and body had already been utterly broken by the torment. Manipulated by Sebastian, Isabella’s fiancé, and deeply wounded by Isabella’s cold-hearted cruelty, Jacob resolved to escape. It was not until Jacob was hospitalized with severe injuries that Isabella finally learned the full extent of the torture he had endured on Alcatraz Island. She also uncovered that Sebastian was the mastermind behind all the suffering. In the end, all the culprits received their just deserts. Carrying his scars yet holding new hope, Jacob embarked on a journey to find his mother and reclaim his freedom.
