After that day, I didn't hear from Ryan again.
Maybe my words had finally pissed him off enough.
I didn't care, and it didn't bother me.

But I hadn't expected Ryan to spend that time hunting me down relentlessly.
By the time I realized, he'd step by step tracked me to where I was.
He stopped just a few feet away from me,
as if waiting for me to do what I always did—walk right up to him and throw myself into his arms, full of love.
He stared down at me, confidence all over his face.
But I just looked away and walked right past him without a second glance.

“Vivian!”
He grabbed my wrist sharply, his voice gritting with anger near my ear.
I paused, meeting his gaze coldly.
Ryan said furiously, “Don't you have anything to say to me?”

“Why did you leave like that? Why break up out of nowhere?”
I shook off his hand hard. “You're the one who said we're done—why are you even asking?”
Breathing heavily, he snapped, “I never agreed to break up!”
My cold stare seemed to push him over the edge. He suddenly lunged forward, yanking my collar. “Vivian, what's with the act?”
“You love me so much—there's no way you actually want to break up!”
“So what if I ignored you for a month? You're just trying to get my attention!”
“I came all the way here to get you—what more do you want?”
“Don't forget, you still have the same couple tattoo—”
His words cut off abruptly, his face instantly pale.
The place where the tattoo matching the one over his heart should've been was now just an ugly scar.
He reached out, trembling, wanting to touch the scar, his lips quivering. “How could…”
I raised my hand and slapped him hard across the face.
The force made his cheek swell red instantly.
Rubbing my stinging palm, I stared coldly at him. “Have some self-respect.”
Ryan looked up at me, stunned, his eyes quickly turning red.
He seemed unable to believe that I—the one who used to panic if he stubbed his toe—would hit him like that.
But I felt no sympathy.
After fixing my collar, I didn't bother giving him another look and turned to leave.
But Ryan stubbornly blocked my path, desperately asking, “Why?”
So even now, he still didn't get it.
I let out a cold laugh. “Because Sue's Orchid Crown is your ‘love of my life,' not mine.”
“Ryan, since your true love is back, why are you still bothering me?”
“I'm doing you a favor by leaving—what more do you want?”
Ryan's eyes widened, and he took a step back in panic.
“How did you know…”
I had no desire to explain anymore and walked around him toward home.
Ryan didn't say another word.
But he didn't leave either—just followed me, dazed, all the way.
When I got to my door and was about to close it,
he suddenly yanked it back, frantic to explain. “Viv, it's not what you think! Okay, I lied at first, but later I really fell for you!”
“As for the tattoo…”
But he couldn't finish.
I cut him off, calm but firm. “It doesn't matter anymore. We're done.”
