I must go home!
Grayson rushed over, slapping my back while forcing his fingers into my mouth.
Struggling desperately, I was pinned down on sofa.
His fingers were bit crimson by my clenched teeth. He gasped in pain but wouldn’t let go, kicking me hard in the abdomen.
“You’re trying to kill yourself just because Joseph doesn’t want you?”
“Look at yourself — how are you even worthy of Joseph? I’m telling you, Scarlett and Joseph are meant to be!”
Grayson dragged me to the bathroom, turned on the faucet, and forced water into my stomach until I vomited everything up.
“Look at you now — where’s your dignity?”
Enduring the severe pain, I retorted,
“Dignity? Is that why you didn’t even ask for my side of the story before deciding I harmed Scarlett? And then kicked me when I was down?”
Grayson was immediately speechless.
Just then, the door suddenly burst open. Joseph rushed in anxiously.
“Lily, you b**ch! Did you hide Scarlett out of jealousy!?”
Grayson immediately glared at me angrily.
“No wonder you’re so eager to die — you’re trying to cover up your crime! Tell us where Scarlett is! Otherwise, I’ll personally send you to hell!”
How would I know where Scarlett went?
But I saw it as my chance to leave. Let them kill me!
Joseph slapped me across the face, grabbed my neck, and demanded fiercely,
“Where is Scarlett!?”
I looked up at my former fiancé — the man I had picked up from the streets — and felt a surge of regret.
Back then, I found him being chased by his rivals near a dumpster. Out of pity, I hid him in my home.
And he promised me the title of Mrs. Sterling, saying it wasn’t just out of gratitude, that he genuinely liked me and wanted to marry me.
But after Scarlett appeared, his attention shifted toward her.
They watched movies together, traveled together — as if they were the real couple.
When Scarlett released that video, Joseph — who had always been obedient to me — for the first time turned his dark connections against me.
He hung me mid-air and beat me with a wooden stick until I was covered in blood.
Now, seeing my continued silence, Joseph’s eyes flashed with cruelty.
“You won’t talk? Fine. Let’s see how long you can hold out.”
They tied me to a chair.
First, they injected me with a drug that kept me awake and amplified the pain.
I started to panic.
I just want to die — I don’t want to suffer before it!
As I struggled wildly, Grayson had already ripped off the nail of my little finger.
“Ah…”
It felt like my whole body was on fire. Yet I could only tremble in the chair, too weak to even scream.
“Kill me…”
“You think I won’t!? Talk now! Did you really think anyone would save you?”
“Even Xavier wants nothing to do with you. Do you think you’ll walk out of here alive?”
Grayson tore off another one of my fingernails, waving the bloodied nail triumphantly before my eyes.
Pale-faced, I delivered the final blow:
“I already killed Scarlett. Since you love her so much, why don’t you kill me to avenge her?”
Joseph’s eyes turned red with rage. He grabbed a nearby dagger and stabbed it toward my heart.
Before my consciousness faded, I thought I heard Scarlett and Xavier laughing and chatting outside the door.
“You’re all here! I was wondering where everyone was… Why is there so much blood…”
