I dropped him off at the destination, then left.
I had been so humble just to find a place to lick my wounds.
When I got home, I turned off the lights in my room and curled up in a shadowy corner.

Why could I control everything, but not my feelings?
Why did it still sting so much that they saw me as a mistress?
They all look down on me, think I'm cheap, and insult me with their words. Why couldn't I just brush it off?
I knew I shouldn't give my heart to any man ever again. I needed to rein in my feelings and stop being so hopelessly in love.
From that day on, besides working, I will also take the time to read books, especially some of the cool novels I like that have no romantic pairings. I want to completely free myself.
I proactively cut off all contact within the circle and set my messages to do not disturb. I filled my 24 hours with novels, music, movies, and traveling.

A week later, I finally felt a bit lighter. Once I'd started letting go, I realized that I wasn't hopeless.
Unexpectedly, I could also get rid of this"cancer."But before I could completely let go, Ethan came knocking on my door again.
"You haven't left the group chat?"
He waved his phone at me.

I replied,"No, I've just been very busy these days, so I set my messages to do not disturb. Haven't had the chance to check them."
"Doesn't matter. Get dressed. We're going to a party. Everyone in the group has been tagging you."Ethan gave me a bright smile.
There was also more tenderness in his eyes.
In the past, I didn't dare to look him in the eyes. My heart would always flutter like a deer.
But now, when I looked him in the eyes, I was surprisingly calm.
I smiled brightly, and a faint dimple appeared in the mirror. Chloe said that when I laughed heartily, I was ten times more beautiful than when I was shy and unable to speak my mind.
When I was shy, silent, and embarrassed, I looked very rustic and timid.
But when I was bright, cheerful, and carefree, I had a certain charm without even realizing it.
I smiled because I felt that I could finally let go of this relationship. So, instead of being reserved, I said to Ethan,"Okay, thank you. Bring Olivia with you. Let's have a drink together. She can drink, right?"
I asked sincerely, hoping that the delicate girl would also show up. After all, she was competing with me.
Ethan was stunned for a moment but was awakened by my words.
He quickly said,"Yes, she can drink."
I rushed back to my room and picked out a dress. It was an off-the-shoulder dress in a plain water blue color, with simple accessories.
The waist design was a bit monotonous, so I added a silver waistband, which made me look quite graceful.
That evening, when I drove there, everyone was already having a great time and chatting openly.
"Ethan, why are you looking so down? Olivia just went to the restroom and will be back soon. Do you miss her already?"
"Mr. Ethan, where's that mistress? We've been tagging her like crazy in the group, and she still hasn't shown up. How can we have fun without her?"
"Lily is the mistress that Mr. Ethan himself branded her as! Hahaha. Is the mistress too chicken to show up?"
This circle really treats me like a joke.
Although I'd grown more resilient, just thinking about revealing my feelings before still makes me feel embarrassed.
Having a crush on Ethan was indeed embarrassing.when that secret came out, it felt like I'd been stripped bare and paraded in front of everyone.
Just then, Chloe's voice rang out,"How is Lily a mistress? She just had a sincere crush on someone and silently played the role of a devoted admirer for ten years. She guarded her feelings for ten years. Ethan has only been in a relationship for a few months. Lily didn't come out to steal the man, didn't go crazy chasing after him all over the world, and didn't attack Olivia. She just happened to have her secret known. It's a rare unrequited love. Why is she being labeled as a mistress? Has she done anything inappropriate in her actions?"
I was quite surprised. Chloe speaking up for me meant she was offending a lot of people.
Although the Davis family was a bit wealthier than my uncle's company, they couldn't afford to make too many enemies like this.
I grabbed the hem of my dress and rushed in...
