Sarah stormed into our house with a group, demanding a divorce.
Mom slammed the table."Divorce?Give us back the$100,000 dowry first!"
"I gave your family a son—that dowry's mine,"Sarah sneered."You hid James's condition fromme—that's fraud.You killed my son.I can send you all to jail."

James stepped forward."Sarah, after all we've been through, don't push it."
"Push it?I'll let it slide if you give me the diner.Otherwise,I'll sue."
Mom gritted her teeth."My diner?INo way!"
She spat in Sarah's face.Sarah's expression darkened.
"Mom,don't get mad,"James whispered, pulling at her sleeve."Let her have the diner to cool off.I'll win her back, and she'll give you another grandson."
Sarah overheard and laughed."James, are you naive or just stupid?I'm done.No diner, and you're all going to jail."

James couldn’t believe his ears.
"I told you not to marry that vixen,"Mom said, shielding him."Want my diner?Over my dead body!"
She shoved Sarah hard, raising her hand to slap her.
Sarah's men stepped in,protecting her.

Mom screamed,"Murder!Murder!"
A brawl broke out.
Sarah sued James for fraud and manslaughter, filing for divorce and moving out.
Mom cursed her every day, wishing her a horrible death.
James holed up,gaming nonstop in his room,he neither ate nor slept.
He finally collapsed and ended up in the hospital.
"It's all Claire's fault,"Mom sobbed, watching James on the bed with tubes all over him."If she'd donated her kidney to Tommy,we wouldn't be like this."
"Son,eat something.Seeing you like this breaks my heart."
She cried.
James not eating made her this sad?
But when I died,she didn't shed a tear.
Mom,you're too biased.
Curled up in bed,James wailed,"Mom,it hurts.I want Sarah back."
Mom's face soured at Sarah's name."I'll find you a better wife—a prettier,more obedient one."
James threw a fit,he said he wanted no one but Sarah, or he’ll discharge himself.
Exasperated,Mom called Sarah.
"Sarah,dear..."
The call was cut off.Her smile vanished."That little vixen's got the nerve."
"Mom..."James whimpered,staring.
She took a deep breath and called again. This time,Sarah answered.
"Sarah,come home.James misses you."
Sarah was firm."I'm divorcing him."
Mom forced a smile."Couples fight and make up.The diner's for James—you'll help run it someday."
Sarah wasn't fooled."Your son's sick—that's a fact. The court will grant my divorce and give me the diner as compensation."
Mom screamed at the phone,"Go to hell! The diner's mine!Keep harassing my son,and I'll have someone break your legs!"
She hung up,fists clenched.
"Don't think about Sarah anymore,or I'll die in front of you!"
It was the first time she snapped at her precious son.
James shrank back, eyes full of resentment.
