No wonder Jessica came back—she couldn’t let go.
Ethan said her parents forced her to leave him back then;she had no choice.
Their misunderstandings cleared, they fell back in love, passionately.

During this period of time, he will accompany her and tell me not to wait for him any longer. But I couldn’t help it.I had to witness their bliss.
The next day,I trailed them like a rat.
They visited a church, hung a love lock, and vowed eternal love.
They hiked, ate barbecue, and cuddled watching a movie at night.
“Jessica, these seven years,I thought of you every day.”
“Sarah means nothing to me—just a pathetic follower.”

“As long as you love me, even if I die, I will still be very happy..”
“If you die,I’ll follow you…”
In the dim theater, they kissed in the front row, lost in love.
I sat in the back, crying silently, covering my mouth.

Sarah Thompson, will you keep playing the clown?Keep being pathetic?
The day I decided to give up, but then Ethan called me.
“Sarah, can you come to the hospital for a compatibility test?”
Jessica was critical, and he’d found no matching kidney donors.
He wanted me to save her.
Coincidentally, my kidney matches hers—the only me.
He knelt in front of me and kept crying.
“Sarah,I’m begging you to save Jessica.”
“Are you joking me .Why should I save her?I’m not a saint.”
He crawled forward,haggard.
“You love me, right? Save her,and I’ll marry you.”
A kidney for a marriage—was it worth it?
I agonized,torn.
I’m terrified of pain and I unable to imagine losing a kidney.
Ethan kowtowed repeatedly and humbled himself.
“If Jessica dies,I can’t go on living.”
“Sarah,I’ll never see her again after we married, I sweared.”
“I’ll be devoted to you,or may lightning strike me!”
His passion was moving, but not for me…
I didn’t look at his tearful face, only at the prayer bead bracelet.
He’d given it to me,but he didn’t remember.
After a moment,I agreed.He smiled happyly.
“Keep this secret.Don’t tell Jessica—it might upset her.”
“Fine.Keep your promise.Don’t lie to me.”
During surgery, the pain was excruciating, even with anesthesia.
The cold scalpel sliced inside me. This is very terrifying.
I cried helplessly and remembered Ethan ten years ago…
In the past,I sold pomegranates near school,my joy seeing him.
He was handsome,and I’d blush.
Each time he bought pomegranates,I’d sneak him more pomegranates. He’d shyly accept.
Later,he saw my foster father beating me,learning how miserable my life was.
“What’s it to you if I gamble or lose money?”
“You’re a burden,eating my food,drinking my water.I shouldn’t have taken you in.”
I was unwanted,born to suffer.
Ethan witnessed this situation and stopped the beating, and slipped me money.
“You should leave your family .It's better to go anywhere than to stay at home.”
