Jessica's voice trembled, unwilling to seem scared, but Ethan cut her off.
"Everyone,get out."
"And,trash,you're leaving too.What's my dinner?"
I turned, sighing deeply as I shut the door.
"Out of cash?"
"No,but.."
"Speak plainly."
"After that tragic story, shouldn't a billionaire CEO pity me and drown me in money?"
"Read less garbage novels."
"Also,I set up a private account.$500,000 for your good storytelling."
"Oh."
Somehow,Ethan warmed up to me.Even Mr.Collins said I was special to him.
Sister, see?Your pride, integrity, and youthful crush got you ruined.
She and I were never the same.Facing their humiliation, she helf her chin high.
She refused to let her admiration for Ethan be judged or her humble roots be a fault.
But those lunatics infected her with their madness.
In her letter, she said she knew Jessica was being absurd, and Ethan loathed her moves.
Her mind fervent with loe,she thought doing something drastic would make him see his feelings.
My opinion? She had read too many melodramatic stories.
She thought she was a tragic heroine. In reality, she was a smart alec, a humble servant.
Her breaking point was Jessica's birthday party.
Jessica, feigning an apology, spiked her drink and recorded her doing it a stranger.
Ethan could forget their past, others could bully her for her lack of status, but that video was the final straw.
Worse,Jessica had it uploaded online, which sparked harassment.Ethan banned her from the estate.
My sister, mustering courage, said she'd quit.Ethan, mocking, shoved the video in front of her.
"With this out, who'd marry you? They'll see a vain gold-digger dancing with foreigners.Think exposing us abroad will get you justice?Where's your proof?Who'd believe a fallen woman?"
She gave in.The more humiliated she felt, the more excited they got.
Then,suddenly,she changed.
For Jessica's money,she danced provocatively,wore explicit clothes,did worse.
As cash poured into my account,I prepared to close the shop and go find her.
But my father slapped me hard.
"Don't think I don't know your sister's been sending you money.Like this shop, you'll cough it all up."
"She's a gold mine now.Don't try to cut my income!"
Bruised,I packed to leave, only to be stopped by three men I'd clashed with years ago.
