Linda snatched the phone."You brat, where are you?Hanging out with bad kids, lying, sneaking around—get back here now!"
Greg roared,"Come home, and see how I deal with you!"
Truth out,Linda and Greg realized their mistake, trying to slip away.

"Officers, this couple wrecked my home, slandered me,told everyone untrue things about me live. You just gonna let them leave?"
Linda and Greg were taken to the station, and I went to give a statement.
Within half an hour,Sophie appeared.
Linda slapped her shoulder."You brat, making us search so long.A good kid, corrupted. You're our only child—if you can’t succeed, our lives are over."
Sophie,in heavy makeup,hair messy,wore a wrinkled dress,hickeys glaring.Her resentful eyes flicked to me.
"Mom,I was just at Emily's birthday. Why the fuss?I was downstairs buying a drink—that's why you couldn't find me."

I admired her nerve, lying even now.
Greg, less patient than Linda, slapped her hard."I slave on construction sites to fund your education, and this is how you repay me?I even bragged about your obedience!"
Sophie, clutching her face, sobbed, glaring at me with hate, though I'd done nothing.
Linda shoved Greg."Don’t hit her.She’s just a kid.When you're old,she'll remember this.Who'll care for you then?"

Shameless.She’s only a kid,and I’m not?
I deserved to pay for her lies with my life?
Using my videos and purchase records, police soon made a case against them and started appraising losses.
Sophie's family gaped at the compensation amount, yelling at the station.
"We smashed only some vases,a fish tank, tore a few paintings—how could that beover a million?"
Learning the items were antiques and luxury goods,Greg spat."Junk, trying to extort me.I'll get my crew to deal with you,you wretch."
Despite me being his daughter's age,Greg's words dripped venom.
The officer looked at me with pity, warning them that such behavior could lead to criminal charges.
Linda wailed, but went silent hearing she might face jail.
"Emily,we're friends.I'm sorry. My parents were just worried. Please forgive them,"Sophie pretended to plead, but her eyes betrayed her.
I shrugged,smiling."This is just property damage.Your dad's slandering me live,breaking in,assaulting me—I won't sign for a settlement.Get ready to bring him meals in jail!"
