The baby, tipping the scales at over ten pounds, suckled at my sister-in-law's breast with the vigor of a little calf. Soon, she let out a cry of shock.
I followed her gaze and saw that her clothes were already soaked with blood. The baby didn't seem to notice and continued to suck frantically on her.
Emily pushed the baby aside. She was in so much pain that tears welled up in her eyes. "He's so big and strong. he's sucked so hard he's broken the skin and caused bleeding. It hurts terriblly."

The baby couldn't get any milk and started crying again. My mother, feeling sorry for the child, slapped Emily hard across the face.
"What are you doing? It's just a little cut. It's not a big deal? If you go on starving my grandson, see how I'll deal with you."
"The baby is strong, it means he's healthy. If it weren't for me insisting you taking in so many nutritions, how could my grandson have grown so well? You complain about a little pain from breastfeeding," she added.
At the mention of the sweets, my sister-in-law's expression changed again.
She had listened to my mother's words, despite her gestational diabetes. She niow ended up with a macrosomic baby. My mother not only didn't let her have a cesarean section but also caused her body to be severely damaged. She could no longer have children and had almost died during the operation. So now, she had no affection for this child at all. Instead, she transferred her hatred for my mother to the child.
She covered her head with a cup and said coldly, "Let him Let him drink whatever he wants. It has nothing to do with me."

Seeing that my sister-in-law was uncooperative,my mother pointed at her nose and cursed,"You good-for-nothing!Just because you gave birth to a child for our family, you think you're something special? You'd better be obedient,or I'll tell my son to kick you out.Now that you can't have children anymore,no one will want you,you jinx!"
No matter how much my mother cursed,my sister-in-law just kept silent.
My mother finally noticed me standing at the door observing. She waved at me and ordered, "Fiona, go buy a few cans of milk powder for your nephew. Remember to get the best ones. My grandson can't drink inferior milk."
I sneered, "Weren't you just calling me an ungrateful dog? Would you dare to let your precious grandson drink the milk powder bought by me? Aren't you afraid it will harm your little prince?"

My mother's chest heaved with anger."His father has been sent to jail by you.If you don't take care of this child, who will?Don't think you can get rid of us.I'll haunt you for the rest of your life!"
I retorted, "Bring it on. Every time you come near me, I'll call the police. I don't care. I'd like to see if your precious grandson can withstand all this trouble."
With that, I turned around and left without looking back.
Once home, I immediately changed my address, afraid that my mother and the others would come looking for me again. Now, I just wanted to live a peaceful life.
Fortunately,my mother was too busy taking care of her precious grandson to remember that she even had a daughter like me.
The next time I heard about their family was when my cousin came to complain to me specifically.
She said that when she went to visit after my sister-in-law gave birth, but before she even entered the house, she could hear a huge commotion inside.
When she walked in, she was shocked. The once-tidy home looked like a battlefield, with everything smashed to pieces. There wasn't a single piece of furniture left intact.
The baby was crying loudly. My mother was trying to soothe the huge baby, panting heavily. The baby was just one month old, but my mother looked like she had aged twenty years, her appearance haggard and worn out.
And Emily was sitting on the sofa with her legs crossed, playing with her phone, ignoring the baby's cries completely.
As soon as my mother saw my cousin, she started to pour out her grievances on her. She said that Emily was no good at all, refusing to breastfeed the baby and ignoring all his needs as if she were deaf and blind
The baby, for some unknown reason, got sick frequently. In just one month since his birth, he had already been admitted into the hospital more than a dozen times. The doctor said it was because of the mother's gestational diabetes during pregnancy, which caused the baby to have a poor constitution.
When it came to this, my mother spat on the ground. "The doctor is talking nonsense. My grandson is so big. How could he have a poor constitution? He even asked me to give the baby a comprehensive physical examination. Everyone knows those medical instruments have radiation. What if it affects my grandson's development? Doctors just want to make money. None of them are any good."
My mother kept cursing, but my cousin could still tell at a glance that although the baby was big, he looked listless. A one-month-old baby should be able to focus on people, but this one couldn't.
