Looking at his disgusting face, I didn't know where I got the strength from, but I struggled to get up from the ground and pushed him down with all my might.
"You're useless, but still wanting to covet my money. Let me make it clear to you, forget about my money! I’d rather donate everything than give you a single cent."
With eyes burning with fire, he pounced on me and pinned me down, choking my neck with both hands.

Emily egged him on from the side.
"Beat her to death! She doesn't even care about her own nephew. What's the use of keeping such an ungrateful dog? Just kill her and get it over with."
My brother's grip on my neck became tighter and tighter and couldn't breathe. Just when I was about to pass out, the door was suddenly knocked loudly.
It was a deep male voice outside the door.
"We're the police.Open the door quickly!"
When my brother heard the voice of the police, he quickly covered my mouth, afraid that the police would notice my presence.

"Officer, why are you here?" he replied.
The police outside the door were still shouting, "We received a report that there is a fight here. Open the door quickly so we can check it out."
My brother rolled his eyes. "That's not the fact, sir. It's just had a little family dispute, and it's already been solved. You can go back now."
The police obviously didn't believe what my brother said and urged outside the door, "Open the door quickly. After we confirm that there's no problem, we'll leave."

My brother hesitated, knowing that if the police came in and saw me in my current state, he would be in big trouble.
The police got impatient. "I’m counting down. If you don't open the door in three seconds, we'll take compulsory measures."

Just then, taking advantage of their lack of vigilance on me, I rushed over and flung the door open.
From the shocked eyes of the police, I guessed that I must have looked very terrible at that time.
My face was swollen from the slap, and there were still the footprints on my chest, along with the red marks on my neck where my brother had choked me. I had many scratches all over my body, and my hair was in a mess.
I grabbed the policeman's arm, unable to say a word but pointing at my neck with tears in my eyes, silently pleading for help.
The police immediately understood. They protected me behind them and held up their electric batons, shouting at my brother, "Is this what you call an family dispute? If we had come a little later, there might have been a fatality!"
My mother quickly stepped forward to smooth things over.
"Officer, you're exaggerating. Every family has its fights. They just got a little carried away. It's nothing serious."
The police couldn't stand it anymore and sternly scolded, "Does this look like fight? Clearly it's one-sided beating. Now all of you come with me to the police station. If it's intentional harm, you'll have to go to jail."
When my mother heard that they might go to jail, she immediately became anxious and started to act shamelessly, pulling the policeman and protesting, "I said it was just a joke. Why do we have to go to jail? This is what the ungrateful girl deserves. Her pregnant sister-in-law was in the hospital last night, but she refused to pay the bills. Her brother was just teaching her a lesson. Why does it bother you policemen?"
Emily, with her big belly, joined my mother, adding, "That's right. Do you have evidence of intentional injury? Or do you policemen just believe someone's one-sided story and hence send my husband to jail? I think you're acting evilly in collusion with her."
Seeing the policemen were silent, Emily thought she had hit a nerve and became even more triumphant.
"We've already said that it's just a fight between siblings. My mother is the witness. Since there's no other evidence, let's just get it over."
I suddenly spoke up and pointed at the camera in the corner. "Who says I don't have evidence?" I held up my phone towards the police. "I have the playback of what just happened on my phone. This is the evidence."
