Chloe screamed and fell down in a pool of blood. She reached out to me.
"Emma, save…me! Save me!"
Before I could speak, two men in black jumped from the car, beating her really hard.
"Chloe, you deserve to die! Because of you, we're homeless! I'll kill you!"
I was so scared that I got in my car and drove away fast. At the exit of the parking lot, I met the police.
"There's a murder in there!"
I told them everything that happened. They arrested the men and checked the security cameras. What I said matched what was on the cameras. Chloe was taken out covered in a white sheet. She was dead.
Later, Sophia told me the attackers were from the company that was bankrupted because of Chloe and Daniel's scheme. They'd killed Daniel first and then stalked Chloe. They both died on the same day.
"They got what they deserved, Emma. Don't feel bad."
Sophia said without showing much emotion. I knew she hated them as much as I did, but I was a bit suspicious about her giving me the shares.
"Mrs. Reed, you're not..."
She looked at me, smiling wryly.
"Emma, you're smart. Even without your videos, I knew about their plot. In the last life, I made a mistake. I acted too quickly and hurt both of us.
My eyes welled up with tears. It was the first time I had cried since I was reborn.
Sophia hugged me, apologizing. I shook my head—she was a victim too, and I forgave her.
Now Daniel and Chloe were dead, their killers facing execution. Sophia and I were the winners.
We didn't have any bad feelings from the past anymore.
"Mrs. Reed, we'll be happy from now on."
We looked at each other, tears turning into smiles.
