A passenger’s voice came from nearby.
I recognized him.In my past life,he sat in economy near the wing.During the crash,he nearly got thrown out,but I held onto him tightly.
Now,he was talking to Emma,who was passing by.
Emma rolled her eyes at him.
“We’re all out!”she snapped.
“I really need a blanket.Please see if you can find one.”he insisted,sensing her deliberate rudeness.
“Sir,we’ve run out of blankets.And just so you know,they’re not free.Even if you used one,you can’t keep it,”she said with a fake smile,her tone dripping with disdain.
“What are you talking about?”The man’s face flushed,clutching his chest.
“Don’t go causing trouble for no reason!”Emma scolded.
“Cheapskate,”she muttered under her breath.
“You—”The man was too furious to speak.
“Sir,here’s your blanket,”I said,approaching with one and gently draping it over him.
He gave me a grateful look.
“How pathetic,”Emma sneered at me before sashaying toward the cockpit.
She was clearly planning to mess around with James again.Rage boiled inside me.
I chased after her and grabbed her arm.
“What do you think you're doing?”she asked,startled.
“That’s exactly what I want to ask you!”I snapped,my tone sharp.
It was the off-season,and first class was empty.
“Claire,I need to talk to James about something!”she said,softening her tone when she saw my serious expression.
“Talk?Or fool around?”
Her face froze as I exposed her intentions.
“According to aviation regulations,only the chief flight attendant and designated first-class crew can enter the cockpit,and only when summoned by the pilot!”
“You meet neither of those requirements. Entering now is a serious threat to flight safety!”
“You couldn't care less about the passengers’ safety at all!”
Fueled by the anger of my past life,I unleashed on her,gripping her arm tightly.
“Let go of me!A plane full of nobodies isn’t worth worrying about!If they die,good—maybe they’ll reincarnate into first class next time!”
Her callous words pushed me over the edge.I slapped her hard across the face.
She stumbled backward,clutching her cheek,and landed on the floor with a thud.
