When Michael comes over, I leans against Ryan and ask: "What's up?"
"You two...Amanda,how could you!"
I find it ridiculous.

"Why not? You're already married. Do you still want to control who I date? Don't be so double-standard!"
When he heard my sarcasm, Michael's face turns green. "I know I was wrong, but no matter what, you can't be with him. Do you know his background? He worked as a male model in a club!"
So he knows it.
I shrug."Yes. You went to the clubhouse on Valentine's Day,and so did I. You ordered a girl, and I ordered him."
"Look, he's hotter than you, and his figure is better too."
Hearing this,Michael points at me, trembling: "Amanda, you bitch!"

He comes up to beat me, but Ryan kicks him away.
"How dare you scold her! Amanda is mine, and she's purer than anyone else!"
"I was just working. Do you really think I'm as dirty as you? Disgusting!"
"Geezer, go home and take care of your baby and wash diapers. You stink!"

After saying this, he hugs me and walks away, leaving Michael behind, trembling and struggling to get up.
I laugh. Then I pull him closer, wrapping my arms around his neck. "Tell me the truth. Don't lie to me. Where did you get the money to buy that necklace?"
Ryan's face turned pale. "Babe, I'm sorry. I just didn't want to use my family's money, so I went out to work part-time."
"Who knew I would meet you. Now that I have you, I'll definitely work hard to make money and take care of you and our future children!"
After his stuttering explanation, I just laugh.
"Amanda, will you promise to be with me?"
I raise my eyebrows. "I'll see how you perform. If you do well, I'll say yes!"
"I will definitely perform well!" Ryan is excited and carries me upstairs to the bedroom.
I'm startled."What are you doing!"
"Of course I'm going to show you my best performance!"
His kiss comes crashing down, overwhelming me and making it impossible for me to break free.
Only then has I realized what he meant. This guy didn't show me any mercy. After several rounds, I'm completely exhausted and I beg for mercy.
After I got together with Ryan, my parents are still skeptical. "Can he take good care of you? He's so young."
"It's okay. As the saying goes, 'A wife three years older brings good fortune.' I'm his lucky charm, and he's a great partner!"
My father is frustrated. "Amanda, you're being infatuated again!"
I don't care. "It's fine. Anyway, we signed a prenuptial agreement. Even if something happens in the future, I won't suffer a loss."
My father sighs and shrugs. "Fine. Do as you like. I can't control you anymore."
He has finally given in. But Ryan doesn't let him down. He starts his own business, and without my investment, he makes it a great success. He even gives me all the profits.
"Babe, my money is yours. I feel at ease with you by my side."
Snuggled in his arms, I still find it hard to believe.
What did I do to deserve Ryan?
Maybe it was just fate.
A year later, we get engaged and then married. Later, we have our own child.
On another Valentine's Day, Ryan comes back from work with two bouquets of flowers. He hands one to me and a small bouquet to our daughter. "See, I treat you both equally, no one is overlooked!"
"Happy Valentine's Day to my big baby—and happy Valentine's Day to my little one, too!"
I hug him with my daughter: "Happy Valentine's Day, dear!"
Epilogue
I was a small-town high-achiever. After getting into university in New York City, I met a girl who took my breath away. But the gap between our families made me back off. I never expected her to be so warm-hearted and bold. She was determined to be with me, regardless of everything.
On our wedding day, I silently swore I'd give her the world. But I overestimated myself. After I got rich, so many beautiful girls came after me. My buddies also advised me,"Keep the wife at home happy while having some fun outside. Which successful man doesn't have a mistress these days?"
I thought they were right. Besides, Amanda didn't seem like a jealous person. So I was tempted by finding some girls at the club. Since Amanda didn't find it out, I even brought a good-looking one to the company.
I thought Amanda knew nothing, but in the end, she did. She didn't hesitate at all, immediately asking for a divorce.
I was angry and agreed to the divorce, thinking that once her anger subsided, I could persuade her to come back. After all, she had been crazy about me before.
I overestimated myself again. After dumping me, Amanda married a young hunk. He turned out to be the young master of a wealthy family, a perfect match for her.
Fast forward one more Valentine's Day: I see them strolling down the street—Amanda, her new husband, their little one in tow. I slip on my mask, clutch a tray of dishes for an errand, and watch them from a distance.
Amanda, you deserved so much better than me—and I deserved exactly what I got.
