Even Nathan glanced over.
Would he know it was me?
Despite the garish makeup,we'd lived together for two years…
I blinked desperately at him, tears spilling from my eyes.
He started walking toward me.
Evan pinned me in his arms, chuckling."Sorry, my pet's being naughty."
Nathan stopped.
Panicked, I made muffled noises through the gag, shaking my head.
Don't stop. Come closer.
He seemed to sense something, staring at me, puzzled.
"Your eyes…they look like my girlfriend's."
I nodded frantically.
Evan covered my eyes, sneering." Nathan, I saw her first. You stealing her?"
The crowd jeered.
"Nathan, that's against the rules."
"Brothers over women."
"Money decides here. Evan, cut him a deal."
"Fine,"Evan drawled, taunting."Trade Zoe for her?"
Nathan didn't respond.
Zoe's voice grew closer.
"Nathan, how could she be your girlfriend? Would your girlfriend work as a server here?"
" Yeah, "Nathan sighed." Sissy wouldn't wear this makeup or these clothes."
"My Sissy's probably asleep at home, waiting for me."
Evan's hand lifted from my eyes.
Nathan strode away.
Before leaving, he glanced at Evan and shouted to the room," Deepwater Bomb, on me!"
The suite erupted in chaos.
Evan went wild, dragging me to a small room, tormenting me like a maniac.
"Nathan didn't recognize you. Hurts, huh?"
I stared, shocked.
He laughed, his smile hollow.
"He toys with Zoe, I toy with you. Fair."
I tried to scream for help, but nothing came out.
Staring at the swaying ceiling, I drifted.
At some point, I thought I heard Nathan's voice.
He kicked the door open, glanced at me, then turned away.
"Evan, that's enough. Don't kill her."
I laughed through tears.
Time blurred.
My phone rang repeatedly.
Maybe Nathan got home and noticed I wasn't there?
"Guess who's calling?"
Evan flashed the screen—Boyfriend stung my eyes—then shut it off.
I was such a fool.
I believed Nathan loved me, believed he'd fainted from overwork on construction sites.
I ached for him, so much that I compromised my principles to earn quick money for our wedding.
What a joke.
My head throbbed, my body ached.
After being shocked unconscious multiple times, someone knocked.
"Nathan's back. Deepwater Bomb, you in?"
I was dragged back to the suite.
Nathan, furious, kicked the coffee table, spilling wine.
Someone stammered," We didn't start yet. No one touched her."
Zoe slinked into Nathan's arms, cooing ,Nathan…I only want you. I don't want the game."
Nathan sneered, his cold lips parting."Then why take the crown?"
The room roared with laughter. Nathan joined in, his eyes cruel.
"Zoe, every gift has a price. You take it, you play."
Zoe looked up, kissing his neck.
"I want you to be first."
This time, Nathan didn't push her away, looking satisfied.
He shot me a warning look." Don't kill her. It's a mess."
Evan cursed," Play your game, leave me alone."
Nathan's face darkened.
"You want to be her first instead of me?"
Evan shook his head."Not my thing."
Then an electric prod shocked my entire body.
Until my heart stopped.
