In the early hours of the morning, around two o'clock,I stared at the address on the food delivery order in a daze.To my surprise,it was a funeral parlor located five kilometers away from the urban area. This funeral parlor was situated beside a desolate mountain and had been abandoned for three years.
I called the number on the order to confirm the address, but no one answered.I attempted to transfer the order to someone else, yet no one was willing to take on this eerie assignment.
I remember it was a summer night. At that time,I was making deliveries in the urban area.Just after completing one delivery,I received a new order. The moment I opened it,I was instantly stunned.

The delivery fee for this order was as high as twenty dollars. However, the problem was that the delivery location was an abandoned funeral parlor that was a full five kilometers away from the city center.
It was already past one o'clock in the early morning, and I was in the suburbs of the city, which was already close to the wilderness.Eighty percent of the journey there was an uninhabited desolate area, and to make matters worse, the destination was a funeral parlor.
I'm not a brave person,so I tried to transfer the order. But after a while, the order came back to me because no one was willing to take it.
What else could I do now?Besides delivering the food obediently, there was no other option.
The order was from a fried rice restaurant. When I arrived at the restaurant and was waiting for the order to be prepared,I told the boss about this situation.
"What?Dongshan Funeral Parlor? The one that has been abandoned for three years?!"

"Yeah, maybe someone was just joking and chose this location for the order."
I voiced my thoughts, but the restaurant owner looked solemn and said to me,"Xiao Li,don't deliver this order. It's better to pay a fine than to take the risk."
I sensed the underlying meaning in the boss's words and asked in confusion,"Boss,is there something wrong with this funeral parlor?"
"Yes,and it's a big problem.Do you know why this funeral parlor closed down in the first place?"

"I don't know."
"There was a terrible tragedy that occurred in that funeral parlor. One night, everyone in the entire funeral parlor died a violent death. In the end,the police investigation concluded that these people all ate poisonous mushrooms, which caused them to have hallucinations and eventually be scared to death. After this incident, the funeral parlor went out of business, and no one dared to take it over."
The restaurant owner's words sent chills down my spine. However, even so,I still shook my head and refused the boss's advice.
If I don't complete a food delivery order, the platform will deduct a lot of money. What I need most right now is money,so even if I'm scared,I have to take this order.
After understanding my intention, the restaurant owner could only sigh helplessly and wish me good luck.
Soon, the fried rice was ready.I took the food and left the restaurant.Just as I was about to leave, the restaurant owner suddenly said something rather strange behind me.
"If you hear someone calling you while delivering the food, never look back, especially when you know for sure that there can't be anyone you know in this area."
I didn't take this words to heart. After saying goodbye to the boss,I headed towards the abandoned Dongshan Funeral Parlor.
After leaving the urban area, the speed of my motorcycle suddenly increased. At this time of night, there wouldn't be many cars in this area. The five-kilometer journey seemed long, but at my full speed,it shouldn't take too much time.
There were no streetlights on the road ahead.I turned on the headlights, and the illuminated road ahead, combined with the dimly lit woods around, made the scene seem rather eerie for a moment.
