Just minor scrapes, thankfully.
But her "helper" had insisted on taking her to the hospital for a full examination.
She leaned against me, voice soft.
I didn't dare tell her the truth—if she had been pregnant then, even if perfectly healthy, she would have been told "a human body can't handle a werewolf fetus, something's wrong," then rushed into "emergency surgery."
I loathed everything about Thornfield.
But I couldn't break free yet. Could only play along, desperately accumulating power.
One day Vivienne burst into my office, excitedly claiming she was the one who had saved me years ago.
"So?" I didn't bother hiding my impatience. "Want a medal or something?"
I already knew the truth.
After discovering Aria genuinely had no memory of saving me, I'd investigated.
"Don't you understand? Aria never saved you! I'm the one you should be grateful to! Aria's nothing but a thief!"
I stared at her like she was the village idiot.
"You were just afraid of being blamed for not helping, so you called an ambulance. And you've tormented Aria for years. Repay you? In your dreams."
She fell silent.
"But I did save you. You're so ungrateful..."
I cut her off with a harsh laugh—
"Then I'll gladly burn in hell."
I warned her: "I don't want anyone else to know about this."
"You know what I'm capable of. So watch your fucking mouth!"
I couldn't let Aria find out and start doubting everything again.
Not long after, Vivienne called me late at night, claiming she'd been drugged.
Begged me to help her for "old times' sake."
"..."
Absurd.
Told her to call the police. Blocked her number.
Two hours later she called from Dorian's phone.
Said she'd run into Dorian at a bar and discovered something interesting.
She held the phone close to Dorian—
My best friend, completely wasted, murmuring "Aria" with unmistakable longing...
Damn it!
That bastard!!
Any Alpha would have lost it!!
I stormed the bar and beat him half to death!
