Chapter 54 PAINFUL

Hannah and Adam decided to go downstairs to ask her parents if they can go outside and walk around the village since Hannah missed everything around her. After 5 years of sleeping, now she's awakened and she wanted to see some changes outside.
While stepping down, they saw familiar faces in the living room. They go straight to the living room and they saw Hannah's parents talking to Vhiann's parents. Hannah and Adam greeted them happily.
"Hi uncle, auntie Good morning. We're glad you're here," they both greeted. They sat down to the sofa facing them.
"Ohh Adam. It's you, you're one of Hannah and Vhiann's friends, right?" Adrian asked him looking at his familiar face.
"Yes uncle, where's Vhiann? Is she with you? It's a long time ago when we last saw your daughter," Adam answered. Adrian's eyebrows met when Adam asked him that way. "Ohhh uncle, why are you looking at me like that? Is there anything wrong with what I asked you? I'm sorry," Adam apologized.
"Vhiann is not with us, Adam, Hannah. Vhiann lost her phone on the plane with your contact numbers. She tried to find you on social media but you are not active there. Our phones were snatched when we are walking on the street, it was stolen by someone we don't know and he also get some of my jewelries. We lost your contact number," Jill, Vhiann's mother explained.
"Ohhh sorry to hear that auntie, uncle. May I ask where my best friend is? Is she going back here too, just like you?" Hannah asked. "We missed her so much right Mom? Dad? Adam? I'm so excited to be with her again," she added in an excited tone.
The three nodded. Hannah is right.
"We want to see Vhiann and visit her from where she is that's why Hannah is asking," Innah said happily.
"They are right, where is your daughter by the way?" Harold followed his wife's question.
Jill and Adrian bowed down their heads and started to cry. With their reaction, the four felt something bad.
"Hey auntie, uncle! Why are you crying? Is there something bad happened to my best friend?" Hannah asked while Innah and Harold pampered the two and hugged them to stop them crying.
Hannah and Adam still don't know why they are crying but they have an instinct that something bad happened to their friend. They let Vhiann's parents to open up about it.
"Until now... we can't move on. It's been three years when Vhiann left us," they said.
"What? Where did she go? Did she tell you when she'll come back?" Adam asked knowing that Vhiann just left their house. He was shocked when Hannah lends her head to his shoulder.
"Our daughter died three (3) years ago. She was drowned in the ocean when we are about to spend our vacation in one of the famous islands, she had searched in google. We didn't know that the yacht we used has failing machine," Adrian explained.
"When we are at the middle of the ocean, the ocean gave us a huge and its strongest wave. The pilot admitted that the machine goes out of control. So, the yacht over turns and sinks then suddenly explode," Jill discussed in a low energy tone and suddenly tears fall down into her face because of sadness.
"It was night when that happened, the sky is dark and we weren't able to see each other at the middle of the mad ocean. We weren't able to prepare things for that kind of emergency because we knew that everything was checked clearly and we can safely sail, we didn't able to wear protective gear like vest and anything needed in case of emergency."
"Luckily, the three of us had held parts of the yacht. At first, we knew that we can all survived because we are talking that moment. When the sun shines, they had rescued us and bring us to the hospital," Adrian exclaimed.
"When I opened my eyes, I was at the middle of two beds at the right is the bed where my husband is lying, and the other side where someone is lying but covered with white cloth. Adrian and I looked at each other and we both believe that our daughter survived from the accident. We looked around and we saw Vhiann smiling at us and said, "I love you Mom, Dad! I'm glad you're both in good condition now."
We both closed our eyes and took a deep breath and said, "Thank God, our daughter is fine, very very fine" We opened our eyes and ask the doctor if she saw our daughter, but she answered us with a question, "Who?"
"Then, we described what her last attire looks like. "She is wearing floral off-shoulder dress but majority of the color is black. The doctor repeated what we said, a lady wearing floral off-shoulder dress? That's her," she pointed out at the bed which we saw someone whole body covered with white cloth.
"Sorry to tell you but we weren't able to save your daughter, however the rescuer told us that the pilot of your yacht is still missing," she added.
We both shouted at them, we saw her a while ago, she said I love you mom, dad I'm glad you're in a good condition. How dare you say that? You, liar get out of our face! We didn't believe what the doctor said, but the nurses injected something on us that's why we both fell asleep," Adrian discussed.
"When we woke up, they showed us our daughter's dead body. We both tried to get up in our bed to hug our daughter but they don't allow us because we are both under observation. I tried to remove the cloth to see her face because I have doubt that the person lying on that bed is not Vhiann. But they stopped me from doing that, they did everything to avoid me. My poor baby," Jill cried like a kid and no one can stop her shedding tears for her daughter.
"We had a lot of wounds. After getting the autopsy results, the doctor explained that the cause of Vhiann's death is respiratory impairment or the so called "drowning" We can't accept the fact that, that was the last time we see our daughter happy. She is very sweet that she requested us to have a short vacation, but we never thought that was her last moment with us," Jill and Adrian both cried.
"What hurts us the most is, we weren't able to give her a burial ceremony when she died. Our relatives let her dead body stays 4 days before she'll be put on her grave. It was her last day when we were both discharged in the hospital. We were able to see her for the last moment before she got buried." Adrian punched the wall and cried.
"Our relatives told us that her beautiful face got burned that's why no one can recognized her looks. We opened the coffin before it goes down to the land where her coffin will be placed, I cried for the whole day because of what happened to her. Innah, you are a mother too. You know how it hurts for us mother to see our daughters suffering what more the day they died early," Jill cried out loud and Adrian gave her a pampering hug and kissed her in forehead.
"Until now, the pain is in our hearts. It really hurts!" Adrian told them shedding tears that moment.
"How sure are you that it was Vhiann?" Hannah curiously asked them that made them all think too.
"Did you see her dead body clearly? I mean, the dress she's wearing is the same dress the dead person is wearing who was covered with white cloth in the hospital?" Harold started to wonder.
"No. I told you earlier that we weren't able to see her because the nurse injected something on us that made us lost our consciousness," Jill and Adrian both emphasized.
"What if, it is not Vhiann? What if your daughter is still alive?" Innah said in a motivated tone.
"Uncle, Auntie, I have suggestion. What if you get a DNA test of the one you buried three years ago?" Adam suggested smartly.
"Maybe you're all right. The pain in our hearts is still here. We are longing for our daughter. We missed her so much, we still can't move on. I dreamed of her once in a month, she keeps on telling me to not lose hope, she's okay," Jill discussed. "Is that a sign that she survived from the accident?" She asked them in a happy tone.
"Wherever she is, Jill, your daughter will come back on you maybe something happened to her that's why she's not yet coming back. Innah and I have a gut feel that your daughter, Vhiann is still alive," Harold uttered in motivation.
"Let's find it in any way we can to see her again. Don't worry, we will meet your daughter again. Maybe she was lost in the ocean but I am confident that your daughter is still alive," Innah hugged Jill to comfort her.
"I have a strong feeling that my daughter is still alive. I know deep in my heart Vhiann is not dead. There are times that I have sleepless nights, I'm still thinking about her. You know what I mean Innah, you are a mother too like me. It's what we called mother's instinct;" Jill told her while crying.
"My wife is right. I felt that too. I don't know why, but if my daughter is really dead why we can't accept it and there's a space in our hearts longing for her presence. It's been years but that accident is still fresh on our minds," Adrian uttered.
"But what if Vhiann is not the dead person we buried, where is our daughter?" Jill curiously asked them.
"And who is that person we buried who's not worth for our sorrow and grief that day?" Adrian wondered.
"It's for us to find out uncle, auntie. Destiny will find way how it will bring Vhiann back to us," Hannah whispered.
"I have a gut feeling that my best friend is alive. Yes, she is. I'm sure about it," Hannah whispered again.
"I believe in you, babe, Adam said near to her ears. I agree with you, we have the same feeling," Adam added.
"Uncle? Auntie? Do you have an idea where my friends are?" Hannah asked them in a soft voice.
"We don't have an idea dear. Your friends decided to leave the country and take their own paths that they think will make them successful someday. They know that someday your paths will cross again and they are sure that it will happen," Adrian explained looking straight to Hannah's eyes.
