Chapter 68

When I was done I handed her the phone and she said a quick thanks then left.

Looking at the direction she left at I watched the way she walked.

Why was I really feeling like this.

Well I mean her blonde hair was ridiculously long but I mean why would that throw me off.

"I know that look. What is up?" Amala asked looking at me while she rose a brow.

Laila was paying us no mind as she was tending a phone call that seemed to be getting intense.

"She doesn't sit right with me" I said looking at the direction she left at.

"You said the same thing the day Sandra and the boyfriend left and in a car accident which was so not an accident.

You also said the same thing before Aline was food poisoned and admitted to the hospital." Amala said remind of my witch like abilities.

Yes I got them from my mama.

And no she is not a witch.

"I know maybe this time I am wrong." I said shaking my head.

"No you are not. You said the same thing two days before my house got trashed" she said raising a brow lowkey warning me not to take this as a joke.

"So how doesn't it sit right with you?" Laila said after her phone call was done.

"How comes she is the only one who approached you and got that close.

I mean none of these people are even looking in our direction" I said feeling like an undercover.

Or maybe I was just paranoid because the feeling of being watched recently came back to me.

I bet I forgot to mention that right.

Well from the moment we arrived in this mall.

I felt eyes allover me.

Or should I say us.

"Maybe she is the only one who is not affraid" she said not minding the fact that I mentioned that no one else looked at us as if they knew us.

Looking at me Amala silently told me with her eyes to drop it.

Just because Amala was believing me it did not mean everyone else was going to.

Dropping the topic I proceeded eating and as if the day was not draining enough Josiah started calling me.

When I did not answer he called again and when it finally got on my nerves I decided to cut the call and switch off my phone.

Looking back at the two girls they both gave me questioning looks and my only answer was 'it's a long story'

When we were done eating we visited a couple of stores in another mall and when we decided that it was time to actually go home it was nearing eight thirty pm and my feet were screaming for me to actually put them to rest so was my head.

"A text saying that you are alright would have done the trick" the shadow in the dim lit room said making me jump.

When the owner of the voice registered in my head I removed the hand that was on my hammering heart and when I was in a condition to answer I switched on the lights.

"I had to get my answer from Amala" he said looking at me and I did not answer.

I mean what would I honestly say.

That I want to fuck him due to the little clothing he had on or that I did not owe him an explanation.

Either way I couldnt talk because I was speechless.

"For two damn weeks you have been acting seriously ungrateful its starting to get into me" he said humourlessly laughing.

Making a shudder run dow my spine.

Was that fear I was sensing.

Yes. Specifically from me.

"I... I...." i tried speaking and he rose a brow waiting for me to talk and the words never made it past my vocal cords.

Shaking his head with a visible sadness he turned on his heel and left for his room which he loudly slammed the door at making me flinch.

Good for you Anaïs you have royally fucked up.

Exactly five minutes passed before I decided that I actually did not want to live like this.

Deciding to follow him I went to open the door knob of the room and to my surprise it was open.

"Get the fuck out" he said straddling me.

Since when did he start to curse but nonetheless I did not budge.

Switching on the lights I was met with a glare that I couldnt explain and the goosebumps made it know that I was indeed not going anywhere.

Kill me if you want Josiah.

Nayra

Did I ever mention how often I miss my son whenever I cant feel his tiny self messing my living room up or blabbering about and going on with the voices from cartoons in the television.

Sighing at the situation infront of me I knew that I had to confront this old man like a baby.

Deciding to push my fierce self at the back of my mind I slowly approached him from behind then started massaging his shoulders.

He relaxed at my touch and when I felt the tension leaving him I stood to face him.

You seriously want to know how we got to this point.

Me being this soft towards him well let's say alot of sex and punching a hole in the wall got us here.

Seriously. Do you see the clear picture because I do not.

"I Could get used to this" he said leaning unto my touch and I smiled.

"I bet you could" I said applying a little pressure and he winced.

Smiling in triumph I gave him one last pat on the back then proceeded to walk to the fridge.

The only thing I removed was the half empty bottle of milk then grabbed a glass pouring all of it in.

After chugging it down I walked back to where I came from meaning my room.
