Chapter 49 Young Lady

Why couldn't the wedding be as simple as pronouncing the man and women, husband and wife? Maybe then all of the guests could save their energy and time on other things.
She doesn't understand why, and she doesn't want to know. She turns around and walks towards the direction of the entrance door. She inhales the fresh air and exhales with a smile on her face. Nope. That didn't happen as she imagined. Her step halted at the sound of her mother's voice in gritted teeth.
"Young lady, where do you think you are going?"
She closed her eyes and bit her lip before slowly turning around. "Nowhere. At all," She smiles, fakely sweet towards the peoples around the table.
Her mother sent her a piercing glare before she interlocked her arm with Vale's father, walking towards the newlywed. They followed suit and waited for their turns. A guest is currently congratulating Melissa and the handsome, expensive hunk beside her. His arm never leaves her waist, her back or her hands. Showing his possessiveness towards Melissa. She seemed happy despite being forced into an arranged marriage.
Vale continues assessing the couples. Would she and Keith make it to the altar, exchanging vows, rings and kisses? She never got the time to calculate the answer because it was their turns to congratulate the couple.
Melissa and Vale's relationship weren't close as a cousin. Guess, money and fame get in between them. Vale only gave the couple a strained smile and a small congratulation before quickly walking away from the event.
However, her relief was cut short, seeing Kayden goes into her parent's white limo. She groaned, remembering they had a partial agreement about choking each others throat at home.
"What's wrong now?" Keith put his hand on her lower back, urging Vale to walk towards his car.
"I have to attend a meeting," Vale slid inside the passenger seat of Keith's black sleek BMW car. Keith walks around to the driver's seat after closing the passenger seat door.
"Where is this meeting happening?" He asked, making Vale look at him, confused. Keith started the car and drove towards the hotel exit.
"My parent's home, why?" Vale asked as he drives towards Vale's parent's home. He didn't ask her for the direction at all. He had memorized it as soon as he got her file on his desk.
"I'm the true son-in-law here. Isn't that enough reason for me to attend the family meeting as well?" Keith smirked as he glances at Vale's astonished face.
"Anne is still considered a minor. My parent wouldn't approve of you hitting on her," Vale's eyes tilted as her eyes landed on the car's ceiling. Calculating Keith and Anne equations on it imaginary. Her brows furrowed as one of her hand landed on her chin. A sign that shows she's thinking hard and deep.
Keith's mouth gaped in surprise on her reaction. A few seconds later, he grumbled. Here he is, ready to be her knight in shining armour and save her from the villain, also known as Kayden Ilmanto. He had already forgiven Vale for not telling him her exact story about her friend when he heard her whisper of please with a kiss on top his head this morning.
But, she had the guts to guess he was aiming at her younger sister, Anne.
"You idiot! I'm not talking about her! I'm talking about you! I am your boyfriend, soon to-be-fiance, and soon-to-be-husband!" He gritted his teeth as his knuckles turn white from gripping the steering wheel so hard.
"But, how can I be your girlfriend when you never ask me to become one?" Vale crossed her arm as she looks at Keith with an innocent confused face.
"Do I have to? Actually, no. Nope. I don't want to ask you. You are my girlfriend. By hook or by crook," Keith sit with his chest, puffed in proud that he owned the gorgeous women beside him.
Vale squinted at the man who just boosted his own ego with gritted teeth. How hard was it for a man to ask a girl to become his girlfriend? Vale doesn't want flowers or a ring or him on his knees. She only wanted him to ask her to become his girlfriend.
"Asshole. I hate you," Vale turned her body in front as her head turns to the windows.
Keith only smirked at her response.
"Your hot asshole,"
Vale's rolled her eyes, not responding to him. Her phone vibrated, and she took it out of her clutch and saw Jake's name on the screen.
"Jake," Vale acknowledged the person on the line.
"Where's my babyyyy?!" Jake's screeching voice enters Vale's ear, causing her to pull the phone away from her ear and rubbed her injured ear.
"Fucking hell! You blasted my ear!" Vale screeched back into the phone, and Keith groaned as his ear received the impact of her yells. Vale rolled her eyes at him.
"I left her at the hotel, accidentally, because some asshole kidnapped me into his car," Vale explained and could imagine Jake's terrified face.
"You're not borrowing any cars of mine from now on," He hung up before Vale could even argue. She groaned, leaning back on her seat.
They arrived home at the same time as the others. Hearing the sound of the cars coming must've attracted the twin German Shepherd from inside the mansion. A pretty brunette woman steps out from the entrance while holding the leash of the twins.
