'Shut your mouth Zayn," He snapped at him and he pouted.
'Can't you be as gentle with me as you are with that pen," Zayn grumbled, pointing to the ball point which Alexander was using to write and the man paused to stare at him.
'Are you seriously doing this right now, Zayn?" Alexander asked his friend in disbelief.
'Yep, I am," he answered and he glared at him. 'Okay, I give up. Did you talk to Sapphire?" Zayn added.
'Yes I did, she is at her cooking class, having a talk with her group of friends. She would come here after she is done," Alexander said, a small smile on his lips.
Zayn is sure that he doesn't even know that he is smiling, his wife and kids bring out a side he had never seen with his friends and he looks a tad bit more approachable to strangers when he is with them. Sapphire is good for his friend just like he is good for her.
'I don't know what those people are up to, I don't trust the trio of Oliver, Sebastian and Sheila, they are the worst combination," Zayn added.
'Sapphire managed to convince the Smiths to get to the prison, Miranda also followed them. That doctor is present too and they are all on the lookout for anything unusual, he called a hypnotist over in order to jog up Heather's memory," Alexander explained seriously and Zayn nodded with his chin resting under his hand.
'I guess this doctor is really ready to redeem himself, he is trying very hard. Nate should be here any moment from now, he went to get some files from her boys on my behalf, a really good secretary you have right there. You should increase his pay," Zayn answered.
'You wouldn't be the one to tell me what I should do and what I shouldn't. I would give him an increase when I deem fit, it is none of your business," He told her and Zayn stared at him in mock pain.
'The only people you say lengthy words with are Sapphire, the kids and me. While all they hear from you is the good, nice words, the ones I hear are the bad and ugly ones, you shouldn't treat me like this, after we have been through thick and thin. I deserve better," he said dramatically but Alexander didn't say anything.
'Ar . . . Are you not going to say anything to all that I just said?"
'It is not worth my reply,"
'There you go again!" Zayn said and Alexander glared at him but there was a knock at the door and that got both of their attention.
'Come in Marcus," Alexander said and the man came in, Zayn stared at him in disbelief.
'Not this again, Alexander, I thought you lost that habit some time ago, his name is Nate not Marcus," Zayn scolded him.
'None of your fucking business, Zayn." Alexander replied dryly before turning to look at his secretary who was handing over a file to Zayn.
'I thought that it was suspicious that she wanted to blackmail you, it just didn't sit right with me. So I did a lot of digging lately and was able to find out that she really did have something dirty to protect and keep as a secret," Zayn told Alexander who was already paying attention to him. 'Turns out that Shirley Myles, formally known as Sheila Davis, was Oliver Gray's sister." He said with a bit of surprise in his voice, it was obvious that he didn't expect it too.
'What?" Nate said in shock.
'I want an explanation Zayn," Alexander said and the man nodded.
'Very well, my dear sir." Zayn said in a mock posh tone but wrinkled his nose when a small smile laced Alexander's lips, he quickly cleared his throat and proceeded to explain. 'She is Theo Gray's illegitimate daughter. She and her mother were abandoned by that dirty old man when he learnt about her pregnancy. He was in his prime and he had something similar to Oliver's reputation there, charming, loyal to his wife, most pleasant gentleman. If it came to light that he has a mistress who is pregnant everyone would turn on him. Her mother died when she was sixteen but that was after Sheila abandoned the woman to go and suck up to her rich father. She did not have a favor in his eyes, so he did all sorts of dirty business for the man. Seducing men he wants to bring down, poisoning the wayward ones, getting dirt on the stubborn ones, she did everything in order to be in the old man good book, before and after she met you, even when she was dating you," Zayn explained.
'Bitch!" Alexander gritted and Zayn nodded.
'Yeah, that's what she is." Zayn added.
'Tell them to keep an eye on Heather very well and dig up some information about Sheila's whereabouts," Alexander told Nate and the man nodded in understanding.
Alexander's phone rang and he quickly picked up the call when he saw that it was Sapphire's calling.
'Hi Sweetheart," he said into the phone but it was silent. 'Sapphire?" He called and that was when he heard sniffles.
'Xander . . . It has gone bad." Sapphire said in a hoarse and quiet voice. It was glaring through her voice that she had been crying, she also sounded so devastated.
'Calm down, Sapphire. What is wrong? What happened? Try to explain it to me as much as possible," Alexander said with a frown on his face, Zayn's and Nate's attention were now solely focused on it.
The sharpness in his tone despite the fact that he is talking to Sapphire made them know that something is going on, they just don't know how awful it was.
'I went … there to just peek at them … before going home, Luci promised me…. And I know that it is cool … but I only saw him there… only the one in sight. He looks shaken up... and … and," She trailed off in broken voice, she was shaken up too.
'Calm down Sapphire, Tell me where on earth you are, I would come and get you. You can explain everything to me further," he said, already standing up from his seat and moving to wear his suit jacket.
'I was at All Dishes when Luci texted me that she would go and pick up the kids at school, I didn't think anything of it and just agreed, sent an okay to her, she picks them up more than I do so it is nothing strange. So I stayed and chatted with the trio for a while before going home. I still haven't heard any news from my Mike and the rest, I was expecting to meet them when I got home but I came to an empty house.
I hurried over to their school when I phoned the teacher and she told me that the kids are still in school, as well as Amy, because no one came to pick them up.
I got there and Andrew told me that Andrea went to the toilet, I went to go and check on her because she was taking too long with what she was doing but I couldn't see her in any of the stalls, I only saw a note that said that I should inform you that she had been taken, and that they would contact you.
Andrea has been kidnapped, Xander, and I am so scared. What if I never see her again?"
'Calm down Sapphire, don't worry about her too much, I would make sure that you would see her later, now tell me where you are," Alexander replied.
'I am at the kids' school with Amy and Andrew. I searched the entire school for her but I came up with nothing. She is obviously not in the school. I heard some parents say that they saw black van, they must have used that." She said and Alexander nodded.
'Stay where you are Sapphire. I will be there soon,"he said and disconnected the call.
'What's wrong dude?" Zayn asked.
'Both of you should follow me to the kids' school. Andrea has been kidnapped."
