'I know right, that was the type of feeling I got when I first started coming to the gambling den. The only difference between me and you is the fact that I have no one to guide me while you have me," Luci said, in between laughter, the corners of her eyes crinkled in happiness.
They were just leaving the gambling den. Venita had been called over by someone to talk about her possible trip to Miami, at least, that is what Luci deduced from her conversation with the receiver.
She had been standing with Oliver after she left Sapphire when that asshole, Matthew came to her.
She hates the man so fucking much at the moment, he dared to hurt Claire in that way.
Then Venita had gone, it was then that Oliver remembered that he came in Venita's car and there was no way to go home, Luci saw this as a chance to test her theory about the man and asked him to go to the gambling den with her.
He agreed and during that time that they were watching the gamblers, Luci noticed all the things that she didn't notice the first time she took him out_ all the things that pointed to the fact he is almost professional when it comes to this.
Some people even bowed to him, normally she would have thought that they were business advocates greeting each other but now it is crystal clear that there was another advanced type of respect in their greeting and Oliver merely nodded.
Just like a boss would do to underlings greeting him.
She knew that she had to be careful around the man, he is a perfect actor. But two can easily play the game, she would be a chameleon in order to find out what on earth the cruel man was up to.
'So where should I drop you off at? Or is Venita coming to take you?"
'In case you forgot, Luci. I have already entered the car, I won't do that if I had the intention of letting Venita come and get me.
And that place is not a place to get a gentleman.
I would prefer it if you drop me off at my condo," Oliver said and Luci nodded before driving them away from the bustling street.
It was a game of cat and mouse where the identities of the characters have not been identified, both of them had to play their part well.
Both of them headed to the bar after Oliver invited her in for a drink. It was not a good idea to drink whatever that asshole would offer her but it was subtly obvious in his eyes that he is putting her to the test.
Her sitting with Sapphire throughout the entirety of the day with Claire must have raised some alarm bells in his head.
So she collected the wine with smiles and sipped on with a calm and relaxed expression even though her heart was thumping in her chest.
'So . . . you seem quite close with Sapphire," He finally said after they both had some alcohol in their system.
'Close?" She tilted her head in thought before shaking it. 'Hardly. I wouldn't call us close. I was only sitting with her today because Claire was there and I found those kids of hers utterly adorable. Claire had always been thick as thieves with Sapphire, I don't think that there is anything she doesn't know about her." She replied and gulped the rest of her wine, Oliver poured another glass for her and for himself.
'Yes, they are cute," he admitted and Luci nodded.
'So? You think Alexander is the kids' dad?" He asked and Luci nodded.
'Yeah, he is the one. I heard Sapphire telling Claire that he is the father of the child because some Shirley Myles came to claim that she is the mother of the kids," Luci said nonchalantly and Oliver raised a brow at her in surprise.
'Why would someone come to claim the kids and Alexander would agree that the woman is the mother?"
'I don't know. Claire and Sapphire had been talking about it long before I came in, I was there to greet Claire and sleep over at her place. I have a lot of that with her and it is usually fun, I think we would have more sleep over when Sapphire and Alexander go to Monaco, they are going there for a date!" Luci exclaimed in enthusiasm and Oliver nodded.
'They are so romantic with each other, it would be fun to date someone who won't mind the expense and take you anywhere you want to go," Luci said, she was deliberately ranting on and on about mundane thing that Oliver didn't want to hear about to convey the message that what happens in the Aldine mansion is really none of her business.
'I would love to go to some other places, plainly for pleasure purposes too but damn it if I don't have Monaco on the list," She said and didn't miss the irritation that crossed his eyes when she didn't tell him exactly what he wanted to hear.
'So does that mean that the kids aren't really Sapphire's since Alexander confirmed that?" Oliver asked and Luci nodded.
'Poor woman, she is not able to give birth to kids anymore and Alexander also knows that too. I don't know if she is going to be divorced but their relationship these days isn't something good, they seemed kind of awkward and avoiding each other," Luci added in a voice coated with pity.
'About damn time she realized that no man wants a damaged woman, we are always in for what we would be offered," Oliver said and Luci glanced at him noncommittally before turning to her drink.
‘No everyone is a scum like you, asshole' she snapped in her head. ‘What divorce? Jerk must be thinking of ways to degrade Sapphire.'
'I saw your press conference, is Heather really that horrible?" She asked in a surprised voice and Oliver nodded.
'Unfortunately, she is," he replied.
'So what are you going to do? Are you going to get her away from the prison? After all, she is still your fiancé." Luci probed and Oliver turned his mouth up in disgust.
'I don't think a fiancé who would push you to your doom is worth saving. I don't know if I would visit her in prison, she pretty much disgusted me at this stage. I didn't know that she did all those things to Sapphire," Oliver said and Luci almost let a laugh break into a blank expression on her face.
‘Such a dick! It is nice that you abandon your stupid fiance, at least she would have a taste of the medicine she served to Sapphire some years ago. Now you too, would have two scorned women after you.' Luci thought with a smirk.
'Poor you, I didn't think that she was that bad, although I didn't like her behavior toward me that day." Luci said before pulling the stool back and stood up from the chair, taking her coat and bag in her hand.
'It is time for me to leave, Oliver. I would get back in touch with you later," she said standing up and Oliver nodded before walking over to her to walk her out, he pecked her cheeks when they were at the door and Luci had to resist the urge to kick him in the balls and hurl all over his face.
'Bye Oliver," She said and entered the cat before driving out of the lawn, he stared at her car as it drove away before he went bag in.
Luci was really going to go home until she saw Venita's car drive past her, she smirked with a shake of her head.
She was right, Oliver and Venita deliberately planned this in order to test her.
She drove her car back and parked her car in a blind spot before getting down and moving forward. He saw that Oliver had come to join Venita to lead her in.
She got back into her car and used her earphones. She had managed to put a recording device somewhere under the bar table. He was sure that the man would discuss a lot of his business in the bar because it was cool and had nice collections of expensive wine and drinks.
'You are right, Venita. Luci is no threat, that girl is some dumb ass," Oliver said and Luci scoffed.
'You were worrying yourself over nothing, I told you,"
'She said that a woman called Shirley Myles came to get the kids claiming that they are hers and Alexander affirmed it. They will be divorcing very soon too, then I can show that stupid brat what she is really worth." Oliver said and Venita chuckled.
'You are obsessed with her, Oliver. You still want her to look at you with love in her eyes after everything you had done to her, would that be possible?" Venita asked and Oliver scoffed.
'If I get my hands on her, it would be possible, Sapphire used to be mine and she promised that she would always be, but now, she is going about with Alexander," Oliver said and Luci scoffed in disbelief.
Was there anyone more delusional than this jerkface?
'Tell me the truth, Oliver. Did you kill my grandmother? I am aware that both of you have some sort of feud," She asked and Luci increased the volume to make sure she doesn't miss anything they say.
One fact was confirmed, Venita didn't know anything about her grandmother's death but she had enough knowledge to know that she would be killed and possibly by Oliver.
The line was silent for a while and Luci couldn't hear anything, she was almost about to give up when Oliver said in a cold voice.
'Aren't you glad that the old woman has died? It gets rid of headaches for many people, Madam Emiliana's death is not widely mourned, I happen to be one of those people happy about it and you should be too," He said, but there was an undertone of warning beneath the chilly voice.
'Let's say cheers to that, shouldn't we?" His voice had switched to a charming one and Luci had no problem picturing him holding up a glass of whisky while smiling with his lips and staring with creepy eyes.
