Chapter 83: Forgiving Sapiens

Sapphire stood up when Oliver checked his phone, it must be a member of the Gray family calling him, you really get an advantage over your foe when you know a lot about them, in fact she knew too much about Oliver.

Oliver Gray is a man of habit, he hates change a lot, that was what caused fights in the later part of their relationship. She wasn't ready to keep laying low and staying as the same Sapphire which irked him to no end and they had arguments over it every single night three years ago.

At her side, a lot had changed. She turned to look at Alexander who was still sitting and smiled to herself, he is one of the major changes that happened to her that she loved, the man loves her and they both knew that, so she wasn't anxious when she told him that he loves and he just smiled, he was not given the chance to speak before she kissed him.

The man was always ready for her, no matter what she does, it seems like it is her next move that would always determine his, he kissed her with love and lust, two equal parts blending together so neatly that neither overpowered her, it makes her whole, she is sure that after this, she would never find a man to love her more than Alexander does, and if such man exists, it would never work except they are Alexander.

He raised his head to stare at her and held her hand, he pulled her hand and she landed on his thighs, he buried his face in the crook of her neck and he is sure that if there is any part of his skin touching her pulse, he would be able to feel how fast her heart is beating in her chest.

'Patience," he whispered, she could feel the hot hair on her open skin, causing the hair to stand on her neck. 'Patience, Sweetheart, you don't need to make your presence known, you are the queen now they would always be the one to come to you later, for now let us just enjoy each other's company, the best of expression is yet to appear on Oliver's face," He said and she relaxed against him.

The man is right, given the series of events that would follow each other, Oliver's irritated expression would remain for a few days.

'I am sorry for bringing you here, I know that you are bored out of your mind," Sapphire said, the hosts of the events were already ushering out the reporters and everything was beginning to calm down but the couple were still in their own little bubble.

'I would follow you anywhere in the world," he replied and raised his head to glance at his family. 'As long as we are all one,"

The reporters had been cleared out and the room was calmer but nothing could stop the members of the high society from gossiping, this matter is going to be on the top list for years.

Sapphire tried to stand up but Alexander tightened his hand around her waist and when she turned to glare at him, he only raised a questioning brow at her.

'We are sorry about that little misunderstanding, would make sure to get to the root of everything, we are investigating the matter as we speak and in that mean time, can you please get down from the podium, Mr. Oliver?" The emcee asked and Sapphire chuckled.

The man kept looking at Sapphire as he walked down the stairs, he had anger all over his face, he marched over to Heather and took her arm before dragging the woman out, at least the man had some shame, Heather was ready to stay seated there.

Oliver paused and turned to Luci who was walking behind them.

'Thanks a lot Luci, I would call or text you later," he told her and Luci nodded, and watched the man and his wife get out of the door and hop into their car.

'Okay, before I continue with the program, I would like to apologize to the Aldines present here today, our event isn't usually like this," the emcee continued.

'Well, that is no big problem, we Aldines are the most forgiving sapiens to ever grace the surface of this earth," Andrea said loudly in the quiet room and everyone chuckled.

'Forgiving my ass, you just run the whole show just to get back at Oliver for what he did three years ago," Zayn said, under his breath and Luci pinched his thigh.

'What the hell was that for?" He asked the woman who was now sitting beside him.

'Don't worry, I would rate it five stars, don't let some asshats ruin your day, honest report, the ballroom is nice but the people were boring. Right until the moment the paparazzi started going crazy," Andrew added, smiling cutely.

'An advice bro," Andre said to the man on the stage.

'Yes, ma'am" The emcee replied, which made everyone laugh at the difference in age compared to the manner of speaking.

'Never let those new hungry beasts enter the ballroom again, select the few ones you want and have them write the script the way you want it to be written, period!"

'Uh? Okay. Any more advice?"

'Whatever you do, don't let fucking nitwits ruin your day, must I tell you everything? Now continue with your show,"

'On Danavivie's tenth award party, the award for the best gentleman goes to," the emcee said and paused, he swept his gaze over the people in the room while they stared at him curiously, this is the first time in forever that they were curious about who would get the award, normally, it was Oliver Gray.

'Ruby Conrad," he said and everywhere was silent before everyone started clapping, Zayn, Andrea and Andrew turned to look at the man but he was also clapping.

'Why is uncle Ruby so silly?" Andrew asked and Andrea shook her head.

'I would rather say that he is dumb," Andrea replied.

'I agree with you on that,"

'You are the one who won the award, Ruby, go on to the stage," Alyssa said, pressing a finger on his arm and he stopped to look at her.

'Could Mr. Ruby come and stand right here beside me?" The emcee asked and Ruby nodded before walking to the stage while others clapped.

'He looks so good under that light," Alyssa said with a giggle and Luci rolled her eyes at her.

'He always looks good on stage, he is a celebrity, in case you forgot," Luci replied.

'I didn't know that I was nominated," Ruby said, the award already in his hand, a small smile on his face as he stared at it.

'That's because you dragged your legs halfway through the show,"Andrea said and she stood from where she sat.

'And the award for the most loyal woman goes to none other than Mrs. Sapphire Aldine," The host announced and a loud applause rang throughout the room, it was louder than the one Ruby got and Sapphire stared around in surprise.

'What.." she said and Alexander made her stand, she turned to look at him.

'You have always deserved the award, most times, loyal is an understatement," Alexander told her and she nodded before she bent down and pecked his lips. She tried to stand but he stopped her and kissed her on the forehead.

'I love you so much, you should always know that," he said and she nodded, the guests present were all staring at them.

'Apparently, our parents love PDA, I am sure that you would be able to give them some time to display it. We should smile at the sight of happy things, right?" Andrea asked, raising a brow at Melissa who had a frown on her face and the woman scoffed.
