Chapter 56

Anastasia woke up to a familiar bedroom. She looked everywhere to realize that she was indeed in the Alpha's bedroom, no longer in captive and afraid of her captor. Despite everything that she was seeing, her heart hoped she wasn't dreaming. As she slowly sat up, a sharp pain stabbed her hips. She groaned in discomfort. Surprisingly, she could see her wounds had been treated and she was in Draco's clothes.

Finally, Anastasia managed to stand on her feet, taking her time as she walked around the room. It looked different from what she could remember. If she were to judge, it looked so messy. His books were all over the place, pages scattered around the table. Crumpled pieces of paper thrown on the floor and some of his clothes are left on the seat. Anastasia shook her head. He must have been worried sick thinking about where she could be and what Marcus would do to her.

Her heart broke when she thought of Marcus. Despite everything he had done to her, she still believed there was goodness in his heart. She hated him but she also felt sorry for him. He had been through a lot and he deserved some peace. But peace would never be an option to a cold heart. She knew there was nothing she could do to persuade him now and that she could never soften his frozen heart. But perhaps she could help prevent an even worse punishment.

Anastasia looked outside the glass windows. The sight of the skies had never looked better from this point of view. She liked the sound of the birds tweeting from a distance. The sound of the trees dancing with the wind, flapping their leaves with joy. She missed everything about it. Even the sun that hasn't come out for days was suddenly shining through the window with warmth and love.

"Good morning, baby doll," someone whispered in her ear. Anastasia gasped as she felt his arms surrounding her waist. It felt so good to be back in the mansion. Felt even better to be back in his arms. And how could she ever resist his already pouting lips? With a laugh, Anastasia leaned in to kiss him in the lips.

  "How are you feeling?"

  "Better."

"I cooked you breakfast. Your favorite," he announced with a proud grin as he brought a tray with a chocolate cake, pancakes, and orange juice. Anastasia almost jumped up in joy.

"Thank you so much!" She gushed as she ran to hug him. Tears suddenly swelled in her eyes and Alpha Draco looked down at her with concern.

"Is something wrong?" He asked with eyes full of concern.

Anastasia sniffed, wiping away her tears with her fingers. "Nothing.. I just.. I just missed.. eating chocolate.." and she sniffed again.

Alpha Draco chuckled. "You look too cute, baby doll. Go on and eat. I don't want You to get hungry."

Anastasia excitedly ate all the food he prepared on the tray. Everything tasted so good and delicious. Or perhaps it was only because she was hungry. Nonetheless, it tasted good. Soon as she finished, Alpha Draco went to take a beautiful dress off which she hadn't seen before. He gave it to her with a big smile on his face. Anastasia looked at him with a frown. What was he so happy about?

  "Wear this," he said.

"Why? This dress is worn for an occasion. And I just woke up," she reasoned, looking up at him with her doe eyes.

He chuckled. "You look even more beautiful when you just woke up, baby doll."

  "Nice flattery, big guy."

"I'm not trying to flatter you."

  "What then?"

"I'm simply telling the truth. Baby doll, can you just wear it and stop complaining."

"I can't. I'm a woman. I talk. A lot. Especially when I don't understand what your surprise for me is."

"That's why it's called a surprise, baby doll," he retorted matter of fact. "It's not supposed to be understood. You're just supposed to be surprised by it."

"Well.. who are you? Mr. know it all?"

  "You know you love me."

"Oh, I know you know I do."

He squinted his eyes with a second thought. "What?"

Chuckling with amusement, Anastasia kissed him on the cheeks, standing up on her tiptoes. He was just too cute. Alpha Draco seemed so elegantly happy now that she was here. If only she could show him how happy she was that he found her. From the moment she had set her eyes' upon him, she knew she was finally saved.

"Are you ready for your surprise?" He asked as soon as she finished eating.

Anastasia raised an eyebrow in question. "What is this surprise?"

  "You'll see."

A few moments later, Anastasia had her eyes closed with a handkerchief. It was tightened around her eyes and she couldn't see anything. The room was quiet but she could only feel Alpha Draco leading her the way. What the hell was he hiding that he had to block her eyes for awhile? Anastasia was amused by his sudden change of actions. He wasn't like this at ll before.

"Where are you taking me?" she finally questioned.

"You ask too many questions, you know that? Just trust me and relax.

"Ok," she murmured, finally behaving and following his footsteps. A few seconds later and he was already untying the blindfold on her head. Anastasia was anxious. Was this some kind of birthday party he prepared for her? But it wasn't her birthday. So was it a celebration for her return?

As he remove her blindfold, he urged her, "you can open your eyes now, baby doll."

As soon s she opened them, Anastasia gasped in shock, seeing her father in the living room for the very first time.
