"I don't understand you, i don't understand everything you're saying right now." I shook my head.
"Of course you won't understand me." He comes closer, and leaned on my ear. "As i've said, you don't know anything at all."
I pushed him away from me. "Then tell me what i need to know!"
"It should've probably dawned into you right? You can't run away from this place. The only thing you could do is to find out what the hell is happening around here."
"I don't have time to solve your problems."
"You're the fucking problem!" He held my shoulders in anger, almost breaking my bones. I hissed at the pain and broke away from his grip. I griped my shoulder as if it would soothe the pain.
"Why do you hate me so much?! Is it fun to torture me?!"
"I'm tired." He said out of breath. "I'm so fucking tired dealing with you and my brother. I'm in hell."
"What?" I gasped.
"We're all in hell as long as we can't finish this unending curse." His eyes suddenly showing fear and exhaustion.
I pushed him away again from me. "Then tell me.. why can't i remember anything?"
"I can't tell you, princess, my brother is gonna kill me."
"I thought you want all it to end? Then just fucking tell me everything!"
He shakes his head. "It's not that easy. If you want answers, go ask the man in the basement."
My eyes widened. "Why him?"
"Why not? Doesn't he look like a man that could tell you everything what you're thinking right now?"
I glared at him.
"I'm not lying to you. Go there if you want to know, Charles is not coming back till tomorrow. I suggest you do it right now."
After saying those words, Herus left by the window and left me all to wonder what he said. He told me that everything is a mess within me and everyone around me. Everything seemed peaceful, i never thought that all is this was a barrier illusion from the hell he was talking about.
And about the curse? I've heard about it a lot of times yet i can't recall anything.
My gut is telling me to stay clueless from things that will just hurt me again. "What the hell do i even want to do now?" I said and buried my head on my knees. I felt tired and confused thinking about two opposing decisions of mine.
In a second, i was right infront of the door where the secret passage was located.
"Here goes nothing."
HERUS's POV
As i walked, i realized something.
"I should probably help her just in case." I said then got up where the secret passage was located. To my surprise my brother was there.
His back facing me.
"H-How could you be here?"
My guys told me that he's not coming back until tomorrow?! Wait. Did they betray me??
"I warned you alot of times, brother." He said the word with venom. "But everything is also going into plan because of you."
Shit i got caught.
He turns to face me. "You're making things easy for me, i've got to thank you though." His eyes bloodshot red. "Still you make me so angry by disobeying me a lot of times brother. Dad won't be pleased."
My eyes widened in fear. "N-No Charles you know i can't go there anymore.. i don't want to."
No no! NO! There's no way in hell i'm going back in Hell!
I took a step back, as if i was preparing myself to escape if worst comes to worst. He looked at me in a cold hearted manner once again.
"Hold him." He ordered.
Suddenly a group of men appeared and subdued me forcefully, my face on the ground and my hands on my back. i restlessly tried to get out from there grip. "NO! ANYWHERE BUT THERE PLEASE!"
"Shhh." He comes down closer to my level. "I won't send you there. But you must do something for me yea?"
He smirks.
CHRISTAL's POV
After reaching downstairs, My sweat dripped from the side of my face as the heat worsened each minute passing, the air was also limited. I walked slowly and approached the three-layered barrier in front of me. Slowly touching it, it was painful and a powerful barrier.
I tried gathering energy around me but failed.
"Shit it's like the last time. I can't gather pure energy from this place." I murmured in annoyance.
[GINA!!]
'What? I thought you didn't want to use my power?'
[Haven't i always been using it?]
'Silly you, that was just a pinch of my power being borrowed.'
[Then if i shift in my werewolf form, then can i break this barrier?]
'You'll just hurt yourself.'
I have always wondered why Gina became passive all of a sudden. She no longer talks to me all the time and warns me about something. As if she was going with fate's flow of time.
'I'm not so kind to do everything for you'
"Tsk can't you just pretend you didn't hear all my thought huh?" I said but she didn't answer anymore.
I sighed and looked ahead of me. The man looked like he was in pain, he was surely alive but couldn't wake up due to unknown magic.
"How can i help you?" I murmured. Raising my hand on the barrier and feeling helpless at the same time. I closed my eyes and held my chest, feeling it tighten every second i'm trying to remember this man that was too familiar for me to forget.
I badly wanted to see him open his eyes.
"What are you doing here Christal?" Charles's voice behind me lingers. I turned my back and saw worry plastered onto his face.
Didn't Herus tell me that he wasn't going back until tomorrow?
"I-I got lost." I lied.
"The magic here is so thick that i didn't know that you could've handled such a harsh atmosphere. You shouldn't be anywhere near that bad man." He said worriedly.
"Why? What did he do to be here? Locked in a place like hell."
He comes closer to me, but only to touch the barrier. "Hell isn't anywhere near this."
My eyes widened. He was talking as if he knew that place really well. I once Heard of a land called Hell. It was not a pleasant story to be heard, just full of endless pain and infinite flames.
"Truthfully, he has been locked here for centuries, we don't know who did it."
"What? You didn't do this?"
"Do i look like that kind of guy to you?"
{"That's why you're incompatible with him. You don't know him at all!"} Herus advice couldn't stop ringing in my head. Why is it that i believe more in Herus than i do in Charles?
"No." I lied. "I know you would never lie to me." I took a step back, feeling suddenly anxious near him.
"The man on the chains, do you know him?"
"W-Why would you ask me that? This is the first time i saw him. I just felt pity on him."
"Then shall we release him?"
My eyes gleamed in hope when he said that. "Can we?!"
His eyes shifted in anger for a second but changed back right after. I'm not gonna lie, he surely can't hide some emotions from me. Why did he look angry? Do i really know these stranger in chains?
"I can't." He replied. "But you can."
"Why can't you?"
"I don't have magical powers to break these barriers, but i know you do." He smiles. "You just haven't awakened yet.
Awakened?
"But i can use magic? How am i not awakened?" I said confused.
"You possess a demi-god's soul. That's why you have an awakening process. To go through it, you need to break through stages to awaken."
"Then.. how can i know if i already awakened or not?"
He smiles at me, he pulls me closer to him and lifted me up in his arms. "Do you remember the book you read?"
"Weapons of the gods?" I said confused.
"Once you came in contact with a heavenly weapon, it becomes attached to your soul and disappears. It will only appear again if you awaken." He says as he lifted me upstairs.
"Is Herus here? I want to talk with him."
He puts me down when we reached the room, the shelves closing again on its own. "Why? You don't trust a word i just said?"
I was a bit taken back when i realized he knew my intentions already. "I trust you."
I lied again, but why do i keep lying? Why is it that i can't help but fear him unknowingly?
My anxiety worsened as i walked away from him.
I stopped for a while and turned my back to glance at him once again.
but he's nowhere to be found.
