Blackwood Group demanded substantial damages for breach of contract.
Simultaneously, business partners severed relationships with Reynolds Enterprises en masse.
His company collapsed into crisis overnight.
Banks recalled loans, suppliers demanded immediate payment, shareholders initiated lawsuits...
Each development pushed him closer to financial ruin.
"This is merely the opening salvo,"
Father remarked, refilling my teacup.
When Ethan called, I activated recording before answering.
"Olivia! Must you destroy me completely?!
After everything we shared, can't you show mercy just once?"
"Will only my complete destruction satisfy you?!"
I approached the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the city's pulsing arteries and replied with icy precision:
"Ethan, when you discarded me like refuse, did you consider leaving me any dignity or means of survival?"
Silence stretched across the connection.
I continued dispassionately:
"Fortunately, I had my father and the Blackwood name to return to.
Had I been an ordinary woman without resources, you would have discarded me without consequence, leaving me unable to rebuild.
Are you truly entitled to question my methods now?
This is merely the harvest of seeds you planted yourself."
I ended the call without waiting for his response.
That evening, James Sullivan drove me home.
As we approached the estate gates, a shadowy figure lunged from the darkness, arms outstretched to block our path.
Through the screech of emergency braking, I recognized Ethan Reynolds.
His appearance was disheveled, eyes bloodshot and wild as he shouted,
"Olivia! Olivia Blackwood, come out! We need to talk!"
James exited the vehicle with fluid efficiency.
Ethan attempted to circumvent him but was expertly intercepted.
"Do you truly hate me this much?! I admit my mistakes!
I'll sign over the company! I'll return everything!"
He struggled against James's restraint, his face contorted with tears and desperation.
I lowered the window unhurriedly, regarding his pitiful state with detached indifference.
"Ethan, when you weaponized our divorce against me, when you permitted your parents to humiliate me and abduct my child, you ceased to exist in my world.
Your company? I have no interest in such insignificant assets."
I signaled to James with a slight nod.
James efficiently subdued the struggling, cursing Ethan and transferred him to the security vehicle that had arrived.
This was merely the beginning of his unraveling.
And my retribution had only begun.
