Chapter 260

My eyes narrowed as I watched Mason staggering forward in front of his group. His hair was a mess, his disheveled shirt was untucked, and a half-empty bottle of expensive liquor wrapped in gold was swinging loosely in one of his hands.
He was breathing through his mouth, making his flush cheeks from drunkenness puff like a fish in his every breath while his eyes were bloodshot red like some kind of predator that was looking forward to its prey.
The urge to vomit from disgust as I smelled the stench of alcohol and arrogance radiating all over him despite being in a deep state of drunkenness was increasing within me.
He was the textbook image of a spoiled, uneducated heir who had only known power through his family’s wealth.
After a few steps, he halted right in front of Sapphire, and his eyes gazed at her from head to toe, dimming with desire.
“What do they want?” Sapphire couldn’t help the disgust in her voice, so she voiced her thoughts through pursed lips in a low voice.
His lips curled into a mocking smirk, and he spoke, slurring slightly, “Well, well, Sapphire, isn’t it? I’ve had my eye on you.”
I could feel Sapphire’s body getting tense upon hearing the lust in his voice and instinctively becoming more tense.
Unyielding, she shifted her body more protectively in front of me and asked in a firm voice, “What do you want?”
Mason’s smirk widened as he took a step closer toward Sapphire. “Relax, sweetheart. I’m just making conversation.”
His tone was filled with so much arrogance, and was dripping with deceitful charm. “You’ve been paying so much attention to me tonight, even at the cost of leaving your friends in this boring private room. Don’t tell me you’re not interested?”
Smirking, he waved his hand arrogantly and answered his own question with so much assumption, “I get it! Girls like you always want to cozy up to a powerful man to live a better life. Isn’t that right?”
My eyes narrowed in anger, and a sneer formed in my lips, which were hidden away by my mask.
‘This fool. How could he think someone like Sapphire, who is the best warrior in the Lycan Kingdom, would ever need to flatter a man to live a good life, much more a worthless man like him?’
The more and more I know about Mason, the more I understand how much of a stupid man he was. If it weren’t for the Krendrell family’s influence in Wakeland, he would have never been able to do so many bad things in Wakeland. In fact, he probably wouldn’t be this arrogant.
Nevertheless, I could only sigh a breath of relief as his actions ensured he didn’t recognize me and Sapphire.
Meanwhile, Sapphire didn’t even flinch at his words. Instead, she crossed her arms and shot Mason a cold, disdainful smile. “I don’t have time for your nonsense. My friend and I are leaving.”
However, as Sapphire made a turn and started guiding me to leave, Mason’s lackeys blocked our paths and formed a loose circle around us. All of them were almost in the same state as Mason, drunk and chaotic.
“Step aside,” I ordered in a calm but authoritative voice.
Living up to his scumbag attitude, Mason ignored me and kept his attention fixated on Sapphire.
He swaggered forward, and his voice dripped with smugness. “Oh, come on, Sapphire. You're trying to get my attention now that you know who I am, right? I’ll admit, you’re not much to look at, but you’re hot. You’ve got that fire. I like that.”
To further my disgust, his eyes drifted in my direction. “And you!”
He sneered, “Even with the mask, I can tell you’ve got a great body. How about you join us? We can have some fun together tonight.”
Damn him! I suddenly had the urge to poke his eyes until they bled! How much more disgusting could he be?
My jaw tightened, and my hands curled into fists. Stepping forward, I replied in an icy voice, “Krendrell isn’t the manager of this place anymore, Mason. You should learn to restrain yourself before I report this disgusting behavior of yours to the Lycan Princess.”
Unfazed, Mason hysterically laughed. “The princess?” he obnoxiously scoffed. “That bitch is just a dog for men, no different from anyone else. Wakeland won’t be any different.”
One of his friends snickered and chimed in, “You’re younger than Kylian, Mason. Maybe if you snap your fingers, Princess Della will come running to be your little lapdog, too.”
Fury rose to my throat as disgust filled me out of control. Without hesitation, I stepped forward and slapped Mason across the face so hard that a sharp crack echoed in the hallway.
Mason’s face twisted with rage as he raised his hand, but a voice cut through the tension before he could retaliate.
“Now, now, boys,” a woman called out, her tone dripping with amusement.
All our heads turned to the direction where the voice was coming from, and we saw a striking woman in a fitted red dress that hugged her curves, a slit running high up one leg. Her long dark hair cascaded over her shoulders, and her lips curved into a playful smile. Behind her stood a group of burly and armed men, their presence commanding attention.
“Rylee,” Sapphire murmured, recognition flickering in her eyes.
The woman named Rylee strode forward in a slow but seductive motion, her heels clicking on the floor, all while her eyes were locked on Mason. Leaning in closer, her lips almost brushed Mason’s ear.
“Mason, darling,” she cooed, her voice silky but edged with steel. “You don’t want to cause trouble here. Not in Mr. K’s territory.”
Mason’s arrogance faltered momentarily before sneering, “You think Mr. K scares me?”
I watched as Rylee’s smile didn’t waver even for a second. Instead, she kept calm and tilted her head. “Oh, sweetie, I’m not worried about you. But if you make a mess here, I’ll be the one who’ll be punished. And trust me, that won’t end well for you.”
Swallowing, I looked at them and the surroundings, undeniably feeling uncomfortable watching her teasing Mason with precision and ease.
She didn’t even feel awkward when other people were around and seeing her.
Brushing her lips on Mason’s ear, he gasped for air.
Smirking, Rylee pushed his head a little and made his follow her gaze on the nearby corner, where several omegas who became prostitutes stood waiting, their eyes coyly fixed on Mason.
Sliding her fingers on his jaw down to his adam’s apple and his chest, Ryle continued to entice him. “I’ve got a special treat for you tonight. A few of our finest girls… on the house. Just for you. So, why not take your boys and enjoy yourself?”
Following their gazes, I almost gasp in disgust and disbelief upon seeing the five girls wearing so little clothes and winking at Mason with seductive smiles on their lips.
Mason hesitated for a while as his eyes flicked between the omegas, Sapphire, and me.
After a while, he then pointed a finger at my forehead. “You’re lucky tonight.”
With a scowl, he turned and stomped off with his group in tow.
Only after the corridor cleared and their figures completely vanished was I able to let out a slow breath of relief.
Unexpectedly, Rylee turned back around and faced me with a bright smile.
“Princess,” she greeted warmly before continuing to speak respectfully, “Allow me to escort you to a safer area.”
As soon as I heard her call me by my title, I instantly froze. My eyes widened in shock as I stared in confusion.
How did she know who I was?
