Chapter 192

Kylian didn’t even think when he replied with a nod. “Yes, I was informed about that. The Lycan King will be holding a banquet to celebrate the success of the Lycan Princess in taking over the Wakeland.”
Then, his eyes lit up. Continuing to talk, he pulled me inside the room, “Do you remember Wakeland? It’s that place that’s known where rogues are prevalent.”
‘Of course, I remember that matter too well. Not only did I know, but I was also the one who handled it. I’m even the center of the event, and you’re unaware of it,’ I thought.
Trying to withhold the secret and smile in me, I looked up for a while and pretended to be thinking. “Yes, I heard about that.”
Well, it’s not exactly a lie. Just not the full truth.
Kylian sat on the end of the bed and pulled me to his muscular lap. I unconsciously leaned into him even more and wrapped my right arm around his shoulder while he played with my other hand.
“Actually, Albert went there as well for her. He’s very loyal to the princess. He led many warriors and people there to solve most of the rogue issues in Wakeland. With all his hard work, he created a smooth path for the princess to take over the Wakeland,” he explained.
I, on the other hand, just kept listening to him while I ran my fingers on his hair, playing with it’s strands.
“I heard he also almost died there for the the Princess. And regardless all the disagreements of his family, he still went on. He’ll rather lose his life for the woman he loves.” Kylian stared at me with admiration, “I must say, I’m definitely impressed by his love.”
My finger instantly froze, pain rushing through my heart and my breathing momentarily hitched. How could I respond to something like that?
Kylian was someone who anyone would rarely hear him praise anything or anyone for that matter. And right now… He’s praising a man, unaware that the woman Albert love and risked his life for was actually me.
That I’m actually the princess.
Suddenly, fear flashed into my heart, afraid of what he might think once he learned who really I am.
“And will you believe it? I even heard that–”
“You know, let’s stop about it already,” I interrupted as I gave him a quick kiss on his cheek.
Now that I already made up my mind and chose to be with Kylian, I just didn’t want to think about Albert anymore. At least not right now.
He’s my friend… One of my best friend to be exact, and he’s important to me too. I’ll make it up to him sooner or later.
And if he wouldn't forgive me yet, then I’ll do what I could do help him. Maybe provide him with materials, resources, or even honor that he more than deserve.
But then again… Even if I gave all of that to him, none of it would be sufficient compared to all of Albert’s efforts to caox me. Efforts which all went to waste. But that’s all I could do. Because no matter how hard I try, it’s still only Kylian who’s in my heart.
I looked down and saw a huge smile playing in Kylian’s lips.
“What?” I asked with a raised eyebrow.
“You’re being really expressive right now,” he said, tightening his hold on my waist.
“What? You don’t like it?”
“No! I’m ecstatic about it,” he said and started showeering me with kisses.
I laughed and tried to struggle as he drown me with countless kisses, but he already pulled me down on the bed.
With him on top of me, I laughed with delight as butterflies flew in my stomacch when he continued kissing my lips, cheeks, and neck.
“W-wait… Stop…” I said in between laughs.
Finally, I manage to put my palms on his chest and push him a little bit, enough to get his attention and speak to me.
“What do you plan on that day?” I asked in a low voice.
“What day?” He started playing with the loose strands of my hair while his eyes remained in mine.
“The banquet.”
Hearing my words, he rolled and laid down beside me. He raised my head and laid it on his chest wit his arm underneath my head and hand on my shoulder, pulling me closer.
I leaned on him, hands on his cheast, hearing his heartbeat like music in my ears.
His voice radiated as he replied, “Initially, I planned to have a meeting in the morning and take you to the party in the afternoon. But if you don’t want to go, then I can go alone.”
I immediately shook my head. “No, I’ll go with you. Fae also invited me to have lunch with her. I’ll go to the castle first though. I have to be there in the morning.”
Knowing that Fae was my close friend, he understood. Nodding, he replied, “Then I’ll meet you in the afternoon.”
Afterward, he kissed my forehead again. Suddenly, we went back to how we were before.
Sweet… and cuddly.
I leaned more to Kylian and embrace him as I thought of Jackson’s words.
Jackson said that at the banquet, he would give Kylian the last test...
Up until now, I’m still unaware of what that last test he was talking about, but whatever that was, I couldn’t help but feel inexplicably uneasy.
Especially with Jackson’s last message sent to me. He said that I should find a way to get to the castle earlier while Kylian came later after me which was already done.
According to Jackson, as long as Kylian arrives at the venue on time, he’ll declare him as my husband and chosen mate… officially acknowledging him. But that’s too… easy.
And easy was never Jackson’s style. I couldn’t help but be suspicious.
It couldn’t possibly be as simple as it seems.
I looked up at Kylian again, asking, “Are you really sure that you can arrive in time before the banquet starts at seven?”
“I am.”
“Really, really sure?” I persisted.
Kylian let out a small laugh and gave me a peck. “I am really, really sure. Why are you so nervous?”
I momentarily froze, heart skipping a beat, rocking my brain to make a justifiable explanation. “Well… It’s because I’m just an omega so it’s normal for me to be nervous in attending such occasions. that’s why I really hope you’ll be there with me once the party starts.”
“Oh, don’t worry about it, I got you,” he said and suddenly let out a mischivous smirked that made me back away a little bit.
“For now…” he started, pushing me to the mattress, and slowly getting on top of me.
With glinting eyes, he added, “Let’s do what we should do first.”
