Chapter 44

It wasn't even a few minutes since Albert had come to stand beside me when Kylian rushed over and punched him, causing Albert to drop onto the ground once again.
"Kylian, stop it!" I urged.
Looking down at Albert, I couldn't help but feel guilt. There was a bruise on his face from his punch, and on his chest was an evident scratch from what he did earlier. Fortunately, the scratch wasn't that deep and was already starting to heal.
I squatted down to help Albert up and that's when I saw the bruise on his back.
It was no surprise seeing as there was a crack on the wall.
After helping Albert up, I glared at Kylian.
How could he casually say words like slut to me? And how could he easily hurt those people who are protecting me without care!
I couldn't help but think how insensitive he was. He easily gets irritated and rarely sees others enough to care.
Albert's my friend and he had always been there to help me when I needed to. I couldn't just stand still and watch him getting hurt because of me. My conscience wouldn't let me.
"This fight ends here! Leave now, Kylian!" I firmly stated while looking at him. I wanted it to end. I don't see why they should be both fighting.
I saw how Kylian stood frozen in his place before he angrily pointed out, "I saved you, Della! I saved you from those disgusting assholes! How can you be so ungrateful to stand on another man's side now?"
It wasn't evident, but a hint of betrayal could be seen in his eyes and heard in his voice.
Suddenly, remembering what happened, that warm feeling that touched my heart resurfaced.
It's true, at least he did save me. Just as I was about to explain to him that I just didn't want them to continue hurting each other and tell him how thankful I was, we heard movements.
Instantly, we were all on high alert.
Looking back, we saw the man who captivated me trying to escape. Luckily, Albert was near him and immediately caught him.
Albert held his arm, twisted it to his back, and held him tightly so he wouldn't be able to run again.
"Who are you? Why did you do that? What do you want?" Albert asked one after another before he harshly threw him on the ground.
What's more infuriating, the bastard only laughs. "What? Do you really think I'll answer just like that?"
Without hesitation, Albert punched him.
Then, he picked him up, and to my surprise, he chained and hung him where I was earlier.
Almost instantly, the man got weaker.
"Yes. I suggest that you do as soon as possible or the more it will hurt."
After that, Albert expanded the claws in his right hand and scratched the man's chest without hesitation.
Punch, kicks, scratch… Albert continued without mercy.
"Still keeping that mouth shut?"
"There's no…" Seeing as he had no plan to answer, Albert impatiently punched him again.
He'll only rest from hurting him when he's asking. When not answered, he'll continue. By now, the man was already filled with bruises and bleeding.
All throughout, I wasn't blinking or looking away. I stared at the man who humiliated and violated me. He's been hurt that much and I still didn't feel any remorse. Why should I?
Looking carefully at his facial features, I finally remembered where I saw him.
"Kylian's party…" I whispered after realizing. That was where I saw him. That's why he looks familiar!
"What?" Kylian asked.
I was about to speak louder when the man shouted. "Fine, I'll speak!"
Albert instantly stopped. "Say it!"
"It's Margot. She's the one who made me do it. She wanted me to make a pornographic video of Della so she can take revenge."
He's Mick.
Upon hearing Margot's name, I looked at Kylian's direction and I saw how shocked and devastated he was. He unconsciously took a step back upon realizing who's the mastermind of today's tragic event.
All eyes were on him, and all of us could vividly see the guilt overwhelming his face above all emotions.
Margot's his sister. Even though he's not the one who did it and he's clueless, I knew he'll still partially blame himself.
I wanted to approach him and comfort him like he did earlier, but I knew I couldn't let my emotions get the best out of me. Biting my inside cheek, I looked away from his troubled expression.
We're no longer together and we should end things already. That also meant that I should no longer care for him.
As if seeing my dilemma, I suddenly saw Albert in front of me. He was looking at me with worry as he blocked my view from Kylian.
Suddenly, Albert turned his back on me and angrily looked at Kylian. "You knew about this, didn't you?" he accused which caught everyone's attention.
"You knew about your sister's sick plan and went with it so you can be the hero and gain Della's sympathy, right? How pathetic!" he continued.
Deep inside me, I knew that it wasn't Kylian's doing. I knew that he's innocent and didn't know about any of this. I could say something on his behalf, but I couldn't.
All the disappointment I had from him which built up on me caused me to refrain from saying anything. I didn't contradict Albert's accusation.
Instead, I said, "We have to deal with all of this."
With that, I took a step on the side and directly looked at Kylian's eyes. "Leave. I will report the specific matters to the Kingdom Management Office after investigation. You can contact my attorney if you feel you're not guilty, I don't want to see you again. "
He looked at me with those eyes that made me almost soften. There's guilt, anger, and betrayal. There's too many emotions I could see on him that everything was hard to grasp.
He probably thought that I didn't believe him, which was perfect as that's what I wanted him to believe.
"What do you mean by that?" he asked in a restrained voice.
"Exactly what it sounds."
He took a step closer to me and asked in a firmer voice, "You really believed what he's saying? You think I part of this? You don't believe me? Della… I knew we're in a rough patch right now, but seriously?"
"Kylian…"
"Answer me! Tell it to my face. I need to here it, Della. Do you believe me?"
I said nothing. I just stared at him. I believe him, but I dare not speak it out loud.
"Della… Don't tell me that you really don't–" he started to speak but I didn't give him time to speak.
"Save it."
He instantly shut up. Then a rare scene happened. He looked at me with a plea, as if asking me to believe him. And when I didn't budge, he dejectedly looked down on the floor.
For the first time, I saw him looking pitiful. But I had no plan to waiver.
"Are you going to sue me?" Kylian asked.
"I need to investigate, but at the very least, I will sue Margot."
As Margot's brother, his expression froze for a moment, trying to explain for her, "She has bipolar disorder..."
"I know," I interrupted him, "but she wants to destroy me. Mental illness is no excuse for a person to commit a crime. Even if she were your sister I would make her pay unless..."
His eyes lit up, "Unless what?"
"Unless you're willing to sign the divorce papers and promise never to appear in front of me again to disturb my life." I blurted out.
Yes, this is the strategy I just thought of. Kylian has always felt grateful and guilty for Margot's taking care of as a pup when they were little. I believe he will agree to my terms for her.
But Kylian didn't answer me. He gave me a deep look and then left, "I will contact you."
"What's your plan?" Albert asked after giving me a few seconds.
I indifferently replied, "Just waiting."
"What? Why?"
I didn't say anything more and just continued walking. I didn't expect that Kylian didn't directly agree to my conditions.
