Chapter 41

Fae's cheerful announcement set the whole venue on fire. All the werewolves started to howl at the Moon and the music started to get deafening. Champagne corks popped up everywhere like gunshots. The whole dance floor became a pool with young, hot, muscular male models floating on it, cheering and splashing water at each other.

Everyone went on the dance floor with their thin white shirt on and started dancing to the blast of the music while others sprinkled them with their drinks or water.

It was a crazy scene. Aesthetically sickening. Sexually arousing.

But I was in utter shock. They were going all out!

Yes, some part of me felt the excitement, but the bigger part of me just made me freeze there, not knowing what to do.

"Come on!" Fae shouted through the music as she grabbed my arm. I couldn't even act so fast. Before I knew it, I was already in the middle of the dance floor with her beside me.

"Dance it, girl." She encouraged me while she shook her body to the music. Everyone was clapping and cheering for us, so I had no other option. I laughed at my nervousness and shock before I let the music pull my body into a rhythm.

Our feet splashed water, dampening our dress, face, and hair. But somehow we didn't care. Surrounded by a beautiful energetic crowd, we kept dancing like there was no tomorrow.

All of a sudden, the music was gone and the whole club went quiet and the venue went dark.

"Fae? What happened? Is there a power shortage?" I was worried. I couldn't even see her when she was only a few steps away.

"Fae… Wh—" I couldn't finish my words as the lights suddenly opened again, and the music turned to a sexy tune!

A sexy tune!

Suddenly, I am the only one at the center. Looking around, I saw Fae at the side with immense excitement in her eyes. She's clapping her hand and motioned me to look at my back, and I did. Which I hoped I didn't.

My jaw dropped as many hot men entered the dance floor and crowded around me while they sway to the music. They're muscular with six-pack abs; some are even more. And they're all handsome and hot!

I swallowed as desire surged in me. I couldn't deny the attraction I am feeling. As if the shock I have now wasn't enough, one he-wolf that seemed to be perfectly engraved by goddess approached me. He grabbed my hand and started guiding it to his muscular chest!

I know what Della meant by this. She wanted me to relax and have a good time. She's a good friend and I appreciate her so much, but this was too much. If Jackson knew what I was doing, he would have told my father to lock me up!I'm embarrassed and helpless that I wanted to pull my hand.

In fact, I was about to do that already when a huge warm hand tightly grabbed my hand and pulled me with force.

I twirled and fell into a familiar muscular chest whom I was most attracted to.

It was Kylian.

‘Fae! You silly!' I knew he wouldn't have known where I was if Fae didn't invite him. She surely wanted to annoy him to death. But that won't do anyone good, especially me.

"Della! What do you think you are doing?" he shouted. I looked up at him to retort but was held back by his appearance. He was still as handsome as ever, but his expression was something I didn't usually see. At least not for me.

He looked haggard and flustered, much more than the last time I saw him. He's even breathing unevenly which showed that he must have hurried over to get here.

When I didn't answer, the glint of anger in his eyes intensified and his hold on my hand tightened.

He looked at me fiercely. "The divorce papers aren't signed yet, Della. You are still my Luna and you should remember who you belong to!"

Kylian didn't give me time to answer this time and started dragging me. He obviously wanted me to get out of here.

But wait! Who the hell did he think he was?

How dare he try to control me when he couldn't even reject Flora? What right did he have over me? I'm tired of him trying to control everything about me.

I was utterly mad and drunk. Just a great time for the alcohol to boast my confidence.

Wanting him to feel even just an ounce of fury that's been building up in my chest, I harshly pulled my hand and set myself free. Not wasting time, I pulled the nearest he-wolf beside me, tiptoed, and kissed him in the next second.

Since I've just been surrounded by he-wolf models that Fae has prepared for me, I figured that whoever this poor passer-by was, he wouldn't blame me.

The kiss didn't last that long as I only did that to spite Kylian. I stepped back, looked at Kylian and was satisfied by his expression.

He's about to kill everyone here with madness. I think it was enough to make him know how I felt when I saw him in bed with Flora.

His eyes were red and he looked fiercely back and forth between the poor man I kissed and me. I looked back at him fearless, but said nothing.

I must admit that his angry expression, including the trembling mouth corner and the sadness in his eyes, made me feel good. He should understand that I can do anything with anyone now if I want.

Silence and anger brewed between us in a way that had never happened between us before—we had always been either in burning love or biting cold for the past four years.

The killing silence finally ended with a voice suddenly appeared.

"Hey. The party is just beginning. You should go and enjoy yourself like everyone here instead of finding fault in a beautiful woman like Della."

The voice was so familiar that it told me something made my heart sink. Like a slow-motion scene in a movie, I turned my head stiffly, and the fact I least wanted to see unfolded in front of my eyes, and I opened my mouth and eyes wide.

The stranger man I kissed was not a stranger at all.

I looked up at him in surprise, smiled awkwardly.

It's Albert.

Damn, I think I cause bigger trouble than I intend to!

My cheeks instantly turned red. Kissing a stranger was one thing. But Albert is the important subordinate and friend I want and Kylian also knew him! I couldn't help but feel disoriented.

‘Why kiss him of all the men in here? Stupid, Della!' My wolf asked me. Let alone her, even I am blaming myself now.

But it seemed that Kylian had noticed the man's true identity before, he sneered and started to talk to provoke Albert.

"What are you doing here, Alpha heir of River Ash Pack?"

I'm amazed that he already knows Albert's identity so clearly. But Albert only placed his arm over my shoulder and answered calmly, smirking. " I'd rather be with Della than the Alpha heir class. She offered me a great job and I couldn't resist her. I mean… how can I resist my girlfriend, right?"

What the hell was he talking about? I got him in trouble, but does he really want to piss off a mighty Alpha Kylian?

As if he knew what I was thinking about, Albert looked at me after his last word and before I could say anything, he gave me a wink.

I froze for a second, and then when I realized what he meant, I forced a sweet smile and said, "Just say that you cannot stand being away from me for too long."

At my words, Kylian lowered his head and murmured, "G-girlfriend...?" and his wolf howled at Albert before he could react and rage.

"Are you guys already dating?" Kylian's voice was a little weak, and I could barely catch what he was saying.

"I guess it's none of your business, Kylian, we're done—"

"No!" he yelled, startling me, "Della, I know you're mad at me, but you shouldn't do it this way. You're still my rightful Luna! You...you shouldn't be going with another man. And what about Prince Jackson? Are you going to hook up with a group of men to get revenge on me?"

I looked deeply into him. His tone was sharp and his eyebrows were tightly furrowed, a bit unlike the Alpha Kylian I'm familiar with. I tried my best to answer with a cold tone, "So that's your imagination? But no. I am no longer your poor housewife, Kylian. You should wake up from your dream now. I am now free to do whatever I want."

Sadness flashed in his eyes before he loosened his clenched hand and dejectedly walked away. I was surprised that it hurt me more than anything to see him leave like that.

I thought we wouldn't have feelings for each other after the rejection.

I put my hand on my chest, trying to ease the pain in my heart. He left dejectedly, then as if picking up his cell phone to make a call. Maybe call Flora to get her back.

A good choice. That's the best for both of us-

He lived happily with his fated mate, and I was free to have a new life of my own.

Composing myself, I turned and looked at Albert. "Albert, thank you for your help. I appreciate it, but I have to tell you that I won't be falling for another man again."

I wanted to make it clear as soon as possible.

Albert smiled reassuringly at me, shrugging. "Hey, don't worry, it's never my intention. I just wanted to piss him off. I hate his arrogance. And...you help me with Cliff's case, remember? I heard from John that you need help, so here I am. I will help you take over the Lycan Kings' throne and nothing more."

Although he was laughling, an unexplainable glint of sadness flashed in his eyes, but it was too fast that I think it was just because of the alcohol that I'm seeing things.

Nonetheless, hearing his words ease my feelings. I didn't want more complications.

After thanking him again, I excused myself and went to the bathroom. However, as soon as I took a step inside, everything went black.
