Chapter 35

Della's POV

“Prince Jackson already sent the divorce papers to Kylian's father and former Alpha, Luke.” my brother’s Beta said and the trembling in my heart couldn't be explained as my ears rang with foreseen warning after hearing Haley's words.

"That's none of your business anymore. He made his choice and—"

"It's life and death! You don't know Luke!" I exclaimed to Jackson when he tried to reason out.

Panic was rushing through my veins as I walked in a small circle, fingers fidgeting as I tried to regulate my breathing.

Looking dearly into my brother's eyes, I solemnly repeated, "It's life and death, Jackson. It's not just beating or harsh words. Luke is all about reputation. He'll kill him."

I knew what fate awaited Kylian, and I wouldn't be able to stomach it if his life was jeopardized because of me. With hate or not, it was just too much.

With one last deep stare at Jackson, who seemed to calm down and understand a bit of me, I turned around and started walking out.

But after a few steps, Haley blocked my path with her arms wide open. "Princess, you can't go back there. If it's as dangerous as you say, we can't have you in danger."

Void with emotions, I replied, "I'm a Lycan. You think they can handle me?"

The tension in her eyes calmed a little, but sadness glinted on it as she replied in defeat, "That's the real question though. Will you be going there as an Omega or a Lycan Princess?"

My tongue suddenly felt like its been cut then. I swallowed and couldn't give her any reply.

I didn't want my identity known, but I didn't want Kylian dead, either.

And right now, Kylian's in danger, and I didn't have the time to waste to sort my mind.

With that, I walked past Haley and went out of the door. As soon as I was far from the castle, I jumped high in the air and landed on my four paws, ground radiating in my palms.

I raised my head, and my eyes turned golden, giving me a sensitive and clear vision of my surroundings.

Faster than cars, I ran my way through the forest beside the highway toward the Dark Moon Pack. The scenery beside me passed by me like a blur, and the cold wind brushed through my snow-white furs.

Being a descendant of the royal family, I was born with much greater abilities. And among my entire family, I'm the fastest in running. My senses were much more heightened than any werewolves, even the Alphas.

Like a hawk, my eyes stayed focused in front, and before I knew it, I was already in the Dark Moon Pack, jumping through the obstacles and going straight to Alpha's office, where I'd followed Kylian's scent to be in.

Without stopping and thinking, I broke into his office, unstopped by the stationed warriors outside.

My front legs stretched, and my eyes glowed in fury as I witnessed Kylian being beaten by Luke.

The scent of metallic rust blood rushed through my nostrils. Kylian had cuts and bruises all over his body, and his clothes were drenched in blood. Some of his injuries were already healed, but some were still gravely bleeding, which wasn't surprising knowing how Luke was found to be using silver-mixed weapons.

My breathing became rugged in fury, making my head snap towards Luke's direction, teeth greeting while a low and threatening growl left my lips.

"Who are you?" Luke looked at me with shock in his eyes.

At first, he was only stunned and widened his eyes, but when he felt the dominating and rage demeanor radiating all over me, he was frozen on his feet, and I could literally smell fear in him.

Well, he should be. He should fear me because I could easily snap the life out of him if I wanted to.

I looked back at Kylian again, heart-wrenching in pain from seeing him coughing up blood and looking so helpless, almost dead.

If others were to see the situation he was in now, others would probably laugh at him for the fact that despite being an Alpha, he's still being beaten to death by his own father.

But as ridiculous as it was, I understand the dilemma he was in. It's still his father, and the trauma he had been in since childhood was not to be underestimated. All his life, he had been running under the silver whip of patriarchy ruled by his father.

He could overpower countless of powerful Alphas in the kingdom, but it won't be as easy as saying to get rid of the shadow of his childhood.

With that, I looked back at Luke and roared with anger, my voice echoing in the room and beyond, the ground shaking from the anger that radiated by me. Rushing, I ran toward Luke's direction and jumped with my right paw in the air.

My claw was shaper than any knife scratched through his skin, and four long horizontal marks landed on his neck, blood immediately streaming down to his chest.

Terrified, Luke backed away with his hands holding his injury to stop the blood. Then, he repeated with a trembling roar, "Who are you?"

Deep and threatening growls echoed between my lips while I stared with rage in his way.

If he dared to touch my husband again, I wouldn't think twice and bite his neck off!

"Oh my! What—"

I turned around and looked toward the doorway when I heard Natasha gasping in shock. Her legs trembled, and she backed away in fear while keeping her eyes on me.

Like a fish, her lips kept moving as if she wanted to say something, but no words were coming out of her mouth.

Her eyes were shifting between Kylian, Luke, and me, looking so horrified. Her eyes momentarily stopped at Luke, who was now covered in blood, making her cry and shake in fear.

With one last look in my direction, she ran out in fear.

Following her, Luke passed by me with his hands on his neck in an attempt to stop his bleeding. When he passed by me, I roared at him, making him jump in fear and fasten his pace out.

Coward!

He didn't even bother to fight out of fear and shock before he went out running. I scoffed at the irony. It seemed like he was only strong and brave around the people he reared in fear, like his son.

Once he left, I used the tip of my nose and closed the door before turning around to look at Kylian who now slipped from the wall and was lying on the ground in the pool of his own blood.

He stared intensely at me with a small glint of desire and curiosity. He looked right into my eyes as if he wanted to read through my soul and find some answers in it.

Looking at him, my heart clenched in pain and indescribable rage. I couldn't believe that I was here helping him after I decided to leave him for good. But what could I do? I couldn't help but be worried about him. Even I, myself, couldn’t stop my own body from coming back in this forsaken pack to save this asshole.

But beneath that, anger was a hinge of worry as I looked at his injuries and the amount of blood around him.

I've known how strong and powerful he was. I've witnessed how he effortlessly defeated his enemies and won battles. He's one of the most feared Alphas, and yet here he was, vulnerable.

Hence, despite all my anger, like a fool, my heart softened from sadness for him.

Walking toward the wardrobe, I shifted to my human form and hastily wore a pair of clothes.

"Della…" he whipped in a weak voice.

Without saying anything, though, I dragged him by his collar and pulled him toward the bathroom. Putting my arms beneath his armpits, I pulled him up into the tub and let the water wash the blood in his body.

I was about to turn the faucet off when the tub was full, but Kylian's hands suddenly held my wrist and pulled me close to him.

He stared into my eyes and made me lean in him as he asked, "How come you have a wolf? And why is it so small? Is it because you're an omega?"

Curiosity was overflowing in him.

"Let me go!" I shouted. I had already saved him, and I was under no obligation to answer any of his questions.

Instead of doing as I said, he did the opposite and pulled me closer to him before his hand hastily gripped my neck. His canine showed as he gritted his teeth. "Did the Lycan Prince help you send out that divorce paper? Why are you so eager to divorce me and be the mistress of that powerful man? Huh?"

Hearing his foul words, I sent a deadly glare at his way and twisted my body in a better position before bawling angrily at him, "I'm not Jackson's mistress!"

Even if he didn't know that Jackson was my brother, Jackson didn't even have a mate or wife yet, so how dare he call me that? It's infuriating.

What's more annoying was how he could easily say degrading words.

A smile slowly formed on Kylian’s lips before he bitterly asked, "What? Are you dreaming of being the Prince's Luna?"

He snorted and added, "Do you really think the Lycan King will let a rejected Omega like you be with his son? Don't kid me!"

Pushing his hand away, I gritted my teeth and shouted at him, "The Lycan King won't care whoever the prince chooses, and I'm not his mistress!"

I know my father. He wasn't as shallow-minded as them. For sure, no matter who Jackson decides to marry in the future, as long as she's not a human, he won't object.

Hence, even if Jackson ended up loving an Omega and marrying her, even if their child wouldn't be as strong, it wouldn't change the important thing—which was that he still could have a child, a royal offspring, to continue our legacy.

Unlike the people in the Dark Moon Pack, my father cared about his children's feelings.

Not seemingly believing me, Kylian sneered, "So, you're admitting you want to be his Luna!"

My jaw dropped. Didn't he understand what I said before? Was he deft or what?

Unexpectedly, though, after asking that, he pulled me again, and this time with much force, causing me off guard as he managed to pull me into the tub with him.

I struggled, and water trashed all over us. "What the hell are you doing?"
