I frowned. Were we at a stadium? A party?
Alexander came behind me to take off the blindfold. "Don't open your eyes yet." He took off the kerchief and I obeyed him by keeping my eyes close even though I really wanted to open it. He placed his hands over my eyes and then started counting, "ONE, TWO. OPEN."
He released his hands from my face. When I opened my eyes I took me a while to get used to the colours and the lighting but when my eyes adjected I looked around me I was shocked. This was the last thing I was expecting. I was expecting a candlelit dinner until the moon but this was the opposite.
"An amusement park," I chortle excitedly. The last time I was at a carnival was when I was in college and that was years ago. I turned and wrapped my arms around him. " THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU." He laughed and I left the vibration of his chest beneath mine.
"I guess, you like it then," he observed.
"Like it? I love it. This is the best date ever." I giggled at him.
"You're welcome. Come let's join the line and buy the tickets."
We walked to a long line but after a few minutes of standing in the line that was barely moving Alex looked irritable so he turned to me. "Stay right here, I'll be back." He left me at the back of the line as he made his way to the top.
I had no idea what his plans were but I saw him talking to one of the cashiers. The man laughed and then they shook hands. Alex started walking back to me and when he reached, he tugged my hands lightly and tell me to come with him.
The next thing I know, we were at the front of the line with Alex ordering the tickets. I guess, this some of the perks of being rich. I looked behind me and saw that some of the other customers weren't happy at all. They were sending us glares. I guess some them didn't like what just happened and I'd be like them too if someone just came and was getting served first just because he was rich.
I sighed I guess no matter how rich you are, they are going to be ups and downs. After Alex got the ticket, he put his hands around my waist and we start walking away from the line.
"Which ride do you wanna go first?" Alex asked breaking the silence.
"I want to go on the Carousel, first." I said smiling up at him.
He looked at me with raised brows. "How old are you again?" he asked rhetorically but I felt like answering so I did.
"Six."
He looked in my eyes and smile. "I believe you." He ruffled my hair and then started to look in the direction of the Carousel. Who said Carousel is only for children? Adults deserve to ride on plastics ponies too.
The line for the Carousel wasn't long so we were on the next round. I laughed as I placed my legs over the pony and straddle him. Alexander did the same from beside me. I laughed when the Carousel started to around and up at the same it was fun and I loved every childish moment of it.
We went on a few more rides like the Roller Coaster, Bumper Car, Scary Room, The picture booth and the Ferris Wheel.
We even tired hampering and basketball but he still hasn't won me anything. I never had someone care enough to win be anything and so I wanted him to be the first.
"Alex, you haven't won me anything as yet," I said pouting. I placed my cotton candy in my mouth and let it melt. After years of hard work, I finally got to be the childish adult that my heart had been craving for.
He looked at me and smiled "Okay, let's win you a teddy bear." His hands when now enlaced in mine. We walked over to a man who was advertising his product. He had bottles. The person who is able to make the 20 hoops around the bottle win a stuffed animal.
I was so excited to see Alexander do this. This was one of the hardest games here and it was obviously because the man still had so many teddy bears left.
"Young, man win a prize for your wife." The man that looked around forty-five said. He wore a blue plaid shirt and dark jeans. He had a bald patch in the centre of his head. He was quite a sight to look at. His blue eyes might him a looker, probably was a player back in the days.
"Oh, he's ...." I was about to tell the man that Alexander wasn't my husband but my boyfriend but Alexander cut me off.
"Give me 40 hoops please, here are the tickets. I'm going to win my girl a teddy bear." I smile at his word choice, he called me his girl. It was a little possessive but I loved it. I was never anyone's girl before.
Alexander released me from his arms and then start playing. He lifted his hands and started throwing the hoops around the bottles. I was shocked when I saw how good at this game he was. When the forty hoops where finished I looked at him with awe.
That was amazing, he didn't even miss one bottle. He was good. The man reluctantly placed a big blue bear in my hands. I hugged him close to me.
