"We'll find her soon, I have the best of private detectives working to find her."
"To be honest, I don't think you should give him back to her. God knows what she'll do the second time." She didn't deserve the bundle of joy that she was given.
He stood from his stool and walked over to the kittle. "She's his mother, she has 100% right to have him back." He opened the top cupboard and took out two cups. He took the sugar and the tea bag from another cupboard.
"But Alexander she abandoned him once, don't you think she'll do again. Alliyah only cares for herself. She doesn't care the persons she hurt. I don't want her to hurt him." I couldn't let her hurt him like she hurt me, it would break my heart a second time.
"You love him don't you." it was more a statement than a question.
I nod, "Yes." I laugh, "Who wouldn't? He's so adorable. He's everything I'd want if I had a child." I loved everything about the baby, from the way his face lids up when I played pick-a-boo to the way his poo smells.
He walked back toward the island with the two cups in his hands, handing me the yellow cup and he kept the blue. He sat down to look at me, "She hurt you really bad, didn't she?"
I nod, "Yea. So much that I don't think I can forgive her. She ruined my life."
"That bad?"
I lift my tea then take a small sip, "That bad."
"I don't know what happened between you and your sister, but you can forgive her." He suggests but he didn't understand the extent of my hurt. I don't think I'll be able to forgive her or any of them. I lost everything because of her careless actions. If they wanted me to forgive them, it was gonna take a whole lot more than an apology.
I nod, "Back to you. What's your favourite colour?" I said changing the topic.
He scratches his head, "I don't have one."
I shake my head, "Nope, everyone has one colour that they love." I smiled up at him as I rub my hands on the warm cup.
"I love all the colours. What's your favourite colour?" he lifts his cup to his hand and drank the tea.
"I love Red and purple and blue."
He moved the cup from his face, "Good colours."
I nod my head agreeing, "What's your favourite food?" I lift my cup and took a small sip.
"I love all food." I laugh at his words and shake my head.
"Do you love all of everything?" I said trying to be rude.
"No, but like there is not anything specific I like. I love food."
"I love food too, but I have a favourite." Everyone has a favourite food that they love to eat, it's a fact. Even if they don't want to admit it.
"What's your favourite?" he looked across at me, genuinely curious.
"Well," I smile then lift my cup to my head but place it back on the corner without drinking. "There is a Jamaican restaurant close to where I live, and I absolutely love, I mean absolutely love Curry Goat and Rice and Peas." Who wouldn't? When the curry touched that coconut rice it tasted amazing.
He laughs, "You mean Goat Curry."
I shake my head, "No dude, no. There a big difference. Goat Curry is Indian and countries from like the east side of the Caribbean makes Goat Curry but Jamaicans they have Curry Goat...Do you get me?" I had no idea if my explanation was right, but it was close enough.
He shakes his head, "How do you know all this?"
Well, I hang out at the restaurant sometime, it's not like I had a lot of friends to go out and party with.
"Oh, I hear things." I lifted my cup to lips.
"I am going try this Jamaican Curry Goat then." He promised with a smile.
Removing the cup, I respond, "You should, you'll love it."
"I believe you."
I looked into his sparkling eyes, "Trust is everything." And that's why it hurt me so much that my sister betrayed me.
"What's your favourite movie?" he got me by surprise when he asked.
"Guess?" It was childish, but it was apart of me to tell someone to guess when they asked certain questions, especially my age.
"Forrest Gump."
I raised my brows taken back. "No." I laugh, "Not Forrest Gump but it's on the list."
"There is more than one?"
I nod, "One simply can't have one favourite movie. There are so many great movies out there."
He rocks his head, "True. So what's your favourite favourite movie?"
"Promise me you won't laugh." I looked into his eyes pleading.
He lifts his right hand to his chest, "Cross my heart."
I smile, "The Princess Bride."
He burst out laughing.
"Will you stop please?" I look over at him holding his belly. I don't know why he's even laughing so hard, the Princess Bride happens to be a great movie. "It's a beautiful movie. Better than the ones they're making these days."
He lifts his head, "Okay, I agree with the last statement but really the Princess Bride that's so cheesy. I was expecting something like Faults in the Stars.... which is way cheesier by the way."
"I've never watched Faults in the Stars." I read the book and I didn't want the movie to destroy my view of the book. Books are always better. Always.
He tilted his head to the side, "Really. I watched it and I'm me."
I laugh, what the hell did he mean by that?
"I read the book, so I don't need to watch the movie." and I knew the book would be a trillion times better.
"In that case." He drank some more of his tea then continued, "But why? Why the Princess Bride?"
