Hearing footsteps from upstairs she looked at the staircase as she saw Ascian was coming with Ahren. Her heartbeat increases with both fear and love. Looking at Ahren, she smiled unintentionally. Like father like son, wearing army green cargo pants with black t-shirt and wearing black ankle boots. His hair was combed back in the same way Ascian combed his hair.
Moving her eyes from him, she looked at Ascian, even though he was wearing all black he had just worn similar clothes to Ahren. She let out a deep sigh and watched their similarities.
"Why did you make him like you?" she asked Ascian with an annoyed tone.
Then he walked towards and smirked, making her heartbeat go wild. Ascian was handsome beyond the expectations and the same goes for Ahren. From one look everyone says that they are father and son.
"He's mine. So he should be like me. Right Ahren?" he said as he looked at Ahren and asked.
"YES!"
Ahren answered happily as he looked up at Ascian with a pretty smile on his face. Seeing his smile, Mirela's heart tightened. She lowered her head and clutched her dress tightly. Then waited for a while forcing her tears back.
"Ascian, please take care… I'm scared" she muttered.
Only Ascian could hear her broken voice, he smiled at her and nodded as he caressed her hair in a lovely manner. Then he kissed her forehead.
"I will, don't worry. Just trust me" he whispered against her ear.
Mirela helplessly looked into his eyes and nodded, her heart was clumsy and reckless. She didn't know how to stay alone in the house without both of them knowing that they are going to the blood forest. She sighed and hugged him as she rested her head against his strong chest. She could hear his heartbeat and feel his perfume scent.
"How many days will it take you to come back?" she asked him.
Wrapping his arm around his slim waist, he looked at her. Then shook his head making her heart tighten. She wanted an answer from him, not just the shake of his head. She just wanted to know how many days that she would have to spend here alone without them.
"Tell me an answer Ascian. Just don't just shake your head. You have your own plans for everything. Just tell me and go. I will wait" she uttered.
Then he smiled at her and caressed her face with a deep sigh. Then he looked at Ahren before speaking.
"It will take more than a month." her heart was pierced by his answer. One month? 30 days without them? How could she even think about it? She can't and she will never. Her eyes moistened and she helplessly shook her head.
"How am I supposed to stay without you two?"
Her voice was broken and at the same time filled with fear of losing her mate and son. She knew that Ascian was strong and nothing will happen to him but no one knows what's moon goddess' wish is. No matter what, if something is going to happen, it's happening for sure and no one can stop it.
"Mirela, just listen to me and stay here okay? Don't go anywhere. I have kept a few warriors to protect you. Especially think about him, we are doing this for him"
He kissed her forehead once more and explained to her. She again nodded at him helplessly, she needed to cure Ahren and now Ascian was doing it so she shouldn't just stop them. She cannot be selfish.
"Alright then, promise me that you would come back safe with him. I want both of you to come home safely" she forcefully smiled at him and asked.
"Yes, I promise." holding her hand, he smiled at her. Mirela nodded at him and looked at Ahren as she bent down and kissed his forehead.
"Listen to daddy and stay closer to him okay? Don't go anywhere without daddy. I love you baby" hugging him, she said while forcing her emotions back. She didn't feel like letting him go. She just loved her son and she had no idea what would happen to her if she couldn't see him again.
"Yes momma, I will stay closer to daddy" Mirela smiled and nodded at him as she kissed his forehead again. Then she looked at Ascian and smiled.
"Take care of yourself too. I love you" she kissed his jaw and uttered. Ascian watched her clenching his jaws and after some time he chuckled and nodded. Then he pecked on her lips and walked away with Ahren.
Following them, Mirela stopped at the door as she watched Ascian getting into his jeep after placing Ahren on the passenger seat. She knew that he was not taking any warrior or his beta with him because he didn't know anyone when it came to the blood forest.
That deadly forest makes peoples' minds change and kill each other. Ascian surviving there for three months when he was a kid means he should be worshiped by everyone. She didn't know how he did it but she was sure that he would come back with Ahren again.
He was strong and had so many abilities as the best alpha. She let out a deep sigh and watched them leaving as Ahren waved at her with a big bright smile on his face. She smiled back at him and waved at him too.
"Luna, we were asked to protect you. Please cooperate with us. We cannot let the same thing happen again while the alpha was not here."
Mirela turned and looked at the woman and the man who spoke to her, then she smiled thinking that Ascian had already imprisoned her before going. She nodded at them and smiled.
"Did he say anything more?" she asked with a smile.
Then the both warriors in front of her lowered their heads without answering her. They are still loyal to their alpha. Without making things hard for them, Mirela walked into the house and went upstairs as she entered the room and closed the door behind her.
Letting out a deep sigh, she leaned against the door and slowly sat on the cold floor as she buried her face against her palms. She was both scared and hurt and prayed to the moon goddess to protect them.
After staying like that for a while, she got up from the floor and walked towards the drinks cabinet inside of the room and looked at it. She remembered the way Ascian used to drink here and she unintentionally smiled.
'They will be safe' she spoke to herself and walked away from it as she went to the book rack. Taking a book from the rack, she stepped towards the huge glass window and sat on the cold floor as she always used to do. Then she started to read the book, wanting to make her mind relax and not think about how dangerous the blood forest was.
Ascian would come back with Ahren and she was sure about it. So thinking that, she just forced her mind to pay attention to the book she was reading.
