Chapter 90

"Finally" I say as I find an outfit that I like

I chose a black halter top and threw a light pink jacket over it. I paired that with black skinny jeans that have a rip on the knees and white low top converse.

Last minute I chose to add a black dad cap on top of my wavy brown hair.

When I'm done getting dressed I walk out of my room and down the stairs.

As I enter the kitchen I see a note stuck on the refrigerator door.

I gravitate towards the note and read it.

'Dear Aspen,

Wash the dishes before leaving the house or you're grounded.

P.s. there's fresh fruit in the fridge, you're welcome. -Mom'

I roll my eyes at her note and walk over the sink only to gape.

Is she serious right now?!

There's only one dish in there!

I groan in irritation just as Charlotte walks into the kitchen with a laugh.

"What did I do?" She asks as she holds her hands up in surrender

She's wearing a grey cropped tank top which is covered by a red and black flannel. She paired that with ripped black skinny jeans and adidas superstars.

"Nothing that I know of" I say before I walk over to the sink and start to wash the dish

"Can you take a bowl of fruit out of the fridge?" I ask her as I start to scrub the plate

She doesn't say anything as she abides by my request and opens the fridge. I hear the fridge close as I finish washing the plate and put it in the drying rack.

I turn around and see Charlotte throw a grape up and try to catch it with her mouth only for the grape to hit her in the eye.

I laugh out loud at her failed attempt at doing a simple trick.

"Like you can do any better" She teases with a smirk

"I can" I say as I grab a grape and take a deep breath before focusing and throwing it up. I take a single step back and expertly catch the grape in my mouth

I look at Charlotte only to see her mouth hanging open in shock.

She's about to say something but gets interrupted by a loud honk in my driveway.

That must be Kayden.

Charlotte places the bowl of fruit back in the refrigerator before we walk out the door towards Kayden's car.

Holy shit.

As we enter the black arcade with neon accents I realize that I haven't been here yet.

In the far left of the building there's a full on bowling rink with concession stands off to the side.

In front of us is a skating rink that has a black light shining on it. I see a bunch of dads helping their younger daughter balance in the kiddie skates.

In the far right there's a bunch of random arcade games and racing games.

"Where did you find this place?" I ask Kayden in shock

"He didn't, I did" Carolina says from behind the counter of a slushy concession stand

She has a job?!

Since when does she have a job?!

"Since when do you have a job?" Charlotte questions as we make our way towards her

"Yesterday while you were at Aspens house" she says with a smirk

"They were desperate for new employees" she says with a shrug as she picks up an empty slushy container and starts to wash it

"Congratulations" I say to her with a smile which makes her laugh.

We're all quiet for a couple of seconds before Kayden opens his mouth.

"Guys, How about we go bowling" he suggests

Charlotte and I agree even though I suck at bowling.
