Chapter 133
1522words
The sky is gloomy. It seems like it's calling for something bad to happen. Everyone is confused and astounded. The thing we told them is the last thing they'll believe, but having Mapheus by our side made it more easier for us.
I lifted my head to look at Damon. He's in his dragon form.
We managed to keep some of the Chosens by our side, but some still chose to stay by the fake God's side. They were so happy to know that God Diante is alive that they've set aside the mere fact that he started all the chaos in Spheria.
And now we're standing outside waiting for him to clarify our claims. I know that he knows that we know already who he is. The reason why he asked for Mapheus to look for the vortans who carry around a Fluntuela plant. He wanted to block us. But Mapheus chose to believe us.
My lips quivered when the God finally appeared on his floating podium. The strips of gold from his platform made him look intimidating.
Intimidating enough to make the Chosens by our side question our claims.
"The prophecy's children are accusing me of being a fake God?" he asked with a calm smile plastered on his face. I wanted to wipe it off with my own hands, but I couldn't. He's acting like he doesn't know what we're talking about. "I never thought that the the word disappointment will be partnered to the both of you." His smile faded.
I can feel my tears poking the corner of my eyes, but I quickly wipe them using the back of my hands.
We trusted and loved you, Diante.
"Tell me, Golden. What made you think that the kind God of Spheria is your enemy?" he asked calmly. I stared directly on his lying eyes. The way he spits those words is making me shake. How can he lie in front of the Chosens who believed in him?
"W—Why?" is all I managed to say.
I saw the unknown emotion crossing his eyes, but it quickly faded away. He forced a worried expression on his old face. I hold my sword when he raised his bludgeon. Damon snarled beside me while still glaring at Hlaford.
"You killed, God Hlaford using a new dangerous curse from Wizarnia. You used Miss Puff's hatred of you to cover up your fake death and killed her. You silence Freeda with your own bare hands. How long will you hide in God Hlaford's copied form? We already know who you are, Diante. We trusted and loved you and this is how you're paying us!" Elaine yelled on the top of her lungs earning a dead stare from the fake God. His silence made his followers doubt him. He couldn't defend himself. Does that means he's yielding?
"Will he be able to touch the bludgeon if he's not the real, God Hlaford?!" one of the Chosens on his side screamed to us. I looked at Damon. We asked the same thing to ourselves, but that's when we realized that the God's bludgeon has been long gone. The bludgeon he has now is fake. "And what about the times where God Hlaford appeared on God Diante's funeral? You're being ridiculous. Just because you're the prophecy's children doesn't necessarily mean we will immediately believe you. We're loyal followers of the God."
"And you're following the wrong God," Josh interrupted.
"You don't get to talk, Mythos! How dare you bring an enemy in here. That only serves as the proof that all of you are accomplices with the Mythos and Wizarnia!"
I bowed my head. That's not true. God Diante caused the first God's death. He was the one to put the poison in his drink. He was the one who put up the serpent to life. He was the one who created all chaos in Vortaxia. He made the Kingdoms fight each other. Why? Only he knows.
"Let me wake him up."
Gab touched his head while locking eyes contact with the said Chosen. He became unconscious and the next thing he wakes up. Horror is visible all over his face. What Gab did is memory transfusion. He shared his memories to that Chosen and it terrified him. The amount of blood and darkness in there must have scare him so much.
"Y—You're a monster!" he said nervously and walked back to us just to get petrified in one sway of hand. I watched in horror as the chosen from earlier slowly turned into a rock.
"AHHHHHHH!"
Everyone started screaming. They throw different powers from him, but he's protected by the sacred podium he has.
"Gods and Goddesses are too naive. Everyone have been petrified already. Should I put all of you to the next list?" he asked devilishly as he slowly transformed himself into his true form. "I will start with you two." He gazed at our spot.
The reason why it was easy for Freeda to take the bludgeon. It was him all a long. He was the one who created the magic gems.
"HAHAHAHAH!" he laughed like a demon as he turns everyone into rocks. The vortans who committed felony became normal. All the evil deeds they've done came back to their memories. God Diante looked at them. "You are now free. Be my apostles and I will surely save you from your long time punishment."
The large insects started flying around us. It sucks the blood of everyone it lands on.
My eyes landed on Bubbles. She turned into a woman with black skin. She gazed at me. "B—Bubbles..." I murmured.
"KILL YOUR MASTERS!"
No.
"Grghhh!" Damon covered himself to me when an insect tried to lock its fangs to me. He blew fire from it and it turned into ashes.
Betrayal makes me so weak. Even the ivaw I trust and love is going to betray me.
Steve imitated Damon's dragon form and started blowing the insects flying around with deadly poison in their salivas. Josh smashed every insect he sees. Elaine used her organic insecticide go kill the anyone insects. Gab is trying to control Diante's mind.
And I?
"Golden! Wake up." He tapped my cheeks. I don't know why I can't move my hands and legs. I feel heavy inside. Like something is trying to break inside of me. "Golden!"
I—I can't move.
My ears can't stop hearing the cries and pain of the vortans.
"AHHHHHHHH!"
"Help me!"
My heart is slowly losing its beating.
"Make this stop!"
"AHHHH!"
"NO!"
My hands touched my spinning head. I'm losing my breath. I'm...
And everything went black.
Damon's POV.
"GOLDEN?!" I tried shaking her, but she didn't wake up. What the hell is happening to her? "Elaine, I need you to hold and check on h—" I wasn't able to finish what I was saying when she suddenly floats in the air unconscious.
My eyes grew big.
She's glowing like the sun. This can't be. The myth is true. God Hlaford's phoenix soul is alive and it's inside Golden right now. She's the lost phoenix of Spheria. That explains why she has no gift.
Her glowing eyes opened and it attracted all the insects in the area. They started flying towards her, but she she wipe them out using just one hand. Red mana came out of her body and it turned every insects into ashes. Diante looked at her. I don't see any anger nor fear in his face. He's just giving her a dead stare.
Golden flew to Diante in split seconds and the next thing we knew is she's strangling him to death.
But why is he not fighting back?
"I—I'm glad you finally know what you are, Golden. Thank you for trusting me." And he burned in her hands. My brows furrowed. The way he delivered his last words to Golden. "I—I love you..."
Diante has a secret feelings for my parsen?
His death turned silence the whole place. The ivaws who turned back to their normal forms didn't move an inch on their places. They love and respected their masters. They can never hurt them.
I scooted to her when she suddenly passed out. She landed in my arms. I looked at her slightly opened eyes.
"I—It's done. We're safe now."
—Five years later—
"Stop running around!" I scolded the little girl running around in the palace. She just giggled and continued running away from me. I chased her amusingly. "Miracle!" I called.
"You'll just exhaust yourself. You know she's faster than anybody in here. Hahaha." Damon's voice speak in my mind. I looked at him. He has a huge smirk on his face while chasing a stare to his daughter.
I landed my eyes on the little girl. She flapped her wings jokingly and blew a cute fire on her small mouth.
"Ohh-mama!" she chirped.
He's right. I can never win to a half phoenix half pure dragon kid. "Oh-mama! Oh-dada! Hahahaha!" She flies around the room. I glanced at the man standing beside me.
"I love you," he whispered softly.
"I love you."
