Chapter 129

Golden's POV.

About ten eliminators are surrounding Josh. All of them have their scary looking wands pointed at him. He's standing in the middle with no hint of fear or anything. His face is blank and dead.

"We have to go now, Golden!" Damon desperately grabbed my hand, but I strangled. There's no fucking way we're leaving Josh behind.

"No! We have to help him. Three vortans came inside their Kingdom and three vortans should come out too," I said in a straight voice and was about to go to Josh when he grabbed my hand tightly.

I looked at Josh. He's slowly transforming himself to a wolf. My eyes grew big when one eliminator throw a curse at him.

"Awoooohh!" he growled.

"Josh!"

I pulled my hand off him, but Damon didn't let me go. "Please! Let's help him! We have to help him!" I said desperately to him. He clenched his jaw.

"He fronted himself for our sake. You'll put his sacrifice to waste if you don't hurry now!" he yelled frantically. I shook my head. Sacrifice? No! There's no way I'm going to let him sacrifice himself. "Golden!" I withdraw my hand off him.

I ran to Josh.

The eliminators noticed me right away. They started throwing curses at me, but I'm fast enough to evade all of them. I grabbed the shield from my bag and throw it in front of us. The miniature shield expanded and it covered us.

"J—Josh?!" I nervously called. He looks pale and weak. I have no idea what kind of curse they put on him. "Please, stay awake! We'll get you out of here."

A smoke came out of nowhere. I glanced at Damon. He threw a poisonous smoke grenade to the eliminators. He frantically looked at us. "Quick!" he said in a loud voice. Josh turned back to his normal form. I put his arm on my shoulders and carry him to the exit. Damon is buying us a time by throwing different kind of smoke grenade that Elaine made for us.

"Y—You should have left me," Josh whispered weakly to me. I frantically hissed at him.

"Shut up!"

"You're embarrassing me."

"Shut up and walk!"

I can't believe he still has the guts to chuckle playfully. Damon used the last grenade to cover us up. I came out first. Damon supported Josh and I grabbed him from outside. He followed soon enough. I sighed in relief when the three of us made it out alive.

"F—Fuck," Josh groaned while holding his side. I crawled to him to check his pulse and his wound.

My eyes widened in horror after seeing the huge burned mark on his waist. The skin has completely fall off. How can he smile at this state?

"Oh, gosh! Do we have anything? Where's Elaine's medical kit? I need it now."

Damon went through the bag he has on his back and takes out a green box. He gave it to me and I opened it to find anything I can use to first aid his wound.

"D—Does it hurt?" I asked like a stupid sociopath. He rolled his eyes sarcastically.

"Of course, it does!" he blurted. I awkwardly smiled at him. I took out an organic wound cleanser and pour it on his wound. He bite his lower lip hard to stop himself from groaning so much.

"I—I'm sorry!" I chirped.

"Are you sure you know how to do that?" he asked sarcastically and groan silently in pain.

"N—No. Consider this as first aid. Don't move! I'm putting organic gauze pad in your wound," I told him. Josh obediently followed what I said and just zip his mouth shut. "Don't you do what dogs do?" I asked. He furrowed his brows. "D—Don't you lick your wounds, so it heals faster?" I asked.

"The fuck, Golden?" he hissed.

"I—I'm sorry!"

We stayed there for a few minutes to help him adjust. Damon secured the fluntuela plant in his own bag. He decided to put us on his back, so we can get to the Spheria faster.

Josh is a little skeptical about entering the Spheria Kingdom, but we told him that it'll be okay and he doesn't have to worry about getting caught.

I'm sure that Elaine can help him.

"Don't your walls buzzed when an unidentified vortan comes inside? It happens in my Kingdom," he asked dubiously.

We're now a thousand feet from the ground. Fresh wind is blowing our faces from high up. I made sure to protect Josh's wound from getting aired. He gave me a weird look when I tried putting more gauze pad on his wound, but I told him that it's to protect his wound.

"You'll be alright. Don't think too much about it. Can you move?" I asked. He tried to raised his left hand. It lifted a little, but soon it came down. "Elaine will take care of you. She knows a lot about medical stuff."

He smiled at me. "What? Is she a doctor?" he asked.

"No? But she's really good in identifying herbal plants. Be good to her if you don't want your wounds to get worse." His smile faded.

"She's the girl who yelled at me a few days ago, right?" he asked bitterly. My lips parted.

I almost forgot their first encounter. The reason why Elaine and I fought for the first time. She was being racist and keeps giving him false accusations. I couldn't just sit back and listen to her, so I stood up for Josh. It's all in the past now. What's important is his wound. We have to treat it.

"Don't worry. She's cool now. I talked to her already and she's very sorry to what she did. Please, don't think too much about it," I said in a comforting voice. He nodded his head slowly and nodded.

"Grghhhh!" Damon snarled.

I grabbed the straps from his neck tightly while supporting Josh's body. We descended to the ground swiftly. I smiled when we finally got to the ground. I came down first, so I can support Josh. Damon transformed himself to normal form.

"Are you alright?" Damon asked. The wounded guy raised his hand to say his okay.

My parsen landed his eyes at me.

"Are you okay?" he asked in my mind. I smiled sweetly at him. I nodded my head at him.

Damon supported Josh. We walked to the Spheria Kingdom's walls. The wolf stopped in front of it. He lingered there for a few seconds before yielding a sigh. "They're not going to attack me, right?" he asked jokingly. I chuckled softly and shook my head.

"No. They're not like that."

He smiled at me. "Okay, dragon boy. Let's get inside that Kingdom," he said. I looked at Damon. He nodded his head at me.

I followed them when they started walking to the Spheria. Josh gasped when he finally entered the new kingdom. "W—Woah? This feel light. The atmosphere in you kingdom feels light. I like it!" he said cheerfully. I looked on his face.

Why does he sound happy, but looks so sad at the same time. That's when I realized that this is the place where his parsen died. Freeda died in our Kingdom and Gab once told me that wolves have the ability to smell their parsens' dead orbs.

I stared at his sad eyes. I know you're hiding pain deep inside Josh.
