Chapter 127

Golden's POV.

Beating heart. Trembling hand. Shaking hope. Those are what I have right now as we vigilantly sneak inside the enemies' Kingdom. We went down there, but we got inside facing sidewards. The gravity in their Kingdom is different from the rest.

"Is this the place?" I asked in a small voice.

There are wizardus walking past us. All of them are wearing black outfits that reaches their heels. They've hot hats of a witch and some even have brooms on their hands. Damon slides his hand on mine.

"What are you here for again?" Josh said impatiently like he's so ready to kill the vortan behind Freeda's death. I glanced at him. He's wearing a scary look and I can't help, but fear him.

I've never seen him so mad before. Wee, who wouldn't be mad when someone killed you parsen?

"We have to find the Fluntuela plant. That's how we can track the vortan behind all of this," I replied. He plastered a flat look on his nerdy face. His glasses flashes when he turned to look at the lady walking past us.

We can see them, but they can't see us because of the plants hiding us. Josh clicked his tongue.

"I'm new to this place. It'll be dangerous to wander around asking them. They might suspect us," he said dubiously and leaned to the earthed wall. He glanced at Damon. "Didn't you say you've been here before?" My brows arched from what he said.

I don't remember Damon telling him that. Damon lifted his head to look at him straight in the eyes. I see no hint of surpise on his face. Is he expecting Josh to know that?

"Yes, I happened to see one garden box where they keep all the forbidden and rare plants. They call it the dangerous forest. It's no that far. You know you're there when you start to smell peculiar scents." Damon's hold in my hand tightens. I bite my lip while looking around the place. They're still walking and minding their own business.

I scanned the place using my pair of hazel eyes. This place looks like a cave. Torches are the only thing that lights up the place. My eyes landed on a lady asking for penny. She looks very old and weak. This is the first time I saw a beggar on Vortaxia. I didn't know some vortans are unfortunate too.

"Laxamana will bless you if you help a pure old soul." She's been mumbling that to everyone, but no one seems to buy it. Why does she look familiar?

"L-Laxamana will bless you," she mumbles again. I watch her fall on her knees and lay on the cold hard floor weakly. "L-Laxamana..."

Who is Laxamana?

"Golden?" a deep voice called. I turned my head to look at Damon. He's looking at me worriedly. "Don't stare at anyone in here. They're good at hypnotizing. They don't even have to know if you're getting hypnotized or not." He glanced at the lady I was staring at a few seconds ago. It's still laying on the floor like she's dead.

"We're taking the secret route. Changing of clothes is a must. Do you still have the magic towel?" he asked. I opened my bag to search for the towel. I sighed when I successfully touched it. I'm glad I brought it.

"Change."

The changing of outfits didn't take long. Josh is so determined to finish the mission that he kidnnapped one wizardus to copy his outfit and duplicate more using our replicating mirror.

I'm a little surprised to finally have the chance to wear a different vortan's outfit. It's amazing to see tons of pockets inside their gown. There are different kind of stones that I can't even distinguish from one another. Even the papers with curses listen on them are on my pockets too.

"This will do," Josh said while staring at the mirror. He's looking smart in his wizardus' outfit. "Stare at the right man, Golden. I wouldn't want to cause your petty bickering." He's talking to my reflection on the mirror. I smiled awkwardly and glanced at my parsen who's busy copying the map of Wizarnia.

"Is there anything I can do to help you?" I asked sweetly and sat beside him.

We moved to a much better place. It's still hidden, but unlike the one, this place is way more comfortable. Damon's brows are on a furrowed mode and even his lips are thin.

"This place is surprisingly huge. Their Kingdom is extremely weak that they can't support their scholars, but their Kingdom is fifty percent more bigger than Dragonia Kingdom. I wonder where they're getting all that money? Was that can't support their scholars for a show?" he said suspiciously.

He looks so serious right now.

"I think so. Even their Kingdom is hidden from everyone. They didn't even created a magic portal for their KIngdom. They're so afraid that someone might actually come in here and see what they're up to," I agreed. Josh turned his body to us.

"And that's the reason why Wizardus decided to find their own way on how to get out of this place and I happened to discover it by chance while I was hiding," he added. His eyes landed on the map Damon is holding. "Where did you get that though?" he asked.

"My pockets. You can check your own pockets. It's inside the pocket of the biggest pocket. Even the freshmen have to carry a map around them because this place is gigantic."

I arched my brows as I search for the map he's talking about.

"I-I think I found mine." I put out the folded paper inside my pockets and I wasn't wrong. It was indeed the map of Wizarnia.

Josh takes out his. "So, we're in for the dangerous garden, right? I think I see where we're going." He opened the map fully to show us the rectangular shape on the map. "Dangerous garden is not too far. It's Sunday. There will be no guards to guard it. Let's go now."

I heaved a deep sigh. There's no turning back.

*****

The secret route is more harder than I thought. There are spiky plants that keep on poking my legs as I crossed it with my wizardus outfit. I've never seen this plants before. They look mutated.

"Stop."

I froze as soon as I heard Damon's signal. I carefully peeked through the bushes and guards with huge wands greeted me. They have black under eyes and red lipstick. What the hell happened to them?

"Are they guards?" I asked in a whispering voice. Josh nodded his head beside me.

"They're not just guards. They're called eliminators. They cursed right on the spot. We have to be careful of them."

I stepped forward when Damon signal us to go. Josh and Damon are assigned to guard the place as I enter the dangerous garden to get the Fluntuela plant. I looked at Damon.

"What does it look like again?" I asked nervously. We're dead once the eliminators come this way again.

"It looks like an umbrella with white spots on the sides. You know you have it when you start to have nasal deep voice. I'm sorry that I can't accompany you there, baby. I have to make sure that no wizardus will see you once you're there."

My lips curved into a smile when he hold my hand.

"It's okay. This is just a one job. We'll get back once I have it already," I replied in a sweet voice. He pulled my nape and close the gap in our faces. I smiled as soon as he pulled away. "I love you."

"I love you."

I released a deep sigh as soon as he moved away from me to get back to his position. I landed my eyes inside the dangerous garden. Almost everything inside this garden is black and gray. How can they even call this place a garden?

"There's no turning back, Golden."
