Chapter 119

Golden's POV

The weather is clear. Elaine and Gab started their comeback with a loud bickering and we're just following them silently at the back. We're headed to the castle already. I'm excited to let them know that we managed to fix the mess we started.

"But we're not done yet," Damon said out of the blue. I glanced at him confusedly. He turned his head at me. "We still have another mission to do. God Gaviel's bludgeon is still missing and we must find it before it's too late."

I parted my lips when I realized he can hear my thoughts. I almost forgot about the knot.

"Yeah, rest don't exist for prophecy's vortans like us. I don't even know where to start anymore," I replied in an exhausted voice. He snakes his arm on my waist. "Our last lead was Aluncina and she disappeared without a trace. I don't even understand why Miss Puff had to killed God Diante. He was never bad to anyone." I sighed.

"We don't know what, but I'm sure that the heavens will help us find them."

I agreed to what he said with hesitation. I don't know anymore. I'm starting to feel hopeless. The puzzle pieces we're picking don't match. It's hard to make a picture out of those. Are Wizardus and Mythos really behind this?

"AHHHHHH!"

My body flinches from the loud scream coming from Elaine. I immediately gazed at them to see her pointing an animal that looks like a dog.

"A WOLF!" she yelled hysterically and jumped in Gab's arms.

My lips parted. I can feel Damon's grip on my waist tightening. I looked at the wolf's eyes. "J—Josh?" I called. Gab and Elaine turned their heads at us with confused eyes. I can't be wrong. That is Josh!

"You know him?" Gab asked. He must know already that the wolf in front of us is a Mythos.

"Yes, he's a friend. Don't be scared of him. He helped us find Aluncina on the outside world."

Josh looked at me. I gave him a short smile to tell him that everything is all right. He must have been startled by Elaine's loud voice. Well, even the chosen who's gifted with voice like a whale is nothing to her. She's like a whale with a microphone connected to huge speakers inside a cave.

You can imagine.

"A mythos! Aren't they the one who started this problem. They're accomplices with the Wizardus," Elaine blurted frantically. I walked to them and block myself on Josh. "He might have helped you, Golden, but that doesn't change the fact that a blood of traitor runs in his veins. He's a Mythos for Gaviel's sake!" The sound of hatred and hate in her voice is breaking my heart for Josh.

He didn't do anything and yet he's receiving so much hate because of the kingdom he came from.

"Elaine, stop it!" Gab scolded.

"You stop! Are we really going to let him stand here with us. He could be a threat. Who knows? He might have a pack with him ready to attack us."

"Elaine!"

"What?!"

I was about to defend Josh when he suddenly transformed into his normal form. He has a blank expression on his face, but I see the hint of blue in his eyes. He looks upset.

"She's right. I'm sorry. It's my fault for coming in here uninvited. I just wanted to know if you're all right," Josh said and glanced at me. "I heard the CCTV footage were disclosed to the public. I wanted to help, but I couldn't reach you, guys."

He still worries about us despite of Elaine's prejudice against him.

"I'm sorry again. You can continue in your way back to the castle. Make sure to not touch anything in the forest not until you're inside Spheria. Other wolves might smell your scent and follow you."

That's the last thing he said before transforming himself back to a wolf again and running away.

I frantically turned my head at Elaine. "What was that for?" I asked in an upset voice. She rolled her eyes. I see how she hates the other races so much. "You're being racist," I scoffed.

"No, I'm not. I'm just being careful."

"You called being disrespectful careful?"

"Yes!"

"Girls, stop."

"She started it!"

"Oh, I did? Was I the one being disrespectful and racist? You're clearly too immature to realize that not all Mythos and Wizardus want what they're getting. They're just like us!"

"Now, you're defending them. Are you the spokesperson now?"

"Girls, stop!"

Damon's deep voice echoed in the forest. I crossed my arms and looked away. I can't believe we'll fight over this. Didn't know she was such a racist. I clearly told her that Josh helped us in many ways and yet she proceeded on being disrespectful. Josh didn't even do anything to her. He was just standing when she started screaming like she's being attacked.

"What are you kids?" Gab slurred. I remained silent. I don't want to see her face nor hear her voice right now. I'm so pissed I can start another argument again.

Damon and Gab ended up taking different paths to separate the two of us. He and I will be taking the longer path.

"Is there a way to call wolves?" I asked him. He's been silent since the fight we had. I think he's disappointed. I'm just trying to defend an innocent vortan. Josh is such a good friend and I can't just sit back and listen to her say mean things to him.

"Why would you want to call them? Do you realize that Josh is not the only wolf in here? You would be summoning everybody including the one's who have bad intentions."

I huffed silently. This is not working. I genuinely feel bad for Josh. The wat hr acted earlier breaks my heart. He's just letting go of things.

"Was she always like that?" he asked.

I furrowed my brows. "What do you mean?" He insert his hands in his pockets while waking the lumpy ground.

"I'm a little surprise about that side of her. Gab never mentioned to me that she has so much hate in the other races."

I heaved a deep sigh. I actually know the reason why. I'm not sure yet, but I think it has something to do with how she reacts on certain situations.

"Her mother was a victim of petrification," I started. He looked at me using the corner of his eyes. "She woke up feeling nauseous. The next things she remembers is seeing her mother as hard as stone. A wizardus managed to get into their house and killed her mother for spreading information about the Wizardus."

"I didn't know she hated them so much that she'll start getting worked up by seeing one," he commented.

I pouted my lips. I'm just realizing now where she's getting all her prejudice and hatred from. "We can't really blame her though. I just got upset because Josh is a goof friend of ours and it hurts to see him getting judge right away," I said in a small voice. Damon pat my shoulders.

"You can always make up. It's not like you're adversaries already. I'm sure that she's starting to regret her mistakes too," he comforted. I sighed deeply.

I hope so.

Damon and I made it to the castle. Bubbles greeted us right away. She snatches the bag we're holding and brings it to our chamber.

I'm exhausted, but we still have to go to God Hlaford's office and inform him about what happened.

"Vestacios, God Hlaford."

Damon and I said those words in chorus. The busy God lifted his head to look at us.

"Blessed."

I took a sit on the front chair. Damon will do the talking. I would be listening to him talk today. I am so tired. I want to go and sleep already.

"We successfully finished the mission, God Hlaford. The CCTV footage has been deleted to all sites and articles. Thanks to Gab and Elaine. We finished this without a mess," he said.

The powerful God of Spheria curved his lips into a smile. His face wrinkled from his side cheeks.

"I'm glad that both of you are safe," he replied. I can't help, but remember the advice he gave to Damon whenever I look on his face. Did he really say that?

I don't know, but I'm starting to doubt him.
