Chapter 111

Our quest now is far different from the previous one's we had before. We didn't have to bring any armors or weapons with us. We're not going to war this time.
This is just the battle of brains.
"Shut up! Don't talk to me. You're so annoying and I'm never going to talk to you anymore," Elaine said frantically to her parsen. They're fighting again. I don't know the reason this time and I don't want to know. "Don't touch me! I'm telling you. Try to read my thoughts again and I'll marry a tree than you."
I chuckled softly while watching them bicker. Damon went to see God Hlaford for the last time before we actually leave. I'm a little nervous because this is the first time we're bringing them with us. I think they'll do fine, but not when they're fighting.
Besides, they've never been to the outside world. Their ignorance will be too obvious for everyone to notice.
"I told you already that I did not read your mind. You lost because I had the makja!" Gab explained desperately. He's referring to the traditional board game in our Kingdom. She rolled her eyes at him and huffed like a child.
I shook my head as I wait for Damon to come out of the entrance. We're here outside waiting for him.
It's so early in the morning, but all I hear is their loud bickering and fighting. "Guys, seriously? Stop it. You're being too loud. I feel sorry to those who have sensitive hearing sense," I told them seriously. Elaine arched his brows in a sad manner.
"H—He's just too terrible. He promised that he won't read my mind, but he always does whenever we're playing. He thinks I'll believe his nonsense excuse?" she slurred and crossed his arms. Gab heaved a deep sigh. "What?" she blurted to him.
I feel bad for Gab. He seemed to be telling the truth. It's just that, Elaine can't accept her defeat.
"I'm sorry," he yielded.
Elaine rolled her eyes. She's acting like a brat, but I know that her parsen's apology made her heart soft. She's always been like that. I think she's just testing his patience.
My face brightens when I finally saw Damon walking out the entrance. He has a serious look on his face, but I can tell that nothing's wrong and we're ready to go.
"Baby!" I chirped. He smiled when I reached for his lips. "What happened to God Hlaford's office?" I asked him. He looked at me and back to the bickering couple.
"He gave me some sort of blessing. It's just to keep us safe from the quest that we're about to do."
I wrapped my hands around his toned waist. He's wearing a human clothing and it suits him really well. All of us actually do. I'm wearing a simple outfit. Just pants and black shirt. Elaine is wearing a dress. Gab is wearing the same outfit style that Damon is wearing.
We looked like real humans now.
"Let's go?" he said. All of us nodded in agreement.

This will be a very long walk. Everything would have been faster if it weren't for these two following us right now.
"The sun will rise soon before we even get to the portal!" Golden complained and massage her swollen legs. We're not even close yet. I glanced at Damon who seemed to be thinking of a way to makes things faster. "C—Can you give me water?" I heard her ask Gab.
They ended up making up after all those loud bickering earlier. They should have just talked it through. I think my ears are lacking now.
"Do you have fear of heights?" Damon asked out of the blue.
They looked at him confusedly. I stared at Damon's serious face. I think I know what he wants to do. "Well, not really. I've been to a really high cliff before and even Gab had the chance to climb up a really high mountain —" Damon cut her off.
"I'll transform myself into a dragon. All of you get on my back, but only Golden can climb up to my neck. Got it?" he said with authority in his voice. Elaine's eyes starts to sparkle in excitement. "Move aside."
He never carried anyone on his back except from me. I'm a little worried that it will make his back hurts so bad, but he said it himself already. So...
We gave him space by taking a few steps back. I closed my eyes he started transforming himself into a dragon. It looks a little painful in my opinion. It's almost like he's breaking his bones to for a new and big sturdy one.
I can hear Elaine gasping beside me. This is the first she's seeing Damon transform in a closer look.
"T—That's really cool," Gab muttered.
I furrowed my brows while looking at his dragon form. His flashy white scales are reflecting the brightness of the moonlight. I glanced at the two couple drooling beside me. "Get in there now. We have to hurry," I said and smiled.

"Careful!" Gab blurted for who knows how many time already to Elaine.
We've successfully got on Damon's back and believe me when I say that having Elaine on a dragon back ride is really dangerous. She keeps on moving out of excitement. Thank goodness that Gab is behind her back. She'd fall right away without him watching her.
"Grghhh!" Damon snarled.
I don't have to speak dragon language to understand him. You can already tell by the tone of his snarled that he's scolding Elaine for moving.
"Just don't move. You'll get him out of balance," I told her firmly. She stopped moving and steady in her seat.
I heaved a deep sigh. I guess inviting her was not a good idea.

"That was really cool! I want to do it again next time. Can we? Can we?" she chirped loudly. Enough to wake up all the animals in the forest. I glanced at Gab and he sighs and mouthed sorry.
"Elaine, shut up. Your loud mouth will get us on trouble," he scolded. We arrived at our destination. Damon wanted to rest for a few minutes that's why we're still lingering here.
He never had anyone on his back before except me. Plus, Elaine was moving like she's on a carousel earlier. Who's back will not hurt from that?
"Are you okay?" I asked sweetly to him. Damon lifted his head tiredly. We haven't started our actual mission, but he looks like he's about to give up already.
"I didn't know she will be that excited. Adding weight on my back was not a good idea," he replied jokingly while massaging his shoulders.
I smiled and caress his face. I feels bad.
"Are we not going?" Elaine asked impatiently. She's now sitting on one of the rocks. Gab is beside her and giving her everything she needs like a fan.
"I can't chant the portal when I'm tired. It won't work and there's a high possibility of it to get nulled, so give me a little time to rest," he replied seriously at her. Elaine huffed and crossed her arms. Since when did she become so bratty about this?
I glanced at Gab. He keeps on glancing around like he's trying to find or catch something. I arched my brows curiously and called him by his name.
"Gab?" He turned his head to look at me. "Why are you glancing around? Is there something bothering you?" I asked. He looks around again before shaking his head as a response.
"I thought I saw someone walking in the bushes. It could be just some stray animal," he replied. I pouted my lips and nodded.
Maybe?
"I'm good. Let's start now. Fix yourselves up." Damon stands up from his seat and went to the tree where God Diante chanted the forbidden spell before. "Before I start to chant the secret spell. I want you all to circle around me and promise me one thing," he said.
I walked towards him and Gab and Elaine did the same. We stood in front of him and waited for the next thing he's going to say.
"Swear to not use any magic and Vortaxia related objects to the outside world. We will he nothing there, but mortals."
We nodded our heads and bowed slightly for formality.
Damon's eyes and mine met when I lifted my head to look at him. He smiled at me.
"I love you," he mouthed. I smiled.
"I love you too."
