Golden's POV

It's a sunny morning. Our original plan of teaching other Chosens to fight got postponed because of God Hlaford. We knew that he wouldn't like the idea.

One of the servants came knocking to our door. They told us that God Hlaford is expecting us in his chamber.

It's been a week since he came back. We felt the massive difference in a short amount of time. Without him, Spheria is nothing. Damon and I decided to go there after lunch.

"You're silent," he noticed. I lifted my head to look at him. We're currently on the dining hall. I've been liking to eat alone. That's why we've been waiting for everyone to finish their meal first before we come and eat ours.

"We're eating that's why," I replied. He pouted his lips and put a spoonful of ice cream in my mouth. "I told you I'm on a diet," I rejected. He frowned his face and eat the ice cream himself.

"Why are you on a diet? You're already healthy."

I rolled my eyes and didn't answer him. My hands went to the mango. I really like the taste of this one. My foster mom taught me how to eat this properly.

First, you have to cut the both cheeks. Then, you will cut small squares into it with a knife. You have to make sure that you don't get the skin for it will serve as a bowl. Next, you'll push the butt of it with your fingers until it pops out. It will look so cute and appetizing.

You can cut it if you want or just let it be. Totally depends to you, but I will eat it right way with a spoon. I'll just scoop it.

"You're enjoying that?" he said again. I stared at him. He's been trying to start a conversation with me, but I'm not really in the mood to entertain him.

It's a bloody red day y'all.

Fortunately, they've got sanitary napkins in here. You won't believe it if I tell you what it looks like. It's not like the one's we have in the human world.

It's not flat. It's round. And it only supports the hole. It was quite uncomfortable at first and I really thought it would leak, but it didn't. So, that's fine.

That's the reason why I can't entertain conversations right now. Might be the reason too why I asked him to let the others eat first before we come here. I just like the silence so much.

"What will happen to our original quest? Finding God Gaviel's bludgeon?" I finally spoke. He arched his brows then look at me. "Ever since He came back. We didn't do much at all. We're just sitting here and doing nothing. Time is running." I looked down at my plate. This doesn't feel right. Why do I feel like God Hlaford is buying those culprits time?

"Are you suspecting him?" he asked. I quickly shook my head. But I do.

"I didn't say that," I replied.

"You didn't have to. It's obvious in your tone of voice."

I looked away. He really knows me. Well, what's the knot for? Damon took out a small pouch from his pocket. He pushed it towards me and smiled.

"It's for you," he said in a low voice. I stared at the pouch for a few moments before picking it up.

It has nice embroidery. Looks expensive too. "Where did you buy this?" I asked. He shrugged his shoulders and gave me a mischievous smile.

"I bought it outside the palace. It reminded me of you," he replied. The corner of my lips lifted. His such a charmer. I pulled the string gently to see what's inside.

Both of my brows raised when I saw a miniature shield inside. I thought it would be a hairpin or a ring. I remind him of this?

"A small shield?" I mumbled. He nodded his head proudly. I released a soft chuckle and put it on the table. "Okay, so is that some sort of a keychain? I've got nothing to hang that thing on."

"It's not just a small object. It's an actual shield," he explained. I glanced at him and frowned.

"So, does it expand? You know like. Do I click something?" I asked. He smiled and pick the small shield he gave me. Damon put it on the side and chanted a magic.

"Maior," he mumbled.

I flinched when the shield suddenly expanded in seconds. It turned out to be so big to cover my entire body.

"That's massive!" I say in amazement. He smiled and gave the shield to me. I squeaked when I almost drop it on the nine feet tall gap of the floor and our table because of its weight.

"How is it so heavy?" I mumbled to myself. Damon is just staring at me amusedly. Well, I do like his gift so much.

"It's magic," he replied. "You can use it on battles. It's tiny so you can just keep it on your pockets if you want."

"That's cool."

"They've got more there actually. There are swords and such. We can visit that shop if you want. Let's have our own little bonding."

I stared at him for with a sweet smile plastered on my face. He's really sweet. That's something most of the Vortans don't understand. He might look tough and unapproachable, but he has a soft heart.

"Since when did you start liking shopping, hmm?" I joked. He smiled his thin lips and drink a glass of mango juice.

"Since when you stopped talking to me. You have your monthly visits, don't you?" he asked. I chuckled and nodded. He knows exactly how to talk to me.

*****

I'm cool about visiting God Hlaford. I haven't talked to him since he came back.

God Columbus was so glad to know that he's alive. He even treated the whole Kingdom for lunch. He sent guards to give each households a feasting beans.

As for God Hlaford, he's been busy. I'm sure that he's so sad to know that a lot of the guards were killed during the attack. We even dared to twist his rule of not teaching the Chosens to fight for he wants nothing, but peace.

But peace will never exist in a world where there are Vortans filled with so much envy and greed. We had to fight.

We're already crossing the path to his chamber. A lot of Chosens recognize us and give us their usual greetings. I noticed how popular Damon is to the girls. They used to discriminate him because of his race, but now they're acting all fun and sweet.

The sudden change of wind is too fast.

"Ready?" he asked. I looked at him and nodded. Damon pushed the intimidating huge door in front of us.

We bowed when finally see God Hlaford in person. He's been so busy that he couldn't get out of his office. I wish I could give him a cup of brewed black beans.

"Vestacios, God Hlaford."

I put my hand on my right chest and bowed. The familiar scent of his room lingered in my nostrils again. I can hear the sound of ringing bells on his window. The breeze in his room is so homey.

"Blessed," he said. I lifted my head to look at him. His warm smile made me feel at ease.

It's indeed him. The God of Spheria is back.

"Help yourselves," he said and offer us a seat. Damon and I sat in front of his desk. He's just laying in there watching us. I couldn't read his face and I'm getting a little nervous about that.

Is he going to tell us a bad news or a good one?

"About God Gaviel's bludgeon," he started. I gulped nervously.

Oh, no.
