Chapter 91

Golden's POV

"So?" Damon asked. I looked at the couple in front of me. Elaine  has a trace of vomit in her mouth which she obviously used to fool Miss Puff.

"I couldn't read her," Gab replied. I heaved a deep sigh. I knew it. Miss Puff is not crazy enough to now know that some of the Vortans have telepathic gifts.

"But what I did noticed is she's acting strange. She used Reno Leaves instead of Kuala Flowers," he said. My eyes widened. Did she poison Elaine? I checked her and she's doing okay.

"Chill, guys. Nothing happened to me. I can control plants and their poisons, remember?" she flaunted and give us a wink. I sigh in relief. My eyes landed back to Gab.

"Reno Leaves are cure for minor sickness like headache and flu. There's really nothing much to it, but I just find it weird that she'll use something that we don't need," he added. My brows furrowed. He's right. Did she perhaps noticed what we were planning?

"How do you know all of that?" I asked. Gab glanced at me and scratch the back of his head.

"Well, I used to study botanical gardens because of Elaine. I learned about Reno Leaves from a close friend. It's brownish and color and you might think of it as a chocolate once you see it."

"And it stinks," Elaine added.

I started digesting what they said. Gab couldn't read her, but she's acting weird. She used Reno Leaves instead of Kuala Flowers. The stain on her skirt. What are all these?

"What's Miss Puff's gift?" I asked out of the blue. They all looked at me. Their priceless expressions gave me the answer. Nobody knows. I was never introduced to her formally. I've met all the Gods and Goddesses in Vortaxia, but not her.

"Maybe something related to plants? She's a nurse anyway," Elaine answered. I looked at her and back to the tree I was staring at for hours.

We're currently heading back to the castle. It is not that far, but we're taking our time. I'm sure there are Vortans gifted with enhanced senses such as hearing.

I bite my lower lip and thinking about what she said more deeply.

She's right. Her gift could be somewhat related to plants. What's the use of being a herbal nurse if it's not, right? But it could be not her gift too. It's not like only those with plant-related gifts can be a herbal nurse.

"What are you thinking so deeply?" Damon whispers in my right ear. He slowly wraps his hand around my waist. I smiled and lean my head to his chest. "Are you tired?" he asked.

We didn't do much really. My feel became numb from standing too long not far from the Tree Clinic to observe them. Aside from that, there's nothing to be exhausted of. I looked at the far view of the castle.

This place still feels magical.

"Don't you see how sweet they are? You should do the same to me you insensitive piece of ivaw," Elaine blurted to her parsen. I chuckled silently and cuddled my boyfriend as we walked to the castle.

"Thank you really," Damon said to Gab. He just smiled and wiggled his brows like it's nothing.  "I really appreciate your effort, man."  They do their manly fist bump while me and Elaine did our kiss on the cheeks.

Time flies and it's already one week after the unforgettable incident. It's time for God Diante's deaty ceremony. The castle never felt so gloomy before. Everything is just sad and low in energy. We feel his absence. Everyone does.

I'm wearing a white gown that has sheers at the back. There's a gold lace in my waist that emphasizes its small size. My long curly hair is braided and I'm wearing the hair ornament I received from being such a good friend to Bubbles.

Speaking of... My ivaw has been my good friend since that incident. She never fails to bring me little things that everyone will appreciate so much. Like a rose that she has picked up from the flower garden outside. Bubbles gives me different flowers every hour and that puts a smile on my face.

Damon and I are now more motivated to find the culprit. He does not only steal sacred items from out Kingdom. He also killed the God that we all loved. I'll make sure that he'll for all his sins.

I flinched when I felt a warm touch on my face.

"You're crying," Damon said. He wiped my tears away and give me a comforting smile. "Diante will not like that face of yours." My eyes watered from what he said. It made me more emotional. The memories of him start to flash in my mind like a cassette tape.

"I'm sure that he's with God Gaviel now. Don't worry yourself. He's in good hands," he added and pulled me into an embrace. I buried my face on his chest and cry my heart out. When will I forget this pain?

He escorted me to the field where God Diante's death ceremony will be held. Everyone were called to gather there and mourn for his death. All of us are wearing white. There are white flowers everywhere and mermaids.

They're using their beautiful voice to sing.

"Look," Damon lifts my chin. "Cronosis and Petuñia are here too. You should greet them," he said. I forced a smile when they look at our spot. They're close to God Diante too.

The sound of the mermaids' voices made me feel more depressed. I will really miss him a lot. How I wish that this is all a nightmare. That everything will go back to normal once I open my eyes.

"I'm here," he whispered. I felt his kiss on the top of my head. "You're not alone."

The crying crowd became silent when God Hlaford's voice was heard. We looked at the floating podium above. His glowing bludgeon caught my attention first. It's glowing.

My eyes watered when it flashes God Diante's picture. He looks so happy and bright. It's a memory taken out of his head. Damon holds my hand tightly when he feels that I'm about to fall apart.

"The God of Classificus was not just a trainor. He was a father and a friend to everyone. He did not just help enhanced your gifts, but he also did his best to develop a strong bond with everybody," he said. I hold my tears.

"I've asked him once. How can he be so good in making friends. He looked at me in the eyes and smiled. I was confused. He opened his mouth and these words came out of his lips." He raised his bludgeon and a video memory flashes on the sky.

It's God Diante. "I never make friends. You don't make friends, Hlaford. It's not something you can make. It's something you can give. You give friendship to others and everyone has an ability to do so even the highest God like you," he said. My heart clenched. That answer is so him.

"We're all witnesses of his kind heart. He was friendly to everybody no matter what rank are you," he stated. Hlaford took his podium to the bed of flowers where God Diante is laying. He puts his bludgeon on top of it and mumble something.

I cried when God Diante starts to turn into white ashes.

"No," I cried silently. Damon's hug tightened.

"Shhhh," he hushes. I buried my face in his chest. My heart can't watch this. I feel like my heart is breaking into two.

"AHHHHHHH!"

A loud scream stops me from crying and the next thing I heard is a loud explosion.
